The restaurant was clean and inviting and we experienced excellent and attentive service. The food was well prepared and came out quickly. I decided upon the Parmesan crusted chicken and salad this time, and I was not disappointed!

Wow! Everything from the appetizer-stuffed mushrooms to the strawberry salad and the pork chops-10-10-10!!! Our waitress Autumn was super sweet and very attentive. We are traveling so I hope when we get home and go to our Longhorns it is just as good!

Food was pricey and underwhelming. Steaks were SMOTHERED in seasoning, mainly pepper i believe, so spicy we went through at least 4 beverages each...I prefer the mesquite flavor of Texas roadhouse.

Amazingly tender steak! Prompt service with a smile, and a perfect low-light dining area for a comfortable lunch or dinner. Had to go for the biggest steak with the name. 22oz. Porterhouse (med-rare) Loaded Bake Potato, and a salad. Looking forward to going back and trying other Signature menu items

Excellent value for a giant burger and baked potato.

Remarkably good value. The burger must've weighed at least 8 ounces. It was cooked to "medium" perfection. It came with a side order of a baked potato with sour cream, butter and spring onions. They included a small loaf of bread, flatware, and mustard and ketchup.. The baked potato was also a very good size and was baked to the point where it was very creamy. You would be hard-pressed to get a burger this good at Five Guys or some other high end burger place. All for $11.12. I don't know how they can do it for this price. It keeps me coming back.

For a steakhouse, the prices are relatively reasonable but by nature it is a bit more expensive than average. The service has been consistently excellent and the staff are friendly. There is a nice bar and some seating in the bar area as well. In the cooler weather the bar area seating enjoys a well placed fireplace. I recommend the double black diamond martini. The steaks, chicken and salmon dishes I have had I enjoyed. I think the NY strip is my favorite and I like to get the port mushrooms and a baked potato as the sides. I tried the Tomahawk pork chop recently and it was delicious and a generous amount of food. Most steak places also know how to properly cook fish and the Salmon is always very good here. The three course meal deal is a good value if you are hungry and the dessert is a full size. My one complaint is that the last two visits, the air conditioning did not seem to be working properly and the restaurant seemed a bit uncomfortable. Please fix your HVAC!

It genuinely felt like there were some kind of air-conditioning issues happening, which already made sitting through dinner uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the service didn't make the experience any better. Our server, Diego, seemed annoyed from the very beginning. Maybe he was overworked or having a rough night, but he came across as unfriendly and irritated by fairly normal questions. We ordered a good variety for the table, including the deviled eggs, ranch onion rings, meatloaf, penne with steak, and chimichurri shrimp with mashed potatoes. When I asked whether the quinoa that came with a possible dish I was looking at, could be substituted for something else, Diego responded that it was "good for me" and that I should get it. That wasn't what I asked, and the response felt unnecessarily snarky. Then there was the margarita. Why are we putting regular table salt on the rim of a margarita? It may sound like a small detail, but at this price point and level of restaurant, the details matter. It just felt sloppy. The biggest issue, however, was my chimichurri shrimp. After cutting into one, I realized it was raw. Not slightly underdone. Raw. Eventually Diego came back around and I let him know. He took the plate away, but it took roughly another 30 minutes for the replacement shrimp to arrive. By that point, every single person I was dining with had finished their meal. I essentially sat there while my friends ate and then received my food after dinner was already over. What shocked me even more was that the meal wasn't comped. There was no meaningful attempt to make the situation right despite serving raw seafood and then taking another half hour to replace it. Mistakes happen in restaurants. Kitchens get backed up, servers have bad nights, and food occasionally needs to be remade. What separates a good restaurant from a disappointing one is how those mistakes are handled. Serving raw shrimp, leaving a guest without their meal while the rest of the table finishes, and then charging full price as though nothing happened is not good hospitality. Between the uncomfortable heat, dismissive service, questionable attention to detail, raw food, and the way the situation was ultimately handled, this completely put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun Friday night out with friends. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark in too many ways for me to overlook.

Yes, there are "trendy" restaurants downtown with a larger and rotating, seasonal, or farm-to-table menu. But Olde Towne Steak & Seafood is wonderful. The steak is always cooked to perfection, the shrimp in the Shrimp Cocktail are ENORMOUS, the stuffed mushrooms are (chef's kiss), their cocktails (especially dirty martinis) are wonderful, and their prime rib is as big as an infant's head. The interior could use a bit of an upgrade. I went there for my Senior prom in 1990 and although it is still cozy and inviting -especially fireside-the clean, classic decor could use a bit of a perking up. No minor issues like decor can obscure the wonderful service! A LOT of servers in this area consider waiting tables just a job to be done and gotten over with and customers a nuisance. Whether they truly feel it or not, the staff here present themselves as practicing their vocation. But none of this compares to the warmth and personal attention of Mrs. Hyon Harding, the owner. Mrs. Hyon always greets you like you are a welcome guest - not a dollar sign. She takes the time during each visit to personally visit each table to make sure everything is to your satisfaction and you are happy. And it is not just some token "drive by." You can tell she really does care and wants you to have a good experience. All of this beats truffle fries and Mac and cheese, rosemary mashed potatoes, and "locally foraged mushrooms" in my book and always will.

Went on a Sunday night and there maybe 5 other tables occupied, each had over 5 patrons and we had a table near the main fireplace. The atmosphere was as expected no change over the years. Room temperature was great, a bit cool for my wife but that is normal. Our sever (Callie was exceptional and very responsive to our requests) came to the table promptly and took our drink order. Water and tea, no alcohol. Delivered quickly. We also got bread, not warm and very unimpressive. Orders were placed we recovered our salads with dressing on them and I had requested it on the side, not a big issue butt the meal proceeds to go down hill rapidly from there. My salad tasted like it had been sitting out for a while (wet wilted and soggy) and the only flavor it had was the fresh cracked pepper. I honestly expected more from the salad then iceberg lettuce, 2cherry tomatoes and a couple of cucumber slices. Blue cheese dressing was only identifiable because it was what I requested. Prime rib was over cooked but the portion was as ordered. Bake potato was dry and very overdone, 3 servings of sour cream to make it editable. My wife's seafood was equally tasteless, the lobster was great but the scallops tasted funny". Had more bread during the meal cold and tasteless. The best part of the meal by far wast he dessert, chocolate cake with whipped cream and strawberries, plated beautifully. Overall a 2.0 for the meal quality was mediocre at best, desert and service would rate a 4.5 (Callie was a 5.0 as a server). And the owner manager did not come by our table but did visit all the other tables. On the way out she said how was your meal I said very underwhelming and she just glared at me. I didn't complain to keep our 36th wedding anniversary fun, but after getting in the car and driving off my wife stated that wasn't worth it we will find a new anniversary place. In my opinion we could have eaten at a big box steakhouse (T/R) 5 times and higher quality for the ($150) price.

Eventually I had to walk over to our server as she catered to other tables....multiple trips as we patiently waited. I told her we never received our drinks and at this point wanted our bill. Wife never even received her birthday dessert that was offered. Did I mention we were told there was a 1.5 hour limit of table time? Fair enough if you provide the proper service. Server returns to mention we weren't charged for those drinks we didn't received.....well duh! The server talked to the manager about this mishap on my wife's birthday. I asked what was managements response. The server suggested they comp one of 2 appetizers we ordered and the manager declined. What????? And the manager didn't visit our table to apologize! 3 people. Approx $150.00 bill and your manager won't comp a $10 appetizer after your team drops the ball more than once during a birthday event. You didn't even visit our table. Management 101 failure
