I experienced a great meal a few nights ago at Grillsmith. Their Hawaiian Ribeye was a large flavorful aged ribeye steak topped with a Hawaiian marinade that added sweetness. Along with this perfectly cooked 16oz steak were chopped grilled pineapple, peppers, and onions. I opted to swap their usual jasmine rice with Au Gratin Potatoes. An outstanding meal. I haven't eaten that much steak in a long time. Mine was a costly meal, expected with the price of meat nowadays. My wife went with a less expensive dinner salad and she was very happy with her choice. It was busy when we arrived for our 6:00 reservations, and loud inside. We were still able to hold a conversation without any trouble. Parking in the back seemed adequate. Service was good. read more

Absolutely freezing (yes, I always bring a sweater along) in this restaurant the evening we were there. All of us froze ! Four in our party had various steak entree's ALL of which were overly salted (I personally love salt and this was crazy salty) We have dined several times at Grillsmith Clearwater and have always enjoyed our meals. Our new favorite when visiting Siesta Key. Tried it for dinner first and everything was prepared top-notch: bacon and pear flatbread is delicious and large enough appetizer for 5. The steaks were high-quality and grilled to perfection as requested. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert was decadent. Excellent local brews on draft. Outstanding service all around. We loved it so much, came back for brunch the next day. The ahi tuna my wife enjoyed was excellent and my steak and eggs were perfect. Our waitress, Bella, was attentive and extraordinarily engaging. We noticed that the manager is very detail oriented and was part of the team helping with literally everything, including translating to a party in Spanish who did not speak any English. The good is the service, the food and the drink. The very bad is they have an idiot customer they allow at the end of the bar to speak on the phone with a loud voice. They need to watch out for all customers not just idiots. read more

First time trying this restaurant out and will definitely be back! The Parmesan breadsticks were brought to the table and were delicious. Stopped in as we were passing thru the area and wow, this place did not disappoint!! We liked the layout, seating and atmosphere inside. The service was great; very Fast and friendly. Our drinks were top notch (smoked old fashioned for me and dragonfruit mojito for my gf). The food was absolutely over the top. Came here for dinner tonight.. we started with to side salads I liked my Caesar side salad , my wife didn't like hers because of the types of lettuce. Next we had their steak egg rolls which were very good. I had the chicken wings,half Buffalo and half Asian. I liked the Asian not the Buffalo because of the rub. My wife liked her fish tacos. Service was terrible! We didn't get our dinners for an hour. They were very busy but the people next to us and two tables down got their dinners and left before we got ours. Real restock Decor. I visited for dinner a few nights ago and sat at the bar, where Kali (I apologize if I've misspelled the name) was bartending. It was during happy hour, but the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. This was my first visit, and I was looking forward to trying the restaurant. The food was excellent, and I genuinely enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, the service at the bar left a very different impression. Throughout my visit, the bartender seemed disinterested in engaging with guests. Responses to simple questions felt short and standoffish, and their facial expressions and interactions with both customers and coworkers gave the impression that assisting guests was more of an inconvenience than part of the experience. As a result, I felt uncomfortable asking for anything beyond my initial order. I had planned to order additional drinks while enjoying my meal, but I ultimately decided against it because I didn't want to feel like I was interrupting or inconveniencing the bartender. I ordered only a glass of Chardonnay and an order of wings, even though I likely would have stayed longer and spent more. Despite my experience, I still left a 25% tip because I believe in supporting service staff. However, the overall interaction has made me think twice about returning, which is disappointing since I'm a local who enjoys trying restaurants throughout the area. I hope this feedback is taken as constructive. The quality of the food was enough that I would consider giving the restaurant another chance, but I sincerely hope that if I return, the level of hospitality behind the bar is more welcoming and attentive. A friendly and engaging bartender can make all the difference in an otherwise great dining experience. read more

First of all as soon as i walked in i was rudely looked at by the girl yorgina, i felt judged and didn't feel welcomed. Greeted by General Manager Joe Joe. He was friendly and welcoming. Asked us if it was our first visit and we said yes. He seated us and asked about our vacation. He was very personable and made us feel that he was genuinely happy that we chose this restaurant. Food was delicious. Perfectly cooked to order, seasoned just right. Husband said best fish he had while in Sarasota! Cocktails were delicious as well. Joe Joe visited our table at the conclusion of our meal asking if we enjoyed our meal. Some of my favorites are their 7 oz filet, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, honey glazed carrots when available, the Pulled Pork Handheld, Blackened Wings (dry-rubbed), and the BEST Caesar salad with homemade dressing ever! Sydney, behind the bar, is one of the warmest and sweetest people you'll ever meet, but don't let that fool you. She is smart as a tack-remembering your drink and menu preferences, and fast as lightening, taking care of the 20+ seat bar as well as preparing drinks for the servers attending the dining room. Introduce yourself to her-she'll remember you! There is a wonderful mix of visitors and locals alike through the restaurant, so don't be shy-come and say Hi! We had dinner at Grillsmith last night. The food was delicious. I didn't realize that it was still happy hour and the five dollar wine was a nice surprise. The place is pretty crowded when we got there, but we were immediately seated at a high top at the bar. We will definitely go back before we head north for the summer. read more

This place is always crowded! In a good way......we got a gift certificate and have now been back 3 times already! We have not met an unfriendly staff member. My wife, our baby, and I keep finding ourselves back at Grillsmith. We've been here five times now and each visit has been just as good as the last. I've had the burgers, the filets, the ribeyes--the steaks are the clear standout. Cooked perfectly every time. The appetizers and pasta are great too, and for dessert, the key lime pie and upside down pineapple cake are both worth a try. But the real winner here is the service. A huge shoutout to Bella and Sam, who have both taken amazing care of us. They are kind, thoughtful, and attentive in all the right ways. When you're dining with a baby, that kind of service makes all the difference. Grillsmith has earned a spot in our regular rotation. Amazing food, great people, and never a bad experience. Ordered take out as we weren't in the mood to dine in- no curbside pick up..... starter was the Filet Tip Egg-roll (just that - ONE egg roll for $14.50). Cooked in what was obviously old oil, tasted like deep fried oil, not a great way to start. We had fish tacos and burger for a light meal. Fish Taco is basically a single fish stick in a tortilla. Although the presentation was less than appetizing, theta o taste was very good. Wife had the burger which was average at best. Big money for a meal that tasted and felt like Chili's. I was in town visiting my mother and we went here without a reservation. Figure 5:30 on a Wednesday shouldn't be a problem, right? Well, we found out it's all day happy hour on Wednesdays and they were swamped. Even so, they were able to get us seated right away and not have mom standing and waiting, as she doesn't do well standing for a long time. The service was outstanding and they were quite attentive to us. The food was certainly good and the bananas foster was excellent. The one thing I noticed was the manager, I think his name was JoeJoe, going around and playing an active role in helping the servers.
