I was tired from driving from IL headed back home to FL. When I pulled into my hotel, I noticed the Outback Steakhouse across the street. It was later in the evening, but they were still open. I decided to grab something to eat before checking in. I was greeted almost immediately and sat in a booth in the bar. I knew I wanted a blooming onion, but couldn't eat a full one so I asked for a half portion. The server was nice, but wanted to take the full order when he asked what I wanted to drink. If the onion had come out before I ordered I probably would have just ate it and a couple pieces of bread and called it a night. Instead, I ordered grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. The opinion was very good, but a bit overcooked. The chicken arrived at almost the same time as the appetizer. I would have preferred it a bit later so I could enjoy the blooming onion, but it was late, as I mentioned. I didn't want two sides so I just got the broccoli with the chicken. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The broccoli was a bit overcooked, but nice and buttery. The bar area was clean and the lighting low, which created a nice relaxing atmosphere. read more

I asked the bartender to turn up the volume on the TV in the bar so we could hear the announcer for the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby. "Oh no, we can't do that." The race was 2 minutes long and we listened to the Muzak they play in the restaurant instead of the announcer for the race. I don't know if she did not know how to turn the volume up on the TV or if they have a policy not to play the bar TV. read more

The Outback was located by some plaza and it had ample of parking around. The food was average and the service was decent.

The absolute worse service I've had at a restaurant that I can remember First I get the wait for a table we waited 35 minutes no biggie.. sat down ordered drinks and appetizer. It took awhile the waitress came back 15 minutes later with our appetizer? We then ordered our meal. This should have been a sign we were doomed! The cheese fries were burnt on the top but this might be the last food we get for awhile so we dug in. Now the food came and our steaks were cooked good no complaints on the meals. The cooks overall did a great job. The issue was I never saw our waitress again she waited on numerous tables and I never had to finally get another waitress to get our ticket. Why bother going out? Steak was gritty which I could get over but not unseasoned. Also, the kids grilled chicken not seasoned. I don't know who just throws unseasoned meat on a grill. We arrived close to closing and were seated immediately. The waitress came over introduced herself and took our drink order. I ordered an Old Fashion Down under...yuck. My friend ordered 3 drinks, the first one was sweet, but watered down, the second one was a long Island ice tea again watered down he sent it back and just ordered a double Hennessey with a splash of coke...hard to jack that up. First time viating in a few years our server Warren was absolutely fantastic. He was very attentive and made our visit great. We stoped by this Outback on our way home from Ft. Oglethorpe. It was a very pleasant surprise. The last couple of Outback's have not been the best, so we were not expecting much, but we have loved Outback in the past so... The service was outstanding, our server Allie was excellent. Our service lately has been good. They've done a good job with the food and the quality has been great.

The people in here are not very attentive even though the place isn't too busy. They'd rather do busy work rather than focus on customer service. Not that I expect much from outback, but this is a basic food service staple. Their food is typical Outback fare. They tend to overlook things here so be wary of that. It wasn't a bad experience. Friday's and Saturdays provide a much larger crowd than weekdays here. That's pretty typical for most places, but I'm just forewarning you. Update: I believe a new proprietor has taken over and I have to say, I am impressed! The food and service were both drastically better :) Our service was a little slow but water was always topped off, and the waitress was nice. I frequent Outback in Dalton several times a month and have for years over the course of the past year or so there have been some questionable experiences, yesterday topped the cake! I was dining in and throughly enjoying my experience, food and server included, until I wasn't. My last several dining experiences have seemed very robotic and rehearsed, to the point of the servers suggesting something for literally every dish we ordered and less personal. Yesterday, my service was just enough, she made sure our drinks were full, she was personable, friendly, and cute however I could carry on a conversation without her knowing every detail of it with my dinner partner. Very impressive, cute, sweet server! Out of no where a man comes around the corner to the dining area and has the audacity to say to the server in the middle of the dining area, "you've served 1 out of two tables properly, that's improvement" and the server that's done so great fight back tears as she tries to go on about her shift and as he gawks, giggles and socializes with other specific servers. Once leaving I contact corporate to find there are no live representatives for Outback and then I'm transferred to the Dalton location to share my experience only to find this man, who was so completely unprofessional and out of line is the main manager at the location named Jason Dimmlech. I'm completely appalled at how the man spoke to an associate loudly enough for guest to hear and can only imagine if he treats them this way in the dining area, how they must be treated behind closed doors and this is not the only complaint, review I will make. I will no longer frequent Outback if I continue to see this but if u want a good server, sweet as she can be and on top of it, I was told her name is Bryleigh ask for her! read more

My husband and I both went to this Outback Steakhouse for our anniversary! We absolutely had the best time and amazing food!!! Our server Ryan, made our experience amazing and was so attentive! Honestly, one of the best servers we have encountered going out to eat! I am so glad we sat in his section. I specifically came to leave this review for him to compliment and let everyone know, when you go to eat there, ask for Ryan! Thank you for making our anniversary dinner awesome! I didn't eat but a bite of the bread, it was reheated, I ate all of the salad, should have asked for dressing on the side. I ate some of the blooming pedals, waaaaay too salty! UGH!!! I ordered the pasta and it was still bland, what was I thinking? For some reason the chef thinks season the chicken and season the shrimp and it will season the pasta. I placed a take out order at 1115 for it to be ready at 1215 on my lunch break . At 1230 they had not brought it out like it said on the website . So I went to get it and stood in there for a good 8 minutes before anyone came up to me . When they did they gave me an order that was steak broc and a salad that was not what I ordered online . Stopped in for dinner while traveling. It was super convenient as it's right next to the hotel I stayed at. I came in on a Monday and it was not busy. I got in right away. The service was great, my waitress came out in like 40 seconds asking for my drink order. I ordered one of the specials as it came with "unlimited shrimp". The steak was cooked just as I requested. The shrimp was like popcorn shrimp that you would get at a fast food restaurant. They weren't bad and it was unlimited. Just not what I expected. The waitress was extremely attentive and very friendly. If I was just rating on service I'd give it a 5. But the food I feel is a larger part of the rating and the food was so, so. I've eaten here a couple of times now and my last experience was amazing. Tried a few of the new seasonal items and man, they were good. The filet was perfectly cooked to my preferred medium rare. It was like butter! The knife just glided through the meat, it was so tender. I also had the Steakhouse Salad for the first time, and oh my goodness, it is soooooo good. The blue cheese dressing is very unique. Like a blue cheese vinaigrette, it compliments the greens and makes the chunks of blue cheese even more delicious! The crunchy bits are delightful and the candied nuts, add another layer of crunch. Seriously, this salad is delicious. Also tried the Rose Sangria cocktail and man, that is refreshing and yummy. I have visited this location several times since the doors were open and I was surprised to learn recently that this was not actually authentic Australian cuisine at all. I think that this is totally false advertisement and see no reason to why the prices for such sub-par food should be so outrageous given the circumstances. How about we don't go Outback tonight or if we do at least shoot me and leave me in the gutter where they get their meat and the terrible street slop they gather for the so-called blooming onions. Too Much Salt..!! had the wings and shrimp on the barbie. both were loaded with salt. The wings, in particular, were just not edible... broke my heart. the bartender was outstanding so did not want to bother her. but we left both items. paid our bill and left.
