Just adding an update: The owner responded to my same review posted on Google that they would reach out. This was over a month ago and I still have not heard from the owner of the salon. My only thought is that due to me being an out of town client and the low chance I'd ever patron this business again, they've written my concerns off as just the cost of doing business. I called on Monday and left a message about being a new client and needing to see someone by Saturday. The salon responded Tuesday, emailing a stylist suggestion, requesting I send pics of my current hair to their main line and asking that I call to set up an appointment. Amazing service! I called and was booked with Tony Sanchez. On Saturday, I went to the appointment and was happy to see the building has a parking garage (the salon validates your ticket). Very convenient. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I'd chosen the right salon. I was greeted and shown around the salon by a friendly woman who took me over to Tony. I immediately loved his demeanor. Calm, professional, and personable, all my fears about changing stylists went out the door. I asked for a shag and Tony was ready with pics to show me and explain the differences in the styles on my curly type of hair. We agreed on a game plan and a young woman walked me back for shampoo. She was quick and thorough. Back in the chair, Tony explained what he was doing during the cut, and we chatted while he worked, but not so much that it was forced, just thoughtful, fun conversation, which I loved. I could literally see the transformation of my hair as he worked on it. He told me he would need to blow it dry straight to better see his cuts and make any alterations, and the cut looked so good straight that I seriously thought about styling it that way all the time! When I checked out, I was pleasantly surprised at the cost as well. Less than half of what I paid at my last salon. I walked out of that salon feeling fresh, new, and 100% sure I will be back to Tony for years to come. I got home, showered, and was anxious to see what it looked like with my natural curl. All I can say is it is everything I wanted in a shag and so easy to wash and go. Tony, thank you so much for your knowledge, professionalism, and kindness. I went to Hue Salon for balayage highlights, and Brittnie completely botched the job--leaving me with red roots and bleach-blonde bangs that looked ridiculous because there is not a proper transition of color. It was actually a partial highlight not a true balayage and they charged me for the balayage. The salon did refund me and Brittnie attempted to fix it, but that's where things got even worse. I now have an obvious line of demarcation due to the correction of red roots. The root melt look was completely eliminated and now I have harsh lines. It's so embarrassing. Cassidy somehow got involved with toning and finishing, and let me tell you--her attitude was just as bad as Brittnie's work. She was cold, dismissive, and downright rude the entire time. It was clear she didn't want to be there, and she certainly didn't want to be helping me. No warmth, no professionalism, just a miserable, uncomfortable experience from start to finish. She lazily rough dried my bangs and left the rest of my hair sopping wet. I didn't expect a full blow out, but it's completely unacceptable I have to ask if I could brush my hair neatly and tie it in a bun so I can leave the salon decently. The fact that she thought leaving me like that was just gross. The entire back of my shirt was wet. If Hue Salon thinks this is how you keep customers, they're dead wrong. Cassidy is a liability to this business--she made the whole experience awkward and hostile, like I was inconveniencing her by expecting decent service. If she's this unpleasant with paying clients, I can't imagine she's much better with coworkers. And let's be real--if you see lots of open appointments for these people, it's because they straight up suck. There's a reason certain individuals aren't fully booked on their website, and that reason is the lack of skill and the terrible customer service. I should have waited to get an appointment with someone else. Save your time, your money, and your hair--go somewhere else. read more

I loved my haircut with Sam Colvin! We talked through what I wanted at the start of the appointment, but she also asked lots of questions throughout the process so that we were both on the same page. I got a pixie cut, so the little details are important. She's great at communicating what she's doing and why. This is by far the best haircut I've ever had. This is my second time to this Salon since I moved to Houston from NYC. The stylists and service here are awesome. So far, I have tried Tony and Catherine. Both are superb professionals that take the time to ask you about your wants, but more importantly, educate you on your hair-needs. Literally, I haven't had a stylist ever explain in detail the reason behind my hair's quality and how I can begin the repair process. I'm so disgusted with the lack of professionalism from Tess, the owner. New to the area and booked a color appt here based on the reviews. Booked with a lovely stylist, names Jo, she really was very sweet..but in the end, didn't achieve anything NEAR the look that I asked for. After being there a few hours and in the salon lighting, I said it looked okay but I definitely wanted to come back next time and try to actually darken it like I initially wanted. Jo said "absolutely" and by now I was tired of being there and ready to go. I paid $340. Get home and realize I literally don't see a single difference in the color now. Email before and after photos and ask if I could come back in to get something closer to what I wanted. One of the owners of the salon called me personally and said "Yes, I agree, we definitely didn't succeed in the color you wanted, come in sometime next week!" What do I do? Call today. Then I get a NASTY email from TESS, one of the owners, stating that they will NOT being redoing the color unless I pay another $340, that they were CANCELLING my appointment even though it was at 3pm, and I was 14 minutes away after 40 minute drive, and that since so told JO I liked it, she did her job. I tried calling to speak to her directly, she told the phone receptionist to tell me no, she would only correspond via email! Am I in twilight zone??! I could not believe the way she was treating me. I was so kind, so sure to say I really liked Jo but the fact is, Jo had to go ask Tess at least 10 times what to do to my hair that day. She needed some guidance. I was so disgusted with how Tess handled it. When I emailed her back saying how disappointed I was in the way she handled all of this, that she wouldn't talk to me over the phone, and that she didn't care what the other told me (I actually forwarded Tess the legitimate voicemail the other owner left me over the weekend to come back in) Tess refused to respond Or reschedule my appointment. I am so disheartened that the unprofessionalism I'm here I was so blatantly hi. I was excited about making things right and finding a new salon in the area since I moved here. They charged me for a women's / long length cut (higher price than men's) even though I had a short "men's" haircut at the time. Even after I asked about this, they refused to charge me the reduced priced for a short length haircut. So they charge women more than they charge men. Yeah no thanks!! There was also a small white dog that was aggressive and barked at me while I sat in the seat the last time I was there. This was probably back in 2017. Haven't been back since because of this experience.m Edit: response to Alan, I was randomly going through my Yelp for other reasons and saw my history. I googled best salons in Houston and I found Hue Salon. After researching the website for a week, owners IG's, and many reviews ... I gave it a try. Love the new location and the ambiance is so zen. My stylist of choice was Tony! Tony, if you're reading this, you're amazing and you know it! He was so sweet, patient and truly listened to what I wanted. To me that is so important and he won me over. I'm still getting complements on my hair! I'm truly feeling the edgy vibe he turned me into. So, if you're contemplating just go to Hue! So worth it. Thank you, Hue! I've decided to try Hue after reading glowing reviews online. I'm originally from Europe and my most loved haircuts come from either Europe or Mexico. I haven't been able to find a hairstylist here or a salon that I liked enough to return back to. My hair was very damaged and uneven. I just hated it so very much. My birthday is coming up as well as wedding anniversary and I just wanted to look pretty and enjoy the process which hasn't happened in so long. I called Hue and saw Denisse that same day (I was ready!). I had the best experience! I was happy and glowing when I left. The staff was genuinely warm, kind and welcoming. The salon was very clean and all the Covid precautions that were taken made me feel very safe. Thank you for that! Denisse was on-time which I appreciated. She listened to my concerns and made suggestions. I didn't feel judged; I felt at ease. I told her I hated layers, so, she didn't give me layers! Every time I ask for no layers, I get layers! She also put the most gorgeous toner on my hair. I absolutely love the color! She took her time which I also appreciated and did exactly what we had agreed on, and what she said she was going to do. For the first time in over a year, I finally have the cut and color that I love. I probably won't wash my hair for a week now (lol). Their customer service is equally superb. The best I've experienced. I've been to other high-end salons; they don't stand close. People at Hue are nice and down to earth; the atmosphere they create is welcoming and relaxing. After all these years I still love this place. I have even gone so far as to play around with different artists at Hue and there's no snobby vibe about it. I use Tess....she's so good and don't be surprised if you catch yourself staring at her lol she's just gorgeous!!! I had cut and balayage with Alegra. I specifically asked for a cold pigment to avoid yellowish blond. After 4 hours and 490$, the color looked great. However, it became yellow the first time I washed my hair. I called the salon, and they generously suggested correcting it for free. I was late to my appointment by 15 min, after driving 40 min. I was told that Alegra only had 15 min to correct the color (??!!), so I should reschedule my appointment. I am a very busy professional; I should not come twice to dye my hair, defiantly not three times. I guess they would not send me home so quickly if I were a paying client. In summary: HUE Salon - nice interior design and cool location. From a professional point of view, much room for improvement. Overpriced and overrated. read more

Tony was the rudest and most arrogant, argumentative, uncooperative stylist I have ever encountered. Seriously next level rude. EVERY single thing I asked for, instead of listening and trying to work together, he got major ugly attitude about and told me he flat out refused to do it and then started aggressively angrily taking it out on my hair. I came in asking for a modern shag, lots of shaggy choppy beachy type layers. He told me no, he won't do that. I told him I have very fine/flat straight hair. He told me no, I actually have thick wavy hair. Umm... no!! I'm pretty sure I'M the one that's lived with this hair for 40 f'ing years and it is not wavy or thick. I told him I work outside in the Houston humidity so I want lots of texture and volume and I have to tease my fine/flat hair to get any lift. He laughed and shamed me and said no one teases their hair anymore. I have lots of breakage bc my hair is so fine and he started blasting it with the dryer without ANYYYYYY product at all! Not volumizer, not heat protectant, NOTHING! When I nervously asked if he could please use some heat protectant he got angry and yanked open the drawer and yelled at me that he had already put XYZ products on my hair. He did not. So I just had to quietly endure and not dare to question or upset him further. As he was drying it, I simply asked him to blowdry my bangs down and forward instead of up and back. He again got so angry and flat out refused to do it. Even though that's how I will style them every day and would like to see the right style I want. Nope. Not Tony! Once it was dry I told him it wasn't what I asked for, I still wanted more short shaggy obvious layers. Again more attitude and anger. He kept telling me about all the "invisible layers" he did, when I specifically asked for obvious choppy layers. When I tried to nervously say I wanted more he aggressively grabbed a giant chunk of hair and just started hacking away out of spite until I finally begged him to PLEASE JUST STOP!!!! and I had to physically pull away from him. He is rude and nasty and beyond unprofessional. And if I pay $125+ tip for a haircut, I expect to walk out feeling amazing with exactly what I asked for. Not some subpar unwanted haircut that a bald hairstylist with a bad ego decided I should have instead. read more

I love Tony Sanchez. He's the only one I really trust to cut my hair. I hadn't seen him in about six years, because he is expensive but worth it. However, I am getting married the day after Thanksgiving and did not trust anyone but him not to mess up my hair before the big day. He is amazing. He gives the best haircuts and is just the nicest, most caring person. I'll probably let him fix my single process at-home hair color that just isn't the best. I trust him infinitely and often just sit in his chair and ask him what he recommends. He has never steered me wrong. He's my facebook friend, and he asked me about the recent flooding we experienced in Tropical Storm Imelda where we lost all three of our cars.
