I was in town visiting my family and friends, and pleased to see this addition to the neighborhood. I think Canada was genuinely missing a spot where locals can come in and enjoy the beautiful city. I visited three times in two days because I was so excited to try different things. The Monte Blanc drink stole my heart. Their breakfast sandwich had the most perfect scrambled egg, and for our road trip, we picked up a few of their baguette sandwiches. Everything was fresh, artisan, and seemed local. Loved it!

Cute cafe! Was pretty busy in a Sunday morning, lots of young families with their children and dogs! Looks tiny at first but there is a lot of seating in the back area. Staff was friendly. My food came out about 5 mins before My coffee. I ordered the iced latte with maple cold foam + eggs and avocado with comes with cottage cheese. The food was very fresh and the way they cooked the eggs were perfection. Coffee was good but not anything out of this world. Maple cold foam did add a nice touch or the latte would be pretty bland. Not enough ice, it melted pretty quick. Overall a good experience and would return.

This has become my everyday coffee spot to get some work done with my dog. Coffee is good, the Marlowe is the marquee coffee of the establishment and for good reasons. Just be aware it's a cortado, not much liquid in there but great flavors. I also had their Tuna Melt and their baguette Soppresseta sandwich. Both very tasty. Only downside of the place which would get them 5 stars is the outdoor patio cleanliness. The bins are by the seats which attracts a lot of flies, especially when hot. The floor is also kind of dirty with a lot of pastries crumbs. Staff very nice and clearly with a good recipe for success.

Decided to stop by on a Saturday morning to check out this relatively new coffee shop in our neighborhood. It was incredibly busy, with barely any spots to sit on the indoor barstools, outdoor patio, or covered side room. They offered a variety of coffee and tea drinks, and even sold wine by the bottle. They also had lots of food options as well. The prices were a bit steep. The service was incredibly slow - they only had one espresso machine, causing the orders to back up quite a bit. Additionally, the system for calling beverages out didn't seem to work, as people would be taking beverages that didn't belong to them and they kept having to remake drinks for a number of customers, including myself. For what my opinion is worth, they should keep the receipts under each respective beverage, rather than immediately sticking them on the "completed" spike when finished making them. We ordered an avocado toast with the side of egg, and a breakfast sandwich. Also ordered a vanilla latte and the Marlow beverage. I didn't manage to get any photos of those, as it took quite some time to come out and we were we too hungry to wait for photos. Although it's conveniently located in the neighborhood, probably won't come back unless I've got a large large chunk of time to spare.

There was a long line when we went at around 10 AM. The store is cute and has a nice vibe, but it was super crowded so we couldn't really find seats. They have an area outside and an area inside to sit, but everything was filled - the hype was real! We parked on a street and walked over, parking was relatively easy. We ordered the matcha latte and a Marlowe for our drinks. We also got an apple danish, pistachio croissant and a chocolate croissant for pastries. The matcha latte was not great, a bit grainy and with nothing special. It tasted very watered down, and not much sweetness - slightly bitter. Definitely not worth the price tag. The marlowe is a small concentrated shot (?) of coffee with maple cream on top. More of an acquired taste in my opinion, as you have to bear the bitterness of the coffee underneath with the sweetness of the cream. The cream is pretty tasty, but definitely for more mature coffee enjoyers. The pastries were all relatively good - the pistachio one was my favorite. When we got there at 10 AM, they were almost sold out of all pastries though so just keep that in mind! Overall, an okay experience. The vibes and hype is definitely present but the drinks are not my favorite and the pastries were average as well.

Loved my first visit! Delicious coffee & pastries. Ample indoor-outdoor seating, parking (!), friendly service, a nice bathroom (!), & even a board book table for the little ones. Brooklyn-meets-Silverlake vibe - I appreciate a space that has a unique & thoughtful point of view on the experience they're trying to create.

Cute spot but was absolutely bummed by the worst customer service. You would think I was walking into a snobby west side coffee shop but nope .. just humble old Glendale. I walk in and the guy at the counter sees me and my husband. Doesn't greet us... that's fine. I walk up to the counter and say hi.. he does not say hi and turns his head.. I was so confused. Said hi again and then he looks at me. Doesn't smile , doesn't say hi... so whatever I just order. But I could not believe how horrendous their customer service was. No one was smiling. **overall my suggestion is don't come here. Not worth it. There's coffee like this all over Los Angeles but with better customer service. Nothing special and would never recommend for my friends and family or strangers to come here. Mind you I grew up in this area and was very excoted about it.

I have a feeling this coffee shop will be here forever. It is exactly what this area was missing and exactly what was needed. Food and drinks: This place made me fall in love with Cortado's. Make sure to get there, Marlowe. Their food was also delicious, from the tuna melt to the BLT (although on the much heavier side). Tips and tricks: Ample seating, and although the parking lot is small, you can easily find parking in the surrounding area. Last but not least, they have a liquor license, which is awesome cause you could come here for really anything at that point!

Quite a stranger to the area so a chance to be around was to be well-utilized. This cute cafe on the corner was brand new yet successfully hosted the crowd for the weekend. Plus point for having sizable outdoor patio and dedicated parking space. Long line reaching the entrance on Saturday afternoon with almost full house but the turnaround was pretty speedy so it wasn't hard to get seats. They did serve some sandwiches for nibbles and I saw they used Jyan Isaac bread! I only went for their drinks and despite knowing their house signature was the Marlowe, I was trying to be more adventurous going for the cold brew with the iconic maple cream top. The coffee nailed the expectation with bold flavor and smooth after taste. They seemed to use Stumptown beans if I got it correctly. The cream top was nicely not overly heavy despite I wished bit stronger maple flavor.

This place has been on my list to try since they opened a few months ago. Finally I got a chance to stop by with my son Friday morning around 10:30. It was busy !!!! Probably 8 people in line to order, the outdoor patio was full of people enjoying their food and drinks. Most of their bars good such as croissants and cookies were sold out but we got to try a turkey cheese croissant and a cinnamon roll. Both so fresh and delicious. My son and I ordered the cold brew with the maple cold foam. Delicious!!!! We enjoyed every sip. But the time our drinks were ready we found a table outside so that worked out perfectly. Customer service was friendly and helpful. We had a great experience here. Next time I'll try their food items and other drinks they offer. By the way they serve wine as well. Overall a very cozy but also lively ambiance.

Loose Cannon is just the coffee shop this neighborhood needed! The vibes here are beautiful, I love the nostalgic feel of the wood and tiles. They have lots of different places to sit like the bar that looks out to the street, a large, peaceful patio outside, and a back area that'll be open to the public soon! (A little birdie told me they'll open the place up for a nice dinner vibe, wine tasting, and event rentals soon too) They offer delicious coffee, pastries, and breakfast/lunch options! We got an iced brown sugar latte, the marlowe (an iced cortado with maple cream), and a hot mocha. They were all delicious and not too sweet which I appreciated so much. The maple cream was soooo good, it had a hint of salt too which I loved. They were still working on formulating a mocha recipe, and we really liked the one they made! Free parking in the small lot out front and lots of street parking around. All the workers here were so nice and excited to meet all the new customers. Tell them your preferences and they're ready to customize for you!

Nice little coffee shop in the northern part of Glendale near Glendale community college. The parking lot was a little tight but we were able to find a spot. We came in the afternoon so a lot of their food was gone but we came for coffee. I got their Marlowe which was an iced cortado with maple cream. It was good drink and tasted balanced. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back to try other options on the menu.

Newly opened cafe in Glendale, a much needed addition to the area for a quick coffee run. The space features a roomy outdoor patio with plenty of seating, including shaded spots. They currently offer drinks in to-go cups but plan to introduce ceramic mugs soon for those who want to sit and stay awhile. The cafe was buzzing with customers, which is always a great sign. There are only a few parking spots directly in front, but street parking is plentiful nearby.

If it wasn't for the location, I don't think the restaurant would be nearly as popular. Our server was friendly, but not as attentive as we would've liked. We were seated outside and I found myself looking inside for her on more than one occasion. Even with the good company, I felt the dinner dragging because of this. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Bowl while everyone else had pasta. We enjoyed our food, but agreed that neither the portion nor the flavor entice us enough to come back. (My husband had the steak and mushroom penne, friends had the Chimchurri steak and the wedge salad) The negatives: I had the shrimp risotto and found it blah. The serving was very small - i feel like American portions are often obscenely large (and don't like that), but this was much smaller than average and I was still hungry after eating it. The flavor was ok, but nothing to write home about. And the shrimp were very small - what my husband and I call "bait" shrimp. Not the large shrimp you usually get at a nice restaurant. Since i was still hungry, I ordered a cobbler. It was fine, but not great. Texture was a bit strange - not traditional. Probably won't come back. The food is just not that interesting. It's like the kind of food you'd eat at a Midwestern buffet restaurant.

Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café…read more Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café reminded me that we live for the wonderful experiences that remain to be discovered. After a wonderful lunch date with my wife at Raffi's Place (please read my review and thank me later) in Glendale, I decided to look for the perfect dessert. After scouting several nearby locations, I decided I was in the mood for a great cinnamon roll. Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café looked like the place that would deliver the experience I was seeking. SDLBC is listed as being in Glendale, but it's located in the historic Old Town of Montrose. That's beside the point; I only mention it because there are additional places to explore just up the street. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

We thought he was a new employee because he had no clue what he was doing. He had NO personality no interest in general. When he first came to our table he didn't say hello or offer us appetizers or a cocktail. He asked for our dinner order. We ordered the fajita quesadilla and a combo plate. Daniel brought me the wrong taco; the taco was mostly lettuce and cheese very little meat ~ I was surprised because when I ordered this in the past it was excellent and done right (Not his fault tho he did write down my taco order incorrectly). He never came back to our table to check on us. When we were done we asked for a box because we had a lot of food left. He looked at it and brought us a tiny box. What was he thinking?? We asked the bus boy for another and he brought us the correct size. It was hard to get Daniels attention; we tried a few times to flag him down but he wasn't looking at us. We watched him a few different times throughout our time there, to see how he was with the other tables. We came to the conclusion that he looked like a fish out of water. Maybe he was overwhelmed even though the restaurant was a little more than half full last night at 5:30. Then he brought us our check while we were still eating! I told him I wanted to order dessert. Again, he had no clue what he was doing. I suggest the management take a look at this review and address this issue with him. Our experiences here have always been great, been coming for years.
