For two years we had the most perfect steaks. We never sent it back even once. Unfortunately in the past 2 months the food has been terrible. I had a tough filet. The second one they brought was too. How is that possible? The manager told me they have no control over the meat they receive. Then they charged us for the steak I left on the plate. Love, love, love their Flo's filet. It's all I've ever ordered there. It is so good. You can almost cut it with your fork without your knife. And the sides are really delicious too. It's a little bit on the expensive side but well worth it. My family and I go there probably 4 to 5 times a year, which isn't much but it's our place to celebrate milestones. The service is always good with very friendly service staff. And the folks behind the scenes doing the cooking know what they're doing and do a good job. My husband and I visited this location a few weeks ago. The service was not the greatest, and the food did not taste well. My husband spoke to the manager, and the manager was understanding of the concerns, but really not sure if it helped. We eat here about once a month and it has never been disappointing. Great ribeye, hamburgers, Ny Strip, the original old faithful Cheddars chicken tenders. Salmon, I think I have had everything on the menu and it has always been good and reasonably priced for what you receive. If they had diet Dr Pepper I don't know that we would eat anywhere else. After reading the reviews, I was a little leery. My parents and I went in for lunch with a gift card. Dad and I both had the petite filets... one medium, one medium rare... both cooked to perfection. Always a great steak and other items. Generally good service and they try to regularly introduce new items to keep the menu fresh. The management is always on hand to check on you and if anything goes wrong they are quick to fix it. We like LongHorn as a chain and tend to frequent them wherever we live. Its for this reason that this location does not get 5 stars. For some reason it often smells really bad. Its often so bad upon entering that it turns my stomach. We have commented about it to the staff and sometimes we get comments like "yeah, its bad right?" and other times its like "I guess I don't notice it anymore". But nothing really is ever done about it. Still we will be back but I'd ask to be seated in the back, and if you have to wait for a table I suggest you stay outside until they are ready for you to avoid the rancid smell up by the host's desk. read more

After being on the phone for fifteen to twenty minutes, and after clearly stating that I was ordering ahead for dine in, AND after conveying my order, the person on the phone then refused to finish the order. Apparently, there is some policy or practice of not taking dine in orders in advance....ok, that sucks. But much worse to me was that, in this case, the "manager" on the phone was simply asserting some power (as the order was done, and of course if there is a policy who would know that) versus practicing reasonable hospitality, then conveying they have x or y reason why they cannot do that all the time. So after ordering our meal, the French onion Soup can watered down, next my meal came, wrong, I ordered the 12 oz ribeye, I got some over cooked sirloin, so they took that back, came with my steak, forgot the mushrooms, waitress stated I didn't order mushrooms, excuse me, why are you arguing with the customers, I was already getting upset, by this time my husband was 1/2 finished with his meal, well my steak was well done, I ordered it Med rare, so now I am not eating, finally she comes with a small portion of mushrooms, I said forget it, the steak is wrong, my husband is almost finished eating, I don't need anything, after about another 15 minutes a manager/hostess comes to the table and said I have taken your meal off the receipt, wow...I came to have a nice dinner with my husband, he ate alone, and the offer to take the meal off, I would think that is the least they could have done! I didn't get to eat. Not sure if the Manager has changed but they clearly have gone down hill. Note to self: do not go at shift change, the kitchen was changing staff and so were the servers. Everything I've ever had at longhorns (anywhere in the country) has been great. Visited the Joplin, Mo location tonight and what a disappointment. I have never ate at a Longhorns before tonight. The breads was ok, but the butter hard and a chore to get out of the butter dish and clump on your bread. I ordered the White Cheddar cheese mushrooms for $8.49 and got 5 half mushrooms. . We received or salads (my wife and I) and they tasted plain, and the croutons tasted moldy. My ribeye was cooked correctly, but the lemon butter they put on it took away from the flavor of the meat. If I knew it would have came this way, I would have ordered it without. Wife's prime rib was bland with the taste of oregano, mashed potatoes had no flavor. I'm sorry, but I can get a better ribeye, hot rolls, soft butter, and cheaper price at Texas Roadhouse. Pretty sure I won't be back. read more

BAD FOOD AND NON-EXISTENT SERVICE for a mere $50-75 After reading several positive reviews, my husband and I decided to try Longhorn. It was a Sat. night 5pm with a 20 min wait. (Probably our first mistake.) It was crowded but not completely full. "Mason" was our server. The last time we went to a steak house, we ordered large steaks and took the leftovers home for another 2-3 meals. That was the plan this time. When your wages depend on tips, it is a good idea not to start the night by insulting the customers. After stating I would order the bone-in ribeye - Mason immediately retorts, "are you going to split it? Should I bring 2 plates?" I responded, "No, I will be taking it home." He then proceeds to think that I meant that none of it would be eaten and started a conversation asking if he should even serve it or just bring it out in a to-go box. No Mason, keep up. He had to clarify the straight-forward side order 3 times as well. He then turned to my husband who ordered a large filet. He asked as if in wonder - "the LARGE 10 oz filet?" Yes, we are old people actually ordering steaks at a steak house, why is this so surprising? There are people all around us ordering even more than we are and their choices do not seem to be questioned. The $8+ cheese mushroom appetizer was delivered by someone else who walked off with no side plates to eat it. The order got colder and colder as we looked all over to flag down Mason to get plates. Once notified, he said he'd be right back.... 6 minutes later. By the time we got side plates, the appetizer had cooled off. He apologized for the delay in the entrees. They were ordered to be delivered together with the appetizer but that didn't happen by a long shot. The steak orders eventually were delivered by someone else and mine was placed in front of my husband and vice versa - easily changed. My ribeye was heavily salted on both sides but cooked medium (I ordered med-rare). It was pink but tough and chewy. I can cook a better steak at home. My husband's filet was ordered medium. It was less than 1-inch thick, solid brown and dry - overly well done. I immediately wanted to send it back. He didn't want to wait for another order. Hey, if we must pay $28 for a steak, it better not be cooked completely wrong AND inedible. I flagged down Mason again where he said he'd get another one on the grill. We waited so long, I split my steak with my husband and we both finished before the re-order arrived. When it did - it was over-cooked as well. They didn't even get it right the second time. In the end, the manager took the filet off the ticket. That helped. Unfortunately, it didn't change the neglect or the overwhelmingly bad food. The French fries were limp, cold, unseasoned and had lots of bad spots on the potatoes. They must have thawed the frozen broccoli on a plate and served it. It was ice cold and sitting in water, also flavorless. Mason did some quick repetitive apologies at the end when he handed us the bill hoping to redeem his tip. Before that, he couldn't be found. No drink refills, no checking if we needed any steak sauce (yes, which we never got), no checking if everything was prepared property (nope) - etc. Basically, he insulted me, served horrible food, and then disappeared until it was time to be paid. Sorry Longhorn. Not coming back. You ALL blew it. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. read more

Rarely have we been disappointed. Crusted Chicken Parmesan, Rib-eye sandwich and any of the steaks are our faves.

Server could have killed me! The server said they had Clam chowder and i asked if it was Boston or Manhattan. She didn't know. It turned out to be Lobster chowder of some kind, which I am allergic to, but I couldnt tell until i started to eat it. I got very sick at the restaurant and when i spoke to the manager and let him know that kind of mistake could potentially kill someone, he could have cared less!
