We went to longhorn steakhouse this evening and the service by Luba was excellent.. we have never had a better waitress ever.. she was very happy to see us got our drink orders fast, and brought out bread.. always coming back to see if we needed anything.. took our dinner order and came quickly and always coming back to see how we were doing and to enjoy our meal.. seems like she came back every 5 minutes.. then refilled our drinks.. Had my mom in town she wanted a burger so we decided on longhorns. I'm not a big steak eater so I don't frequent longhorns but my lady is. We all ordered a burger and I have to say they were all cooked the way we ordered them. The service was great our server and she was great she was tired but you know what she fought through it had a great personality and a beautiful smile. The place was packed we thought we were going to have to long wait but it wasn't long and it wasn't short to where you thought they microwaved it but we received our food in good time they were hot not too hot everything was cooked right cheeses were melted veggies tasted fresh. Tony and I had lunch at Longhorn Steak House in Sarasota FL...not my first choice but I asked him to pick! Tony got a Steak Cheeseburger Well Done w Seasoned Fries and a Bud Light Draft. I went with Baked Potato w butter and sour cream on side with a bowl of French Onion Soup and a Raspberry Lemonade to drink! Well I ate maybe a 1/8 of meal and my stomach wasn't having it so I got it to go! Tony enjoyed his meal but burger was under done! What a disappointment! I ordered the 9 Oz filet medium rare. The first steak I was served was virtually well done, as verified by the server. It was nicely seasoned, but the meat was dry. After a lengthy delay, I was served another filet which was raw- red on the inside- also verified by the server, who apologized profusely. I was given the baffling excuse that it was difficult to cook a 9 oz filet to the doneness requested. The filet is their signature dish- if they can't cook it properly, why is it listed first under steak entrees? The 3rd steak was medium rare, as ordered, but not seasoned at all. It looked like the raw steak was re-fired. Since the rest of my party was almost finished, I ate the third one. When something like this happens at a restaurant, the meal is either comped or at a minimum, a dessert or drink is offered on the house. With the exception of an apology, nothing was offered. Terrible. I would give a ZERO, if I could. I was in town to celebrate my birthday with my lady friend and we decided to go to this Longhorn location, in Sarasota, FL. Besides my friend's steak being pretty much inedible, we were swarmed the entire night, with fruit flies! They were on our food and perched on our wine glasses. I felt bad for our waiter, who was well aware of the problem, as he kept apologizing. After dropping $92.94 (I added a 20.00 cash tip for our waiter. This wasn't his fault,) I wrote a letter to explain the issues to Darden management, only to be completely ignored. The waitress was rude. She was a blonde girl hair tied back in a ponytail in her 20's or 30's around 6:30 pm on Friday night . She slammed down my child's cup of water and pushed it. She didn't even acknowledge my cute daughter, I've never met a more unfriendly waitress. Food was delicious. They delivered the incorrect potato, but within two minutes I had the potato that I ordered. The server was awesome and very attentive. He gave us a chance to try to eat our food before he came and asked how everything was. Sometimes servers are too quick to check on their customers, but not this gentleman. He was perfect. My wife and I had dinner here last night 7/16/24 , we haven't been here for a couple years. Our server, Mike took great care of us. Both my wife and I told him that he was the best server we've had for a while. I had the 9oz Philly steak with a sweet potato and Nancy had the Salmon and shrimp dinner. We both couldn't finish our meal so we had great leftovers for lunch today. We also like that they don't have bright or harsh lighting. We like to site side by side in a booth when possible. We ate here Sunday after church. My wife ordered the filet, I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken; we were both extremely happy with our meals. We have been going to Longhorn since the early 2000's and this was the best meal we've had in many years from Longhorn. Salads, sides, entrees, everything was absolutely perfect. My wife called and said we were on luck and to come in. The restaurant is large and was crowded but they did have an open table. The restaurant has booths and tables and was very comfortable. They have a nice menu with options, we decided to skip appetizer and just order our entrees. We both ordered steak, (Go figure, Longhorn Steakhouse), my wife had the filet and I had a ribeye. Our meal came with salad, bread on one side, we both had the mashed potatoes. We also added the mac and cheese and asparagus as extras. Our server Vincent was Fantastic and friendly. He was helpful and attentive. The salads and bread arrived, we were suprised how large they were. Or dinner arrived cooked perfectly and again we were astonished how much food we received. It looked like galf an entire bunch of asparagus, the masked potatoes were a very large scoop with a butter pond floating in the center. The food was all tasty and enjoyable. The steaks have a perfect seasoning and very flavorful. The mac and cheese was also good. We could not finish our meals because it was so much. If your in the Sarasota area give this place a try. Went to Longhorn Steakhouse Gulf Gate and had the worst experience. The food was poorly prepared. Was told my meal came with 3 sides but turns out one of the sides was a supreme side which tacked on an additional $2.99. Of course the waitress didn't have the courtesy to tell me that was not included in the 3 sides. Also, I sent a couple of items back because they were horrible and the replacements were just as bad. An excellent meal Our plan was to have lunch at LongHorn but we were delayed for so long our visit turned out to be an early dinner. That wasn't so bad, the restaurant was not yet busy, and I had a steak instead of a burger. I love steak but seldom indulge. Before the steak I had a salad. I thought the salad was a great beginning. It was large for a starter salad and I really liked their white balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Cool and refreshing, it went well with the table bread. On to the steak, a 6oz sirloin with a parmesan crusted topping. The topping was a generous and flavorful addition. The steak was cooked perfectly, which for me meant not cooked much at all. Yet it wasn't bloody, and sure enough checking the menu afterwards I learned the steak was aged. These people know steaks. The place was great, we had people helping us get settled when we arrived, and had excellent yet not intrusive service the entire meal. While an offer of Key Lime Pie at the end was tempting, we passed on dessert. I'm glad we decided to stop by. read more

It's been a while since we were at Longhorn. While the food was OK I was disappointed in the filet I ordered. It was. a 6 oz portion. I ordered it medium which is supposed to be pink in the middle. It was the thickness of a fast food hamburger patty It definitely wasn't pink in the center. I decided not to send it back as the flavor was decent and we were on a schedule. Another great Birthday dinner. Can't go wrong with Flo's filet mignon. There were 7 of us and everyone was happy.

You would've believe: the fries, fried chicken tenders, and corn on the cob were the best. The fries were fresh and above average from other venues. The chicken tenders were the most tender and delicious, and this is true across all Longhorn's. The corn on the cob was lightly buttered and had light Cajun seasoning, delicious. What I didn't like so much was my half baby back ribs and 6oz sirloin. The ribs came out almost cold, I turned them back and they came out a little burned under but this time much hotter. The sirloin was alright, but I didn't find anything special about it. I asked for it medium and it was well done. I wasn't impressed, that's about it. The service was excellent despite them being short staffed and my waiter running around the tables.
