Good customer service and they we're ok with our doodle coming inside which we appreciated It. We were craving some Mexican food and wanted to eat outside the village and this restaurant popped up down the street from there and it had a very homey feel to it . Menu prices are average as expected for around the area. We asked for chips and salsa to start in which the salsa had a little kick to it. We were the only ones there and the staff was attentive to our needs. You can tell this is a family ran restaurant since they were sitting near our table. I ordered a combo plate with rice , beans and asada sope and it was well seasoned with my Jamaica agua fresca ( habiscus). And for preference of texture , I would have liked a more crunchy sope. My husband had asada plate and he enjoyed it with a side a really spicy sauce. Just FYI, u will get charged 3% extra for using any credit card , cash, zelle, Venmo also accepted. We decided to eat at Lopez's tonight because the Village had no parking and we wanted some good Mexican food food. It was really good, just as I remembered it. My son had a Molcajete which he really enjoyed. He can eat a lot of food because he lifts weights and does other activities, but he had still had leftovers. My husband enjoyed his carne asada tacos and I, my favorite...shrimp cocktel! Everything came out pretty fast. They were pretty busy since it's a holiday weekend, but we were seated right away and received good service. We'll be back next Summer! read more

The free chips and salsa were a plus and the server was attentive and that's all the positive things I have to say. The server told me that the carne asada plate would come with a lot of meat , and I asked how many ounces , and he did not tell me. The plate was almost 30 bucks. When it arrived it probably had two thin/tiny slices of meat enough for a small chihuahua and stuffed with rice and beans. Honestly surprised by how good the food was considering we were the only customers there at the time! I got the carne asada plate which was grilled to perfection with a crisp but still juicy and thick enough cuts. Loved the Jamaica agua Fresca. My partner got a michelada which was also massive and delicious. Complimentary chips and salsa as well. my family and i had parked horizontally in their dirt lot directly across the restaurant when there were no other cars there and no sign even indicating it was their lot. when we eventually came back for the car there were other vehicles parked vertically. these cars were INTENTIONALLY blocking in our car (picture attached). come to find out, those cars were employees. as soon as we came back and asked for someone to move, apologized for the inconvenience, and PAID for EVERYONE in the restaurant. this was met with aggression and disrespect from the owner. again, did not eat there, so i cannot speak on that. but from the one interaction we had with the employees and the way we were treated even when we were not there is enough to keep it that way. read more

For Mammoth, this is five star. I'd give it 4.5 stars+ down south. The service - top notch. Five stars all the way. They were awesome. Seriously - they saved our night. It was my son's bday on a busy weekend. We figured we would waitlist somewhere but no one was accepting even that. We tried here for takeout and they said prob 1-1.5 hours (Decemberxmas holiday week so I get it). Food took maybe 40 minutes for a large takeout order for 9 people, that was so so much appreciated. Grandma sits in the place and runs a tight ship so sometimes you hear her giving her family a hard time. I've been there twice experiencing this "out in the open" - a bit weird but appreciate it's a family business. The food? Carnitas tacos - 5/5 - big chunks of meat that were absolutely delicous. As in I bit into it and went "omg. are you serious?" Honestly some of the best of not the best meat/tortilla combo of carnitas I've had. If you go there for a single thing - this is it. Order at least two. Their salsa? I'm a snob and this was pretty tasty - same with their chips. They gave us two huge containers which we used for a couple days on multple meals. The al pastor tacos - also delicous. This was a winner and competes with any other place. See the picture. The shredded chicken was basic, nothing to write home about. Standard. Throw some salsa on them and they are tasty and they didn't skimp on the meat. You'll enjoy it but it won't be the best ever. The burrito was very big. You eat with utensils. It was decent. A good amount of rice/bean filler so my kids were just ok with them. That's all I've tried. Some other guests ordered other things and loved them. Solid food and fantastic service. Get there early - I sat at 5 the second time and was the only person in there. By the time I left it was completely packed. They may cutoff ordering early on busy days so get those orders in early. The (grand daughters?) were excellent with service - truly. And the guy at the counter (family too or not?) that also works on the mountain was top top notch. My family & I parked in a dirt lot across the street with no clear parking spots. Our car got blocked in by two cars on either side. We went inside to ask if those who parked could move for a second so we could get out. We paid for everyone's tab for the inconvenience. Only to be treated disrespectfully & belittled by parking where we did. ALSO to find out it was the employees who parked to block us in & treat us terribly after we paid for the entire restaurant to enjoy their meals. We went inside respectfully & apologetic claiming that kindness goes a long way only to be treated as anything other than that. It hurts that I have to write this review, as it's a small family biz that we have given our visits too numerous times in the past years. I'm hoping it was just a really off day in the kitchen. Such a bummer. We arrived around 4:45pm. Only one other table of guests were eating while we were there. In the past years, the food has always been good and worthy of visiting again. This time, Not so much. I will give 5 stars to the service: we were greeted immediately, and our server was nice and attentive. He deserves 5 stars. However, the food was so lacking! We ordered the chicken nachos and the shrimp ceviche. Both were not good. The ceviche was tepid, not cold and way too much sugar, not enough heat/spice. Very underwhelming. The nachos.... How can they go wrong with nachos?!?! The beans had zero flavor, were dried out and super thick, like right out of a can; the chicken was super dry and we wonder if it was microwaved. The "guac" that was a small scoop on the side of the nacho dish tasted like the kind at the super market out of a plastic bag. We had to add cholula to give the nachos some flavor. We ordered the fresh guac to try and help the nachos. Which was actually the only fresh looking/tasting item we received. The fresh guac was good, cold and had all the fresh ingredients. Our original server left before we could mentioned how hard we were trying to not complain about the nachos. New server, female was also super nice and apologized numerous times and offered our money back. We wish this restaurant nothing but success, and hope they will reevaluate the importance of serving hot, or cold when called for...fresh food. read more

Small little town restaurant, off to the side of the street on the way to the village. We stayed close by so thought we tried it out - we could smell the authenticity from down the road! Food with subpar service was god-awful, and the location itself smells like cow manure. Not to mention it looks like they mop the floors with mud. My party had to wait about 35 to 40 minutes to get our food, and we never got our drinks until about 20 to 25 minutes in with most of them being Waters. Sat down with hopes for some decent Mexican food, which were all shattered at the sight of every entree being over $20. After almost leaving we then proceeded to wait almost 20 minutes for just our drinks while we watched every other table around us receive theirs even though we showed up before. After around 30 minutes we received our mediocre food which for half our table had to be sent back because the order was incorrect or missing items. Admitted the portions we received were relatively generous and the food wasn't the worst I've ever had, but was still not near being worth the $35+ price tag. Our party of 6 didn't plan on tipping for the below the bar service however we were hit with a pre applied 18% tip, which explicitly stated it was for "parties over 6." I wasn't surprised as the owners of this dump couldn't spell half the words right on the menu anyway. Save your hard earned dollars and go somewhere else. read more
