My meal was fine (good steak and salad but my sautéed onions and mushrooms were bland!), but I was forgotten by the bartender because her was wanting to talk to anyone else other than me. I was in the middle of asking about something about the menu when someone else at the bar called for him and he just walked away. We stopped in for an early dinner. It has been a while since I've been to a steakhouse, assuming they have gotten pretty expensive. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that wasn't the case for us. They currently have a promotion called the Aussie 3-course meal, I recall now seeing commercials. You get a soup or salad, an entree with a side, and a dessert, all for 15 to 20 bucks. The two of us ended up spending about $66, that included non-alcoholic drinks, an upcharge on soups, and a 20% tip. Not bad at all. For my dinner I started with their French Onion Soup with a $4 upcharge. It was more typical of what I expect, rich salty flavor with the stringy gooey cheese. I followed that with an 8oz Sirloin Steak. This was on the high end of the entree price range, and to be a little healthy I opted for the vegetables as my side. It was broccoli. The steak was cooked medium rare, just like I ordered it, and it was a good size piece of meat. As my first steak in many months, it was a treat. Not fatty, not real juicy, just good, cooked beef from the first bite to the last. Completing the 3-course meal was a slice of New York-Style Cheesecake with chocolate sauce, another good item to finish what was an excellent dinner. Service was casual and comfortable. Our friends love this particular Outback. Our last experience at an Outback was terrible...food too salty, prime rib tough, burgers overcooked. Well, this Outback was great! Filets perfectly cooked, shrimp was so flavorful, lobster amazing. Great baked potatoes! Served 2 loaves of bread with extra butter. Service was excellent...so patient and kind especially us being very senior citizens (70 & 80 year olds). Water glasses stayed full! Loved the mushrooms appetizer. read more

I recently was there twice which is unusual go be there two times in a short period of time. My sister was visiting with her daughter in law so we all decided to go out to dinner since it had been my birthday. We got there ordered drinks then of course our meal. As always service was great. Food was hot and just as we ordered. They ordered a wonderful desert which was just as amazing of Course I shared it. I have never had a meal that wasn't perfect. Their service is right on . I've been twice after the change of ownership. Prior to that this place was exceptional to the point that the manager would come and ask if your steak was "perfect" and the only possible response was an emphatic "yes"! Not sure why ownership changed but it's not even close to before. Both visits, steaks were undercooked and both times I sat there staring at my food while waiting 10+ minutes for condiments and drinks. On the initial visit I asked to see the manager because it was so shoddy and she offered excuse after excuse and treated me as if I was trying to get something for free. However, I insisted on paying my entire bill because I'm not there for free stuff just a good meal. I waited a few weeks before returning hoping the bugs would be ironed out. Nope! Same things happened and this time I returned an undercooked steak, it was brought back by the owner who exhibited quite an attitude and just basically thrust it at us and said "is that good enough?" Good enough? Good enough! Those two word describe the experience and attitudes of this place . I didn't pay close to $150 for three meals to get Good Enough. How about this? Excellence. Quality. Attentiveness. When people watch their food get cold while waiting for some simple thing like A1 sauce, you have a problem. What used to be my favorite local restaurant is now the last on the list. And I tell everyone I know to avoid this "new" Outback because it's very clear they just don't care. If given the choice, choose anywhere else in Lakewood Ranch, even McDonald's, and save yourself a few bucks. "Good Enough" is what this place strives for. Well below the mark. Steaks aren't as good as Texas Roadhouse but I do like the Blooming Onion Chicken. Also the noise level at TR is so loud you can't wait to get out of there. read more

Menu hasn't been updated much in years. Bar service is apathetic at best; bartenders spend more time in the kitchen than at the bar (maybe they run the microwaves back there!) At least they have runners to deliver the food so it was served hot, but salt seems to be the preferred spice in their "spice blend." I think I go in occasionally just to remind myself how bad it really is. I miss Outback from when it was a great restaurant & a go-to spot for happy hour. The wife and I decided to have a late lunch early dinner Saturday March 1st. Placed a pickup order with Outback at 3:05pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 3:26pm and sent the text from the to-go parking spots. The order was to be complete between 3:36 and 3:41 pm. 3:45 comes and goes, 3:55 comes and goes finally I walk in at 4:10pm and see two woman sitting there with bags of food on the counter. I asked if this was my food and one of the workers looks at me and says I don't know we don't work back here we are on break and then says can't you read the receipt. I was a little shocked at how to spoke to someone asking her a question. She then looked at the other young lady and said this is why we don't take breaks in the to-go area. I take my bag while getting into my car the lady parked next to us rolls down her window and asks are they busy and I replied no one is working the counter but there are bags of food just sitting there. By the time we got home the food was cold, the salads were warm and the croutons were so stale they tasted like they've been out for days. This restaurant usually has its act together don't know what happened today but next time we want steak I'll take my business to Longhorn. read more

Brought my mom here for lunch last week and we both enjoyed our meal very much. Although they only had 2 servers working, they were friendly and efficient.
