Honestly surprised by how good the food was considering we were the only customers there at the time! I got the carne asada plate which was grilled to perfection with a crisp but still juicy and thick enough cuts. Loved the Jamaica agua Fresca. My partner got a michelada which was also massive and delicious. Complimentary chips and salsa as well. Wanted to give this place a shoutout so they can get more customers in the future since everyone seems to congregate at the brewery around the corner.

my family and i had parked horizontally in their dirt lot directly across the restaurant when there were no other cars there and no sign even indicating it was their lot. when we eventually came back for the car there were other vehicles parked vertically. these cars were INTENTIONALLY blocking in our car (picture attached). come to find out, those cars were employees. as soon as we came back and asked for someone to move, apologized for the inconvenience, and PAID for EVERYONE in the restaurant. this was met with aggression and disrespect from the owner. again, did not eat there, so i cannot speak on that. but from the one interaction we had with the employees and the way we were treated even when we were not there is enough to keep it that way.

Al Pastor, sorry one is already gone :D

For Mammoth, this is five star. I'd give it 4.5 stars+ down south. The service - top notch. Five stars all the way. They were awesome. Seriously - they saved our night. It was my son's bday on a busy weekend. We figured we would waitlist somewhere but no one was accepting even that. We tried here for takeout and they said prob 1-1.5 hours (Decemberxmas holiday week so I get it). Food took maybe 40 minutes for a large takeout order for 9 people, that was so so much appreciated. Grandma sits in the place and runs a tight ship so sometimes you hear her giving her family a hard time. I've been there twice experiencing this "out in the open" - a bit weird but appreciate it's a family business. The food? Carnitas tacos - 5/5 - big chunks of meat that were absolutely delicous. As in I bit into it and went "omg. are you serious?" Honestly some of the best of not the best meat/tortilla combo of carnitas I've had. If you go there for a single thing - this is it. Order at least two. Their salsa? I'm a snob and this was pretty tasty - same with their chips. They gave us two huge containers which we used for a couple days on multple meals. The al pastor tacos - also delicous. This was a winner and competes with any other place. See the picture. The shredded chicken was basic, nothing to write home about. Standard. Throw some salsa on them and they are tasty and they didn't skimp on the meat. You'll enjoy it but it won't be the best ever. The burrito was very big. You eat with utensils. It was decent. A good amount of rice/bean filler so my kids were just ok with them. That's all I've tried. Some other guests ordered other things and loved them. Solid food and fantastic service. Get there early - I sat at 5 the second time and was the only person in there. By the time I left it was completely packed. They may cutoff ordering early on busy days so get those orders in early. The (grand daughters?) were excellent with service - truly. And the guy at the counter (family too or not?) that also works on the mountain was top top notch. Friendly, welcoming, helped us out and gave us some drinks while we waited. Truly loved the experience and our entire group said the place was great.

I went with my pops to try this place out and oh my goodness. The best decision of my life, the food is absolutely amazing and delicious. Better Mexican food than the food I got during my trip to Cabo San Lucas. I absolutely recommend this place you won't be disappointed. 10/10

    Best churro sundae ever!!!!!

We had the best dinner at Lopez Mexican Food. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. It was delicious!! I got the green enchiladas and my husband had the mole, both were excellent!!! The service was perfect!! This place feels so authentic and homey! We will definitely be going back!! Oh btw, don't skip dessert! The fried ice cream and churro sundae were sooooo good!

Small little town restaurant, off to the side of the street on the way to the village. We stayed close by so thought we tried it out - we could smell the authenticity from down the road! Delicious food and excellent service. The horchata and cucumber lemonade was so good, and their meat is mouth watering. Definitely recommend!

Destroyed it! Food was very good and authentic. Will definitely return when I come back to town. Chile relleno was amazing.

A two item combo plate with chicken enchilada and chile relleno.

Good chips and salsa. Food just ok. The interior was old and a little dirty. We had a group of 12 and there was no problem seating us.

Good Mexican food, nice staff. Their guacamole is diced instead of mashed. My friends enjoyed the tamales and burrito.

My boyfriend said it tasted like chlorinated pool water. Honestly, that felt generous. I took two sips and immediately understood why plants die when you overwater them. If someone told me this was recycled toilet water with a splash of citrus, I'd have no evidence to dispute it. The service was fast though, so points for that. The guacamole was this restaurant's saving grace. It was fresh, delicious, and briefly convinced me the rest of the meal might turn around. It did not. We ordered the Baja ceviche and I have questions. Specifically: why was it marinating in what tasted like an entire bottle of Clamato? The seafood never stood a chance. Every bite tasted like I accidentally drank the bottom of a Bloody Mary. I ordered the chicken taco plain and it still showed up with enough diced onion to ward off vampires for the next decade. The overall flavor profile felt very "Mexican food designed by committee." It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't something I'd order again. My boyfriend ordered the carnitas and actually liked them, so credit where credit is due. The garlic shrimp was the clear winner of the table by a mile. Honestly, if you come here, order the garlic shrimp, order the guac, and call it a day. For the love of all things holy, stay away from the Blanca Paloma.

It's not just a few bottles on display, it's a full collection that gives the whole place energy. You can tell they take tequila seriously, and if you're into it even a little, you'll appreciate what they've built here. The food is solid across the board. Mexican with a bit of a modern twist, good portions, good flavor, and consistent. It's the kind of place you can go after a long day in Mammoth and know you're going to leave satisfied. The atmosphere is what really ties it together. Lively, warm, and has that mountain town vibe without feeling touristy. The fireplace, the bar, the setup, it all works. Service has always been on point too. Friendly, attentive, and they keep things moving without rushing you. Between the tequila selection, great cocktails, good food, and overall vibe, this is one of those spots you make a point to come back to every time you're in Mammoth. Definitely worth it.

You get a a choice of side fries, soup or salad and I was craving tomato soup due to the chilly weather, but I don't recommend this at all. I expected a creamy tomato soup, but this tomato soup just had a strange flavor and left a bad taste in my mouth. My boyfriend got the chicken pesto sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were AMAZING and my favorite thing there, but the sandwich was okay. The bread they used was kinda stale and it was falling apart as you eat it. As for the sandwich itself, it was decent. It was quite pricey for what it was and everything was a little dry. I do appreciate the cucumbers being added for veggies tho. Overall, this place has some items that were good and some that were just alright. The service is very kind and welcoming however!
