I literally had a conversation with my friend over what restaurants are worth reviewing, and we both agreed we probably wouldn't review chain restaurants. But that lead me to looking up the Texas Roadhouse I recently went to and wow, the score does not match my experience here! We came with a big group since we were visiting family in Fredericksburg, and it is one of uncle's favorite restaurants, so our expectations were already pretty high. There was a fairly long wait, about 30 minutes I think? So we were pretty hungry at the end of it. Which was just as well, since there was a LOT of food to go around. The bread was so delicious we asked for seconds and even thirds. It came out really warm and the butter was delicous! And the blooming onion came out and was fried so crisply, each tendril of deliciously crusted onion came loose so easily, perfectly sized for dipping in the sauce, it was heavenly. I'm not sure what to say about the steak - really big, juicy, delicious, I'm pretty sure when it finally came out, I just stopped thinking. It was just a very raw experience, just me and food, the food and me, and we became one. Very quickly, the steak disappeared. It was my first time at Texas Roadhouse, and I went on the weekend so it was very packed. However, the wait for a table for two was only about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad. Our server was extremely welcoming and explained everything on the menu really well. My boyfriend ordered a side of chili, but it came out cold. Other than that, the rest of the food was really tasty and enjoyable. Because it was so busy, the restaurant was pretty loud. They also put on performances for people celebrating birthdays, and since it was so packed, there seemed to be quite a few happening while we were there. It was a little disruptive, but it's something the place is known for, so it wasn't too surprising. Overall, still a good first experience. read more

Ok I'm a die-hard fan of Texas Roadhouse. However it wasn't a full house when I stopped in. Waitress was alright however I felt she waited on the table next to me more. I ordered the 8 oz steak and shrimp combo. Def didn't look like the picture when I got it. I said something and she's like, idk ‍ why it looks like it does. It honestly looks like a hot mess. Shrimp was undercooked, steak was a little too over done, bread was good, and the potato was a midget. Then when I got home I realized my receipt was jacked up .. how much did she really charge me extra? Yea a lot of. Extra money... I got mushrooms great however don't charge it as shrimp. I don't know how this location has an average of 3 stars. I'm not really a chain restaurant type of person, but this location was convenient for a family meet up. It impressed the whole group! I called ahead for a group of 10 and Lilliana set us up perfectly with no wait time on a Saturday during the lunch crowd. Our waitress Roslyn was fantastic fresh bread delivered consistently and drink refills brought without asking. Excellent service. Everyone's food was well cooked and great cuts of meat. We ordered takeout today. A filet and a Fort Worth Ribeye. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT order takeout steak. They put the worst cuts of meats in the d trees skeptics line because they know you won't bring it back. Trust me, if we ate inside tonight both these steaks would have went back and most likely would gave left and said keep it. Yeah steaks have fat and sometimes a little cordy, but for the price of a filet you expect to eat more than half and the ribeye was only 1/3 edible. This place seems to always be crowded, but I'm not sure why. Our recent visit to the Texas Roadhouse was quite disappointing. We got on their waitlist and when arrived we texted arrived and we received a text back saying to stay close and that we would receive a text when they were ready to seat us. We waited what I considered a reasonable time before I approached the hostess and told her that we were on the waitlist and asked her when we would be seated. My brother and I went to check this place out. Though It was super crowded on the weekend, the hostess was friendly. As you walked in, there's a display of steaks in the case which you can choose which particular cut you want. Our server Carlos was great, knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered 1) Rattlesnake Bites 2) NY strip 3) Herbed crusted chicken 4) Cheese fries 5) Grilled salmon. The rattlesnake bites are diced jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese lightly fried and served with a Cajun dipping sauce. These were super delicious especially with the sauce. It's a must! The NY strip was cooked medium rare, topped with sauté onions and served with a loaded potato was delicious and amazing. The herbed chicken was juicy but appears to be flatten by a presser served with a loaded potato. The cheese fries topped with chopped bacon was okay. The grilled salmon was tasty and served with a loaded potato. The restaurant was clean and filled with old portfolios and souvenirs. I will definitely make a return visit. read more

Oh TRH...how you've disappointed us! We've recently moved to this area and having been a weekly visitor to the Ashburn TRH, we were excited to see a location in the Fburg area. We visited once - I ordered the kabob(not my usual order) and the meat was tough. I thought to myself, this is why you should always stick with what you know and like. We went a 2 and time and because it was 110 degrees outside, I went for the steak salad (again, not my usual but I have had it in Ashburn and it was always good). Again, steak was tough to cut. The past weekend we had family in town and took them. THIS time I ordered my usual (6 ounce sirloin) and yet again...for the 3rd time, it was tough as leather. I requested medium cook and it was cooked to my request, however, I could barely get my fork through the meat and cutting it was just plain hard! I finally told my husband how disappointed I was in our visit and he, surprisingly agreed! Said I all of our visits, his meat had been extremely tough and chewy. We had not spoken of our opinions prior to our last visit so knowing that it wasn't just me being picky, kinda nailed down the fact that we won't be returning to this TRH in the future. We've never had a bad steak from the Ashburn location - you could cut a sirloin with a butter knife, that's how tender it was, so not sure who is ordering/supplying the Fburg location with their cuts, but they need better cuts. Judging from the long lines waiting to get in to TRH, my review may not make a difference, but personally, we're taking our business elsewhere. I went into Texas Roadhouse (Fredericksburg,Va) tonight and the manager on duty Kendal denied me of using my military id saying that location no longer honors that .Also with Kendal bringing out my side salad she looked very angry and seemed like she had better things to do then be there. I have used my military id on previous occasions at this location and multiple other locations. Very disappointed in the manager not honoring what Texas Roadhouse website saying that they honor a military discount. My server grace did a very good job checked on us and all of our food came out correct and hot. Not very sure if i will return with how the manager acted tonight. Came here for lunch with my family. Good food but the whole experience while there was bad. We went during the lunch rush and only waited a few minutes before being seated. We ordered our beverages and a Cactus Blossom. The Cactus Blossom was crispy and well seasoned. Unfortunately, that's where the good part of the review and experience ends. My father tried to order medium rare prime rib but was told that only after being open less than 2 hours they were out of the prime rib. We proceeded to continue with our orders of 2 sirloin steaks and a ribeye. Once our food arrived, the experience continued downhill. My father ordered a medium rare ribeye and received his steak well done. My mother ordered her sirloin steak medium well and received medium rare. Management replaced the steaks since they weren't cooked correctly the first time. The food was delicious but the experience of having to send food back took away from our other food. While waiting for our food to be replaced our sides got cold. The service was just as bad as the food experience. Before our drinks arrived I asked my server CJ, for another fork since mine fell on the floor. I had to ask 3 times for a fork even after my entree had arrived and my server never brought me one. I had to go ask another server to bring me one. Overall, the service and cooking of food need a lot of improvement. A steakhouse should know how to cook a steak to order and a customer shouldn't have to ask 3 times over a 40 minute span for a fork and still not receive it. read more

Hostess tried to seat 5 people at a table for 4 and asked if one of us could pull up a chair in between the table they wanted us at and another with people sitting at it... umm no. We got moved and our server was good, but had a section with large parties already seated. Took a bit to get silverware and napkins. She was friendly and did a good job for what she was given in her section. Only two meals were ordered and an appetizer and one bowl of chili. Took quite a while to get the two meals, both a 6oz sirloin and sides. Why does this location still have beans in their chili?!? Go back to the original recipe.... The one in Maryland did! Went yesterday evening for dinner, a Wednesday dinner around 5:30pm. First they keep sitting groups of 5-6 in booths that are set up for 4 ppl. These aren't big booths, and we struggled with 5 and 3 were kids. The table next to us was 6 adults, and I overheard them say they waited 30 mins to find out that they were going to be seated at a booth, no one asked if a booth was fine etc. it was just assumed and when they asked about waiting longer for a table instead the server replied there were none available (no it will take this much longer, etc, just "no") I'm honestly surprised they didn't walk out. Service was not good. The server kept forgetting things. We ordered 2 appetizers, we only got one. We asked if they had anything that listed food allergies, she had no clue. ‍ okay I get it not everyone knows where to find out or where to look when someone asks that question, I looked it up myself online, not a big deal. She never refilled our drinks even though we asked twice, and she forgot one of our sides, we had to waive down the manager. Who didn't even apologize. Last Sunday we visited this restaurant to get some great food, drinks and watch the football game. I had been to this location once before to pickup a to-go order. This time we dined in. We sat in the bar booth area to watch the game. The food was well seasoned an absolutely delicious as most Texas roadhouses are. The drinks were absolutely amazing.
