Unfortunately his support let him down. I ordered 2 piece roasted chicken and the server brought me fried after Jeremy confirmed they had what I wanted ready. My wife was also w me and was given fried vs roasted but she wanted dark meat. Jeremy asked if I was ok waiting 15 minutes for fresh roasted chicken which I agreed as my wife had to wait 5 for her meal to come correctly. To compensate he gave us a dessert and extra breast (I ordered white meat) when my meal came out. As promised 2 hot juicy breasts and a wing. I literally told my wife after the first bite the chicken was done perfectly. A if it was done cooking seconds after completely done. Well not quite. There was more cooking that needed to be done after my second cut into the breast. No worries, I had two breast and so I cut sliced the other and the juices flowed out and I thought yes the got this right....... Nope. I cut deeper and it wasn't done either. I told Jeremy I just wanted a refund at this point which he gladly gave me and apologized continuously. Sadly, when I looked at my wife's chicken compared to mine, it was quite easy to tell hers was not that fresh. It looked dry and maybe reheated. But can't say for certain bc I didn't ask her how it tasted. The place is clean and very casual atmosphere. But this was a 1 and Done.

Whoever was on the register (a young man) stood out. They treated us very well. Others made sure to address us on the way out and say goodbye. The restaurant was clean and the food was really good. My kids generally eat very healthy and normally hate chicken tenders. They won't eat frozen chicken tenders at all because they are usually overly breaded and just kinda gross. These are NOT that. I had a leftover tender from my daughter and it was sooo good. The kids loved them and my son was impressed. I honestly was so impressed with the service that we want to come back on Sunday for a mommy/son date we have with our friends. You have gained a lifelong customer!

There stood a cheerful young lady with a tablet beside the speaker box, hustling orders with the urgency of an air traffic controller at Reagan National. Now I will give them this -- they move people through faster than a tax refund disappears in Washington. I ordered three chicken finger baskets and repeated "unsweetened tea" enough times that it should have become part of the permanent record. Reconfirmed it at the second window too. We were in and out in four minutes flat, carrying enough Styrofoam and paper sacks to feed a Little League team. Six minutes later at home, the first sip of tea hit like liquified hummingbird feeder. That "unsweetened" tea had enough sugar in it to put the city of Fredericksburg on insulin monitoring. Somewhere in that kitchen a man clearly believes every Southerner measures tea sweetness by whether the spoon can stand upright in the cup. Then came the fries. Lord help us. These were pale, limp crinkle fries that looked less "fresh fried" and more "recently thawed beside a space heater." Not a hint of crispness. No golden-brown glory. Just soft potato strips lying in the tray like they had accepted defeat long before reaching the fryer. The chicken itself? Tiny little one-inch strips hiding under enough crunchy batter to qualify as exterior siding. Crispy, yes. Generous, no. More breading than bird. The Texas toast arrived soggy enough to make you wonder if it had been steamed instead of toasted. Calling that "Texas toast" is an insult to a state that once fought a war over standards. The lone survivor in this culinary rodeo was the sauce. That special sauce is carrying the entire franchise on its back like a weary mule climbing Pike's Peak. I finally asked my grandson if he had eaten there before. He admitted he had not. He'd simply been told it was great and figured nobody could really mess up chicken fingers and fries. Well. Humanity continues to innovate. Strike Raising Cane's from the regular rotation unless it is 2:00 in the morning, every other restaurant in Virginia is dark, and your soul is screaming for fried chicken through the fog of poor decisions.

As a longtime Cookout fan who first discovered the chain during late night college runs in North Carolina, I always make a point to stop by whenever I'm near one of their northernmost locations in Fredericksburg, VA. Over the years, Cookout has come a long way from the plain white Styrofoam trays to the new branded paper boxes with vent holes, which do a great job of keeping fried foods crispy and fresh. I've dined inside this location about half a dozen times and have always had a great experience. The restaurant is consistently clean, the staff are friendly, and service is quick. My go to order is the Cookout Tray with a big double burger prepared Cookout Style, which means Carolina chili, slaw, cheese, and raw onions. I usually get fries and onion rings as my sides. Even though the tray used to be $3.99 back in my college days, the current price of $6.99 still feels like a great value considering the portion size and quality. On my most recent visit, I was extra hungry and decided to try a second mini tray for $5.99. I went with two corndogs as the main and added cheese bites and hush puppies as sides, plus a Snickers milkshake to top it off. Everything came out hot, fresh, and exactly how I remember it. The milkshake was thick and creamy, just the way it should be, and I was absolutely stuffed by the end. Cookout's big double burgers, whether you get them Cookout Style or Cheddar Style with grilled onions, cheese sauce, and bacon, are easily some of the best fast food burgers for the price. Between the generous portions, variety of options, and late night hours (many locations stay open until 3 a.m.), Cookout continues to deliver on both taste and value. Overall, this Fredericksburg location has never disappointed me and remains one of my favorite stops when I'm craving a classic Cookout meal. Five stars all around for great food, friendly service, and consistent quality.

So, recently I stopped in here for lunch and got one of their "2 for" deals - I tried two of the Checkerburgers, with everything. I also noticed they have an extra large version of their fries and since I absolutely loved their fries, I got it. First off - Placing my order - Was Complicated! Why can't people who work drive-thrus in this country speak and understand fluent English? This is far from being anything offensive, it's honest - I had a tough time simply asking what comes on the burger. While the service was friendly enough, the language barrier was ridiculous and frankly, unacceptable. The food - The burgers appeared to be made with stale buns. They had that texture which is prevalent when they've been exposed to air too long. Could have been because I got there around 10:45AM for "lunch" but that's no excuse. They should NOT be serving from a patch of buns opened the day before. Either way, these buns were no good. The meat wasn't hot, it didn't even melt the cheese. I found this horribly disappointing, as it's the reason I no longer eat at McDonalds - they do this "warmer drawer" mess that keeps meat lukewarm, but not hot enough to melt the cheese. Well, it seems Checkers is also serving meat that isn't hot enough to melt cheese - unacceptable! Finally, the fries - They tasted like waffle cone! They had a sweet and odd back note to them, which isn't what I'm familiar with. I wonder if they were fried in the same vat as a dessert item they also make/serve? Either way, I tossed them out after eating about ¼ of the cup of them. I was so disappointed with this visit that it'll be another 8 years before I come back.

The soda fountain could have been a little cleaner. Everything was very sticky, and the tray was overflowing. The tables and around the tables were clean.. The hush puppies, biscuits, and the macaroni and cheese were the best I've ever had from a fast food restaurant. As for the chicken, it smelled amazing. Unfortunately, from my taste, I found it very salty and greasy. The chicken was well flavored, but it was just way too salty for me I also tried their banana pudding and unfortunately, once again, at least from my taste, it was lacking the right flavors. I did try their honey butter chicken biscuit sandwich I found that to be delicious So for that alone, it's totally worth a trip.
