This company quoted $16,000 for a complete new heating/air unit which we paid. The bathroom's 3 vents were left un-repaired and leaves the bathroom icy cold. I hate to think how cold it will be in winter. We had them come back out and they refused to complete the work that they overlooked without charging an addtional $550.00. This company is not standing behind their work and we would like to warn anyone considering doing business with them that they are un-reliable. This company gets a -1 out of 10. We've paid a "fair and reasonable" annual maintenance fee to Metal Masters and are MORE than very happy with the service and support they provide, including twice annual "preventive maintenance" checkups. And recently, our 9-year old (very good) Lennox gas furnace began acting up (intermittently). A couple of visits later (very kindly included in our contract), one of their senior techs dropped by and suggested that our intermittent problems might be the result of the computer circuit board which "thinks" for our furnace, was an original version. He suggested replace that with the latest version "board" from Lennox, with totally did the trick. We were happy to pay for two visits for that (again, reasonable), AND Metal Masters got the quite expensive parts under our warranty from the manufacturer. Everyone at MM is also EXTREMELY "Oregon" (kind, polite, mellow and sometimes even funny). So that dealing with them is a pleasure, rather than a chore. During a recent heatwave my A/C decided it would be a convenient time to die, leaving my family in sticky hot nasty temps... Something we are not use to as the house normally stays a cool 72 or so. Since it was a Saturday I knew I would be paying an additional "emergency, after hours rate" with any company that could come out. I also figured I was one of MANY who were probably calling... Meaning my chance of getting cool the same day were probably slim to none. I called a handful of local HVAC companies and were put on their list, next day or 2 days out I kept hearing. I knew if I could get ahold of someone at metal masters I would have a great chance of getting things done quicker. Within an hour of my initial call to them, Mike called me back. I explained my situation and the trouble shooting I had already completed. He said he was down the street and could be there in 10 minutes .... Uh, YES PLEASE!!! Mike was super friendly and knowledgeable and quickly got my unit back up and running, literally saving the day or two (as other companies were quoting me 2 days wait). Metal Masters has been providing annual inspection on my furnace for years. I had a furnace fan that wouldn't shut off and informed them of same explaining the symptoms. They insisting on a service call to diagnose $98. They ordered the new part and installed it for an additional $392. Took less than an hour and the part cost $103. Sent them an email indicating that $250/hour was appalling. No response from management. Will not use them EVER again. I understand they are in business to make a profit but this is gouging & greed! DO NOT USE METAL MASTERS. read more

They made everything right, the owner came out and personally reviewed our system after coming out they determined the compressor on our unit went out. It luckily was covered under warranty and they rebuilt our entire unit free of charge. I hope to have no problems in the future and this will resolve any issues we previously had. Been using Metal Masters for years at my residence. Scheduled a service call due to our AC not cooling as should. The service tech concluded that there was a leak and no refrigerant left in the system according to his tests. To replace the R22 refrigerant would cost $700 and to find the leak would be another $2000. Basically, not worth fixing. I then received a call from their Sales Dept to set up an appointment to look into buying a new unit. I did my due diligence and contacted another company to get a second opinion. They came by the same day and found that the coils were extremely dirty. They cleaned them out and it now works like a charm, for the cost of a service call. Needless to say, I was not happy and called Metal Masters to voice my discontent. There wasn't a manager on that Friday so I was told to contact them on Monday. Spoke to the manager in the Commercial Dept and he apologized and said that I would not be billed for their erroneous service call. Fast forward a few days later, I received an invoice for their $94 service call. Metal Masters is an unethical business. I am now concerned whether my previous service calls were honestly diagnosed. Needless to say, they have lost a long time customer. read more

I recently purchased a home in Medford only to find that rats had made a mess of the flex heating ducts in the crawlspace. Gross!! It turned into a huge project which entailed hiring a pest/clean up crew to remove everything in the crawl space, then an insulation company to re-insulate the subfloor and water pipes and then Metal Masters to replace the flex ducts with steel ducts. Even if rats return to the crawlspace and ignore the billion traps installed there for them, they shouldn't be able to get into the heating system again... I must have talked to 5 or 6 HVAC companies before making a decision and was very apprehensive about making a choice. Each company was so different! One wanted to re-engineer the entire heating system, another wanted to use bubble wrap to insulate, which would not have met code of R-8. Who knew a double layer of R-4 only comes to about an R-5 (according to the manufacturer) - unless you use spacers correctly - which nobody does (again, according to the manufacturer). And then there was another that took one look at the crawlspace, said he wouldn't send his guys down there, and never returned my phone calls. So, in the end, I went with Metal Masters and it turned out to be a surprising, and wonderful decision. Initially, I was scared off by the salesperson/estimator. He was nice enough but seemed way overly eager to get me to sign the contract and pay half up front. I crossed them off my list for this reason. But they have been in business a long time and none of the reviews talked about how they got half up front and then disappeared - so I took a chance. And I just can't rave enough about the two crews that performed the work. Although I dealt mostly with Anthony, every single one of them was super courteous, very accommodating and seemed extremely competent and conscientious. They were worth every cent and much more. Metal Masters was not the most expensive estimate I received, but I really believe they did a better job than anybody else I could have hired. For replacing ducts, I would hire them again in a heartbeat! read more

We needed gas service at a home we just bought, and went to the Gas Utiliy's (Avista's) website. They had Metal Master listed as one of 3 local companies that would come out for a "free in-home review of your equipment needs and a no-obligation analysis and estimate.". I called Metal Master to schedule this, and they said they knew nothing about the info on Avista's page, explained that they don't partner with Avista, and don't come out for a free anything. Out of the 20 or so HVAC companies in the Rogue Valley, Avista listed just 3, from which I am SURE that these companies are generating business. No company forms a partnership like that if it isn't profitable. The fact is, if they came out and did that free analysis, I would have hired them on the spot to connect the equipment or perform whatever repairs were necessary. But alas, Metal Masters is not interested in upholding the partnership agreements that they have established. One of the other companies listed - Glacier Heating and Air - also had not heard of the partnership, but agreed to uphold what was on the Avista site, knowing that such a partnership must exist, or it wouldn't be published on Avista's site. Metal Masters did our whole home with a new HVAC system. Not only were they much less expensive than the next lowest estimate, they installed it in less time than estimated and the guys that worked on the job were among the nicest people that have ever worked for us who weren't already friends. They were courteous, took the time to explain things clearly and thoroughly, and worked with the other people on the job. When we had a small problem, they came out and fixed it for no charge, even though it was three years later. My only question is why someone would highly recommend Metal Masters and only give them four stars. They have five stars in my book and I have recommended them to several others who have used them and been completely satisfied. read more

After 15+ years of service, I am very upset w/ the high minimum service charge for resetting the thermostat ( I was NOT ADVISED there was a charge involved), as the technician had just been at the house 3 weeks prior for the annual check up. I would NOT recommend this company. They installed the furnace to the home I purchased and have offered very few solutions to problems I'm not so sure they didn't help create. Not only that during a recent freeze in temps here I discovered they did not insulate my exterior condenser pipe that they ran outdoors! In my area it is standard to insulate at least. I spoke with 2 other local customers of theres that had the same issue and there furnaces shut down! Both had new furnaces installed from this company a year ago! They failed to insulate any of the condenser pipes they ran outdoors. One construction guy I spoke with couldn't' believe they would do such a foolish thing. He said back east they would never run that pipe outside. I have requested a call 3x + ask the owner to call me with NO response. Do yourself a favor take your business somewhere else. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I was very disappointed by their lack of professionalism and work ethic. I called for a service on my furnace and was asked to pay $119 before the appointment. This was fine until the technician showed up and spent two minutes looking at my furnace before he stood up to leave. I inquired into the cleaning of the fan and coils and the oiling and lubrication of the motor, which is what is normally included in maintenance appointments, to which he said was not. He said the $119 was for him to "look" at the furnace just like a doctor gives you a checkup. At this rate and the 2 minutes he worked, this company would be yielding $3,570 an hour! Well he did compare himself to a doctor. Laughable. I called to get my money refunded which I used to hire a reputable company to come out and service my furnace. This was a 23 point inspection, including the aforementioned maintenance for $105. read more

METAL MASTERS INC on CRATER LAKE BLVD Had warranty work for my top-of-the-line Lennox Brand Furnace. Metal Masters was the only licensed repair place for my furnace. The issue I had was a small leak in the hot water tank. No problem, it was covered under warranty Metal Masters said. Great I thought. NOT! Took two repair men the entire day to replace. (The unit was in place by their lunch break). The had three connections to make: 1) gas line 2) water line, 3) electric line. Metal Masters charged me for two men working a total of 16 hours! $1300 for a warranty repair. They never gave me a quote, even though I asked the repair guys for it several times before they started the job. They just gave me a sly smile. Now I know why. I'd say these guys ripped me off. $1300 to RECONNECT 3 fittings by two guys!!!!!!!!!!! I would not recommend these people. read more
