First time in a Long Horn, now, I am taking into account they were extremely busy so im going to be gentle. In the door, packed with people, still very clean and nicely lit in fact, as busy as they were staff were still cleaning and vacuuming. The menu had great choices but im a small guy,wish there were smaller steaks. I ordered the smaller T-Bone which was mediocre. My wife ordered the ribs and honesty all the food was mediocre. The Brussels sprouts were bomb!!! In the end, I wouldn't rush back but id eat there again if I had to. read more

They got literally everything wrong to the point where me and my partner thought "did they give us the right table?". My steak was supposed to be medium, looks like they barely cooked it. My partner got broccoli and fries, only got fries. We asked for ketchup, it took 10 minutes. The food itself for my steak reheat took 20-30 minutes. I have recently eaten at several different locations. I have to say that they have bested my old favorite Outback by a wide margin. Only one bad experience in Winchester, Va. and that was to server's error. Their chicken bite appetizer is off the hook for $9.99. The salads are still pretty generous and fresh. The ribeye is tender and flavorful. Hot bread and butter...what more could you ask for from a fast food steak house. The server in Fredericksburg, Va., Alice D. I believe, was terrific and took great care of me. I was not rushed at all which happens all to often in these steakhouses. She made this visit a memorable one. Remarkably good value. The burger must've weighed at least 8 ounces. It was cooked to "medium" perfection. It came with a side order of a baked potato with sour cream, butter and spring onions. They included a small loaf of bread, flatware, and mustard and ketchup.. The baked potato was also a very good size and was baked to the point where it was very creamy. You would be hard-pressed to get a burger this good at Five Guys or some other high end burger place. All for $11.12. I don't know how they can do it for this price. Happily surprised that for memorial day weekend, they weren't super busy but we also arrived @ 4:45 so maybe they got busier later. Food was good - sirloin and filet for me and hubs. Spinach dip and 2 'adult' drinks. I do have a few things that were a bit disappointing....I ordered their red sangria - to MY fault, I didn't specify what size...to our waitresses fault, she didn't ask yet brought me a tankard size glass(clearly the more expensive size). All foods, with the exception of dessert, came out really quickly. We had hardly touched the appetizer when r salads came and were about half way through those when the main course came. Table was loaded with dishes. Tried to finish up the salads before the steaks got cold. Again tho, food was good and cooked as ordered. Dessert took a bit longer to come out which was fine as we needed time to settle our stomachs. Overall a good experience, but we felt rushed and I definitely didn't need the tankard of sangria - a small size would have been plenty and honestly, it tasted like straight up fruit juice - no wine flavor at all. Hubs said his Jack & coke was good. We like Longhorn and will probably be back - we'll just be more mindful and definitely state what size of drinks we want. Also, and maybe it's just me or the waitress we had....while she was very friendly and accommodating, it felt like she was speaking to us as if we were toddlers. Subject: Disappointed Visit -- Poor Service Experience with Waitress Alexis F. Today, my son and I met for lunch at the Fredericksburg LongHorn -- he was coming from Alexandria and I from Richmond. We meet here every couple of months, and it has always been an enjoyable experience with excellent food and top-notch customer service. Unfortunately, today was very different. We were seated in the main dining area instead of our usual spot in the bar section, where service has consistently been exceptional. Our server, Alexis F., made this visit notably unpleasant. From the beginning, her attitude came across as impatient and self-focused. When she first approached, she took our drink order -- I requested a LongPour Strawberry Margarita (she did ask whether I preferred salt or sugar), and my son ordered a soft drink and the Tonion appetizer. She immediately followed up by asking if we were ready to order entrées. I politely explained that we weren't in a rush, as this was a special lunch for us and we rarely get to spend time together. About five minutes later, she returned with the soft drink and bread and again asked if we were ready to order. I reiterated that we wanted to relax and enjoy our drinks and appetizer first. The appetizer arrived about ten minutes later, but my margarita still hadn't come. When I asked about it, she curtly replied, "It's coming." When she finally brought the margarita, it was served in a regular tall liquor glass (with an excessive amount of salt) instead of the proper margarita glass. She didn't offer to pour it or present it courteously -- she simply set it down on the table rather cockily and dismissively, then walked away. Once both drinks and the appetizer were finally in front of us, we began to settle in, but a few minutes later she returned again, asking, "Have you figured it out?" I said yes -- and was met with yet another dismissive tone and body language. Her impatience was clear, and it created an uncomfortable dining experience. My son even tried to smooth things over, but it was obvious she was irritated and rushing us. I was on the verge of asking the general manager to intervene, as I've never been treated with such disrespect at any restaurant. Alexis needs serious customer-service training -- particularly in reading the pace and energy of her guests, rather than imposing her own. I was so unsettled by her behavior that I didn't finish my meal. I stepped away to the restroom to cool off, and my son -- being the peacemaker he is -- quietly paid the check and requested takeout boxes to defuse the tension. My wife and I are longtime LongHorn customers, from Virginia to Hawaii, and this was the first time I've ever experienced such poor service. What made it worse was that this was likely the last lunch my son and I will share here before he relocates out west. It was meant to be a meaningful, relaxed meal -- not a rushed and uncomfortable one. Had I received the check, I would have left only a small tip and a note explaining why: guests should never feel pressured to order quickly or have food pushed at them before they've even enjoyed their appetizer. Being disrespected and hurried to meet a server's personal pace is unacceptable. This visit was a major disappointment, and I sincerely hope management addresses this issue. We were celebrating my daughter and my birthday dinners. The food and service was very good and oh my the dessert was huge split in half still big! My only complaint is that the horse shoe by the small light was filthy. Manager have your staff as they clean the table to clean the good luck shoe. Great food and great service equates to an experience that exceeded expectations based on the current 3 star rating. Stopped here after going to the amusement park during the weekend and the restaurant was full. We did plan ahead of time by reserving online and this helped reduce our wait. Upon arrival we were told it would be approximately five minutes. They were accurate with this estimate which was much appreciated after pre-burning calories walking around Kings Dominion. Immediately noticeable was the amount employees working. Having what appeared to be a higher than industry average ratio of employee to customer ratio prevented any delays between table visits and drink and food delivery. The waitress too was so nice and loved her enthusiasm and making sure we were satisfied from start to end. As for the food, it was well prepared and decent portions. I wasn't a fan of the Parmesan topping item that goes on the steak as an add on, so I would skip that next time. Waitess was excellent, food was cooked perfectly! BUT we were disappointed of the fact that this Longhorn did nothing SPECIAL for Birthdays, and the MILITARY only get a discount once a month. This is when WE learned that these are franchises, and some owners choose to be kind, and others choose to be SELFISH! WE ARE so happy OUR local Longhorn is generous! Even though the little BIRTHDAY brownie cake IS SMALL, from our Longhorn, it was a kind gesture, and three of us were able to sing Happy Birthday, and get a bite each. If you enjoy sitting in the dark and guessing what greasy slim is on the table because you can't see due to the light fixtures being broke then this would be your place. Not only does it just smell like mildew with a note of stinky feet in the waiting area but the science project growing on the table left us wanting to wash our hands at the nearest water source. The ONLY pleasant part of this shit show was the sweet hostess which was quickly snatched by the young girl who sat us and when we asked if the light fixture was working at the booth she rudely stated the light blub was broke....okay then fix it. This was in the evening as the sun is setting and we didn't even realize the menus were in front of us as they too are dark and blend in with the dark ambiance. We just got up and left. Go to a real steakhouse not this place it is a total joke. Thank you to the LongHorn staff for horrible customer service again aside from the host it saved us from wasting time and money on this train wreck! I took my Sister and my Cousin there for dinner. I ordered the T-bone steak medium well as did my Sister. My Cousin ordered the Salmon and salad combo. Everything was great. I came here 2 days ago during my stay in Fredericksburg. I've heard that Longhorns are a hit and miss, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Full disclosure, I have never been to another Longhorn before so I can only compare this place with an standard steakhouse. In my opinion I think this place was good. For example, My fillet was not cooked medium rare as I ordered it and Honestly I don't even think the meat was even seasoned. I added extra shrimp for 7 bucks and I got only 4 shrimps . The rest of the sidings ( rice and Brussel sprouts ) were ok. The bread wasn't warm either. They were also out of different cuts of meat which limited my selection to the 6" fillet instead of the 9". My friend ordered the ribeye and he said it was fine.... He is very polite so he would never admit he didn't like it.... So his opinion doesn't count lol. I had one of the best hospitality experiences on Monday 25Sep2023 at LongHorn Steakhouse. My husband had just had surgery and wanted to eat an early dinner at LongHorn since it is one of his favorite restaurants. After we ate a delicious meal, I requested a box to pack up my leftovers, which included my full ribeye. The sides and bread had filled me up, so I figured I would just eat my steak later that evening. I helped my husband to the car since he was on crutches and still a little groggy from surgery. When we got home, I realized I had left my entire steak in the to-go box at the table. I called LongHorn praying my food was still there. It was not. The manager got on the phone with me and I told him what happened. He kindly offered to make a new steak for me. I was stunned. He then offered a side and I told him it wasn't necessary since I had already eaten my side dishes. He insisted and said the food would be ready in 15 minutes. I drove back to LongHorn and sure enough, the food was ready for me. I was so happy and impressed. Thank you so very much. This chain never disappoints. The burgers are always amazing and the steaks are always well seasoned and tender. This is an after Church favorite because I know I'm gonna eat a heavy meal, but I can walk it off around the mall. I'd always choose Longhorn over the pricier "high-end" steak houses because I know I'm gonna get a good steak for a great price. Longhorn can be a hit or Miss. Today my boss decided to treat our office intern, my granddaughter, to a appreciation lunch before she returns to school. Of course, our intern wanted a Steak. My experience at Longhorn Steakhouse in Southpoint last night... I've never experienced a bad meal from them, until last night. My husband and I were completely disappointed from start to finish. We ordered 2 unsweetened iced teas, a bowl of French onion soup, an 8oz Renegade Sirloin (medium) with 8ct. Redrock Grilled Shrimp, add onions and mushrooms. The shrimp is served over a bed of rice. For our 2 sides, we ordered a sweet potato with butter on the side, and upgraded our salad to the strawberry, feta, pecan salad with dressing on the side. We were splitting everything, so we also requested a second plate. They bring out the teas and bread, and shortly thereafter, the soup and salad. The person who brought our soup and salad, was not our waitress. She dropped it off, and quickly walked away saying nothing. I noticed that I had no salad dressing. I waited. And waited. Here comes the entrée. Again, dropped off by someone who wasn't the waitress. We still haven't seen our waitress on the floor at all, and my salad is just sitting there wilting. Finally she comes out of the back, and I wave her down. I mentioned to her that I need salad dressing, A1, (again) a second plate, our rice was missing, as well as our mushrooms and onions. I hadn't yet cut into the steak. While she runs back to get the requested, I cut into our steak. It's not medium, but rare...possibly medium rare at best. I like a hot pink center, little to no blood. This was a cool, bright red center, and was floating in a pool of blood. It's difficult to see with the low lighting, but when cut, it was swimming in it. When she comes back with salad dressing and A1 (still no second plate, no rice, no mushrooms and onions), I mentioned to her that our steak is undercooked. She requested that I take the steak off the plate, and slide it onto the bread plate, and says they'll put in for a new steak. Out comes the Manager. He was very condescending, arrogant and argumentative. He told me that steak was medium. He basically said that in all my life, I've been getting overcooked steak, even at the most upscale steakhouses. We went back and forth. He said, 'Would you prefer that I make it closer to medium well?' In order to avoid this continuing conflict that was going nowhere, I said, 'Sure'. I'd rather have it slightly overcooked at this point, rather than undercooked. I'd already eaten my shrimp skewers, and my husband had eaten the soup. I told him that we also still needed a second plate (I've now asked 3x for a plate), and the mushrooms and onions, we were being charged extra for. I gave up even mentioning the rice. The waitress comes back with a second plate, and a bowl of mushrooms and onions. Finally, here comes the steak with another sweet potato (butter added to it, instead of on the side as requested, but I'm just hungry and over it). Nobody asks how the steak looks. I cut into it, it's still rare?!?! Waitress comes back. I told her that it's still rare, but we are hungry, tired and annoyed. Quite a bit of time has passed by this point. I ask for 'to go' containers. I figured that we'd come home and pop it in the oven for a couple of minutes to finish it up. Without asking to speak to him, here comes 'Mr. Thinks He Knows it All', again to argue. It was a moot point at this time, since early on, they'd already said they would take the steak off the bill. But no, even though I pulled out my phone and read the meaning behind a medium cooked steak, he continued to act like he knew better. Better customer service would have been to not stand there and argue with me. But he just wanted me to tell him that he was right, and I was wrong. Wasn't happening. Although I appreciate that they took the steak off the bill, it'll be a cold day in... before I go back to that Longhorns.
