We dine, at the longhorn fruitville location at least two times a month for dinner or lunch. tonight's visit was beyond what we expected! we have had our waiter before by the name of Eric but tonight we got snow not only a little bit more about him but the restaurant and the chain in general since he has been there for 20 years.. I'm usually not impressed with waitstaff to be honest with you I just find them either over eager to get a good tip a rushed and rude none of the servers of this location are like that especially not Eric who somewhat we've seen treats every guest like a welcome guest. as I had a sad and emotional day his ability to do his job and make us laugh and to be on top of his other tables was more than a balancing act it was a reflection of how serious he takes his job and how proud he is to work for a company like longhorn. he made that very clear not flat out but as he talked about the company and especially the employees in the management of the fruitville location. to me he is the definition of a team player. although we've never had bad service Eric remembers us and makes us feel like we need to come back more often and that we will. the food was excellent the service was excellent the new parmesan cheese fries might be a little too fattening since we devoured all of them and three things of ranch dressing love the fries! Thanks Eric and staff in the front of the house and back for making our night and for your service. I will say I've ate at the other location and Sarasota in fact we ate there last week for lunch. and in my opinion the service and the cleanliness of the fruitville location should be highlighted because there is a difference. I highly recommend anyone who's thinking about going to LongHorn steakhouse who hasn't been and I can recommend Eric as a server because I will guarantee you that he would be on top of your table and welcome you like he welcomes us. read more

Today I was in this place with my family, we were attended by a lady who I really don't know what her name was, but she was a lady with light hair, with a very bad attitude, my 10-month-old baby was playing with the painting book that this restaurant offers and she shut up and the lady put her feet on and took away from my daughter, then when we were making the order my sister does not speak English and I was translating and apparently it bothered her, she took care of going to where all the other workers were to talk to her about me and to look at us badly, when it came to collect I was going to pay and she did not approach the table until the card was given to another worker, The food was very good but the attention of that woman damaged all the time. Good place to hang out. Celebrate my birthday with girl friends there and it was wonderful. The filet was nicely cooked. We weren't sure if it was filet mignon or not but after I tasted it, Imho it's not. Went to outback 2 days earlier and theirs is actually better. If you like veggie, try their Brussel sprouts side. All of us like them! They have yummy pecan cheese cake. I dont know the correct name but It's new in the menu, so the picture is there. We ordered four 12oz ribeye steaks for a large party of,seven. The server brought one ribeye and three unidentified substitute steaks and insisted that they all where rebeye's. The manager would not acknowledge us and we had them packaged to,show to our meat professional. The steaks where a lesser cut of bottom round and estimated to weigh max 6- 8 ozs. before cooked. My mother and I were at your Longhorn location on Tuesday evening 4/29/25 around 5 pm. We were served by a very nice young server named Travis and he was very pleasant and accommodating and the food was very much to our liking. The restaurant was nicely lit and clean. Travis served us our food quickly and we were still able to make it on time to our ballet performance at the Sarasota Opera House in downtown and he even gave us good directions to arrive there. We hadn't been to a Longhorn restaurant since we left New Hamshire. Tonight we went to the one on Fruitville. Everything was absolutely delicious! The baby back ribs were cooked perfectly. The fries were so crispy and well seasoned too. My husband had the lobster bisque and claims it is now the best he ever had! Great lamb chops! I don't care for any of their soups. The desserts are overpriced and bought in the service. Staff tends to be more stable and more mature than say the Texas roadhouse sides are cheaper at Longhorns than Texas roadhouse. Longhorns is might go to place for lamb chops they cook them perfectly and they are quality meat. Currently the closest Longhorn to me is about 20 minutes, but they are building one here where I live. It's already built. They're just getting ready to start staffing once they're open, they will be my go to place for red meat and we pretty much replaced Texas roadhouse where it's just too noisy too busy, and the stuff is always changing and it's very young and says stupid things to me like it's hard to make a 12 ounce ribeye medium because it's so small. The LongHorn steakhouse that is being built ner Costco on route 64 is not opening up until June 2nd. Last week we went back to the LongHorn on Fruitville Road. When I opened the menu i saw the prices were increased since we were there about a week before. All the steaks went up in price about 20 percent. I asked the waitress if they just raised the prices and she said they just did the day before. Was told my meal came with 3 sides but turns out one of the sides was a supreme side which tacked on an additional $2.99. Of course the waitress didn't have the courtesy to tell me that was not included in the 3 sides. Also, I sent a couple of items back because they were horrible and the replacements were just as bad. I haven't been here since all the covid nonsense when Longhorn had a "limited" menu. When I pulled into the lot to park, the first thing I see is all the trash in the grass and bushes of the parking lot. I don't understand why a manager wouldn't at least walk the lot and make sure the excessive trash was picked up around the restaurant. It's not OK to just leave it. It's not going to clean itself. The restaurant wasn't overly busy when we got there. We were seated quickly. The service was slow, not because the server was slow, it was because there weren't enough of them. The food wasn't bad at all. I'm not sure why with the new menu (full menus are back) there wasn't a BBQ grilled chicken dinner as there used to be. Regardless, I asked the server and he was great. My husband and I went with my parents. We went at 6pm on a Friday night. We were quickly seated. Penelope was our waitress and she was excellent. It was busy and she had multiple tables- but she didn't miss a beat. The refills of soda and tea kept coming, we asked for additional sauces/sides and everything was exactly as ordered. She was kind, efficient, helpful and un-intrusive. She is a pro! The food was great! Especially for the price- it was super yummy and didn't break the bank. My friend invited me to dinner tonight. I ordered a rib eye steak. When served it looked great. But after two bites, it was soooo salty I couldn't continue. I complained to the waitress, she said she would order another one with less seasoning on it. What I got this time was not a rib eye. They actually charged him for the 8 oz., so I guess that's a new way to "upsell" the customers due to poor management. Overall, it took more than two hours to get dinner without appetizers/dessert. It needs to be noted that this restaurant is just a few steps from the Winn-Dixie grocery store, so there is NO reason to be out of a single item on a Friday night during "season" with good management! I came here after driving back from Siesta Beach I'm on vacation and don't know the area well . I figured because I've had a lot of good experiences with Longhorn I'd come to this location. I came in with my mom and son and we were starving after being at the beach all day in the hot sun . We were sat very quickly by the bar at a booth table . Chris was our server and wow did we get lucky to have Chris as our waiter ! We all were saying "this guy Chris is the man "! Let me tell you he was on point at every single second we were there .
