The igloos are totally worth a visit in the winter. Particularly at sunset the views and colors were stunning. They seat about 10 and you do have to share with other parties unless you reserve one for a high minimum. That did not bother us at all though. There are also heat lamps outside the igloo by several areas of couches for other seating areas. Drinks are expensive but you're paying for the experience which was worth it. read more

This spot has been on my list for a while, I've been dying to get a picture of the view at night and I had a friend visiting last night so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity - boy was I wrong! The only reason that this restaurant gets even 1 star is because of the view - it's truly the only thing going for them (and because I can't rate lower than 1 star according to Yelp). We were stoked to get a table right by the glass railing, someone came over to give us water right away and then a different server came to take our drink order. The drinks came in plastic cocktail glasses, the ones that are like 3 inches tall. My drink had 3 large ice cubes in it and was gone in a blink. I wasn't too annoyed with that part, but definitely not worth $17 dollars if you ask me. So we're drinking our tiny drinks and waiting, and waiting, and waiting....AND WAITING. Our server had taken a break it seems, and was gone for 20 minutes in the kitchen. Not one other server came up to us to take our food order, we were told we had 90 minutes and had to order food if we ordered alcohol. We did the typical eye contact with the other servers and were completely ignored, it was actually almost funny how little they cared about their customer service. So finally, our server comes back and takes our food order, we also ask if she can turn the space heater on for us because it's getting chilly and moments later it starts to rain (we're not covered by anything). She forgets to turn on the heater which is totally a human mistake but it was absolutely insane how hard it was to get someone's attention to help us out. It was like we were invisible. We finally get our food order, the only thing I liked was the pork belly. The shishito peppers were good too, but I think those are pretty hard to mess up. The arancini was blah, didn't really feel like there was any flavor and for a restaurant that sits right in a seaport I was disappointed in their lump crab cakes. We eat in what feels like 10 minutes or less because it's raining pretty good at this point and the cardboard boxes that they serve our food in are starting to get soaked....that's right - CARDBOARD BOXES. We're now just trying to leave because we've been there for almost 90 minutes and we're getting soaked, just desperate for someone to come and bring us our bill. We try waving down the manager, who looks right at us and ignores it. We try making eye contact with any of the other servers but they're literally staring at the ground, it's almost like they're trying to avoid helping anyone out but themselves. Finally we go up to the bar and pay, we literally never saw our server again, not since she dropped off the food. Probably top 3 worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, and I give people a lot of grace because I was a server for 7 years. I would never go back. If you need to get a photo of the view - you should just lie and say you're meeting people so you can get through - snap a quick photo and then leave. And whatever you do - DON'T go to this place hungry. read more

They were literally the best because we were so annoying and excited and they accommodated our madness so well which was very appreciated. The staff was so attentive and the views were immaculate. AWEFUL SERVICE. Disrespectful and rude management. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. GO TO YOTEL IF YOU WANT A GOOD TIME. We went to the envoy hotel roof deck for a friends birthday the weekend of 2/14. We agreed to the ridiculous $500 minimum for one of the roof deck igloos - you get 2 hours and have a minimum of $500 in 2 hours. Halfway through our allotted time on the roof we ordered some champagne. Minutes after we opened the bottle (which took almost 30 minutes to arrive because they were out of stock on our first 3 choices, on a Saturday night at 7...) the fire alarms started going off. There was an actual fire and we had to evacuate. After standing outside in15 degree weather we were told it would be at least another 20 minutes - if not more (management was very unclear, understandably due to the circumstances). Our igloo allotted time would have been pretty much over at that point so we left to go elsewhere - it did not make sense to freeze outside in the cold for another 5-10 minutes of drinking once we got back up to the bar. The Envoy proceeded to charge us for Everything we had spent, even though we were forced to leave mid-drink. No one had even had one full glass of the $100+ btl of champagne. Management was very rude and combative when we tried to negotiate a fair payment (we did not feel it was fair to have to pay for the champagne we did not get to drink - we felt that whatever we finished, ie. individual cocktails which werent even very good for a $14 drink, should be paid for by us, and that the champagne should be forgiven due to the circumstances.) Management proceeded to tell us that all they could do is give us another time slot in the igloo some other night. Why would I ever want to go back to the place that overcharged us and ruined our night?? Very rude and disrespectful management, would not go back here even if the booze was free. read more

This place has an amazing view and great vibe for getting out with family and friends. I only have 3 stars because the food was solid but nothing too special. I had the Chorizo breakfast sandwich which was a pretty good. My husband had the fish sandwich which looked amazing but he said it was standard. My daughter had the s'more French toast...that was way too much to really eat for a meal. My favorite was the watermelon froze! That was super yummy on a rooftop summer day! Not worth the price tag! It's a $500 minimum which isn't fitting for an empty bar on Christmas Eve. It's quite disgusting to be honest. The bar area was littered with underage drinkers and was quite unpleasant to a couple looking to enjoy a nightcap after an evening stroll. The place seems to be mismanaged, but has potential! Sunday at 5 in the middle of the summer and men are turned away for wearing tank tops or plain black shorts because they don't have belt loops on them. Gorgeous view!!! No line to get up to the rooftop bar when I went. It's pretty spacious, definitely lots of room to move. Even has a private party location that is separate. No cover since it's a hotel bar. There's a lot of bartenders for the bar. Only downfall was that they took forever to get to you even though there is so many of them. We got a pitcher of Boston Tai $36 and it filled up to about 3 cups full.. So it's definitely better to get a pitcher vs a drink on its own. Drinks are strong! Amazing views of the Boston skyline and that's what you come for. The drinks are delicious but a few dollars overpriced ($15 per cocktail). The igloos are fun and creative in the winter and you can stay warm while taking in the views. You may have to wait in line for an igloo though, or stay outside on a chair instead - they have plenty of heat lamps set up though so the whole rooftop stays pretty warm. read more

Let me say the view is great, so come here for that alone. The service can be a little all over the place. Things started off on the wrong foot with this place. I had made a reservation on Open Table to celebrate my 30th birthday. I did it way in advance, because I know this place books up quickly. My card ended up getting compromised a week or so before, so I called them to try and put my new card on file. Whoever I spoke with (male) sounded very annoyed that he had to answer the phone and was not necessarily the most helpful. I was still excited to go to the rooftop. Make sure you have the exact number of people in your reservation or less, otherwise there's going to be trouble. I can't say I often rent things like this, so I didn't realize it would be an issue. I ended up having 15 people in my party instead of 10. We arrived at different times, so once we were all inside the igloo the manager approached and asked to speak with me. It felt a little like I was back in elementary school and being scolded by my mom for being too loud at a sleepover. He was not happy about the excess guests, but after agreeing to raise the minimum (which he seemed to insinuate I could not afford), we were left alone. The server was great and very attentive and was constantly checking in with us in a helpful, not obnoxious way. She was the best part of the staff! So overall, as long as you don't call them beforehand or bring a slightly larger group you should be fine. read more

I was here on a Wednesday night, warm night, chilling with friends, and bar closes at 10:30pm? Yooo stay open til at least 1am on a summer night in Boston and let us chill and spend money on pricey drinks! Speaking on drinks, they have a decent variety of cocktail and beer and wine. The bartenders seem to work quick, but somehow you still find yourself waiting quite a bit. Luckily they have a water dispenser and plastic cups near the bar so you don't need to wait to ask for water. The tables and seating vary from high to low, two people to group settings which is really nice. Heat lamps surround the area so there's no need to worry about being cold unless you're standing on the edge for a while. Half the place is enclosed as well so you have options of sun or shade, and the place is larger than what it looks like from outside which is surprising. When we came, half the rooftop was closed off for an event but maybe since it was a Wednesday night we were able to find seats easily. OH and definitely get your phones out to get that perfect insta, snapchat, insta story because the view is EVERYTHING. Try coming before sunset so you get day photos, sunset photos and night photos. And to also beat the line because there definitely will be a line. Took around 15 minutes to get in around 8pm on Wednesday. Minus stars for slow service, lines, and also for the first time I came on a Saturday night and the bartender couldn't find my friend's credit card. They had to get the manager and eventually found it but how did it get lost in the first place? No idea. Soooo close your tabs out forsure. And also dress to impress. Went here on a Wednesday night with some girlfriends. I'd recommend going on a week night to avoid lines. We didn't have to wait at all. This place is more of a "photo op" than anything. Really cool pics. The view is nice. Otherwise, the drinks are really expensive. $15 for a glass of wine. The igloo smelled awful (like farts). The server was nice and came around pretty often to check and see if we needed drinks. This is the kind of place where.... ya seen it once, ya seen it twice. read more

Came here with a party of 4, none of the signature cocktails caught our eye so we went #basic and ordered a few Tito's seltzer's. They definitely went light on the Tito's, but that's expected at places like this. Forced to order food (since Covid) we settled on the truffle fries. Big box of small fries, they were okay, cool to pick on but wouldn't go out of my way for these. It was a Saturday night, so the place was packed, and it was hard to get our waitresses attention, on bringing stuff that we asked for. What a scam. This place has the allure of being like a hot, classy spot in the city, but all it has going for it, is the view. The drinks are TRASH. Served in plastic cups, that taste like cheap college bar drinks. Reservation is a $50 cancellation fee, however I would never want to spend close to that amount of money for the value received. I'm pretty torn about this place. We were visiting the area and I specifically googled Rooftop Bars and this was rated one of the highest. I can see why - the views are great. And that's where the pros of this place end. Parking is nonexistent. So you either pay the $40 valet fee, or you park in a (not so) nearby garage and hike it to this place in your heels. Not to mention, you'll pay $36 for 1 hour of parking in said garage and then wonder why you didn't just valet your car because that extra $4 is worth not having to walk. Once you take the elevator up to the bar, you feel relieved that the view really is worth what you just paid to park. But then you order a drink. $14 for mixed cocktails, $7 for bottled beer (ie Bud Lite). My 2 martinis and 1 champagne cocktail came filled about 3/4 of the way. Like, all 3 drinks looked like someone had guzzled the first 4 sips from them. For $14, I'd like my glass to be filled. Thanks. I might be able to excuse this if the drinks were actually well crafted and tasty. My champagne cocktail (Bella Signora) tasted like a heavy pour of cherry cough syrup topped off with a splash of champagne. My 2 mango flavored martinis came with ice in them. Ice? In a martini? Great place to spend time with friends. Though we never got heated Igloos but the view was great. Some Igloos are reserved and some of them you just have to walk in and see if there is space inside. I would definitely suggest to reserve if you have 5-6 people in group and you reach by 5ish. Else just glare at the view and enjoy the drinks. 21+ years old, strictly enforced. There's a wait line downtstairs in the lobby, with an interesting pool-table touch screen turned game console while you wait. We were 3 going there on a whim because we saw the colored igloos on the balcony from the street. The igloos are $500 reservation, just like you reserve a table at a night club. There are about 7 of them on the L-shaped balcony. Each of different color. And I understand they all have sits except the one that's furthest away from the water. You can go to that one, and stand, it's first come first serve, but can get a bit crowded. We stayed by the heat lamps in between the igloos. there are also a couple of seats if you are lucky, but the view is fantastic from anywhere. read more

The rooftop experience is unlike any other. The food and service is always amazing. I love to come here to pregame before my night out or even take a date. Beautiful space & lovely service. My fiance and I were here to get a pre-engagement photo session drink and to meet our photographer. Brian, our bartender, makes a great gin martini, noticed and asked if we would like to take some photos on the roof. The roof is being switched over from winter to summer, so there was no access to other guests. Brian took his time, escorted us to the rooftop and we were able to get some beautiful shots in. Brian went above and beyond for us and we're so grateful. Can't wait to be back and enjoy the rooftop again! read more
