This is a very cool local bar/restaurant. I would recommend going here knowing you aren't going for high quality food, but great local, chill vibes. Short little review as I stumbled into this bar to grab a quick Bloody Mary and it didn't disappoint. Tiger Bar & Cafe is a long time staple in June Lake. Everything about it is giving time capsule and they don't need to upgrade much because it's a local hole in the wall favorite. This spot is open early morning to evening, making it one of the only spots in June Lake where you can score breakfast. I wandered in at 10am craving a Bloody Mary and seeing that every other bar / restaurant in town was closed. When you are the only option you're a good option lol. I sat up at the old school diner bar and it was cozy. The bar itself has lots of Tiger swag and merch all across it. Funny signs and sayings, this place is a hoot. Staff were nice and friendly. Almost immediately when I sat down a nice gal took my order, cashed me out and made me my Bloody Mary. For an $8 Bloody Mary it hit the spot. A little small but packed with flavor. Happy I could try this famous Mary while I was in downtown lake June. I'd come back to try their breakfast and to grab another cocktail next time. It no longer feels like a well-loved local institution, but rather a place struggling to find its footing. I later learned there was a recent change in ownership, and unfortunately it shows. Something here feels off. The experience lacked professionalism, consistency, and basic hospitality -- all things that matter in a small town where reputation is everything. My family and I were visiting June Lake this past weekend. We stopped here for a late lunch on Sunday 10/19/25. It was around 2pm when we stopped by. We walked in and it was pretty empty. We were sat right away and waters were brought in for all of us. It looked like there was only one waitress and a hostess/busser helping. I will say, the service was impeccable. Our waitress, Araceli (I think), was awesome. We were a family of 11. Our orders were taken promptly including multiple appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Food came out quickly. The portions were large, we all had to take to-go boxes home. We had a variety of food. I had a grilled cheese and french fries (I'm picky). My son had a hot dog and fries, hubby had a steak sandwich. Others had a patty melt, hamburgers, enchiladas. Everyone was satisfied with their food. Meanwhile, the hostess/busser was constantly making sure our drinks were refilled. A very pleasant visit to the American diner type restaurant. While the inside was a little warm, that really was nothing to complain about. This restaurant was a comfortable restaurant suitable for families or anyone travelling through June Lake. This happened maybe 25 mins ago. At Tiger Bar & Cafe. It's Tuesday afternoon and Tiger Bar was completely empty when I stopped in with my family and my service dog. Outside, there was a sign that said "No pets, no emotional support animals," which I totally understand. Because of that, before we even sat down, I made sure to tell the waitress that my dog isn't an ESA -- he's a trained service animal. She said that was fine and seated us. A few minutes later, an older woman approached and gently told me that animals weren't allowed in the bar area. I let her know, again calmly, that he's a service dog. I also explained, within my rights, that while I don't have to share my disability, I can absolutely tell her what he's trained to do. I'm still relatively new to having a service dog, and on top of that, he wasn't feeling well from the altitude, so he was resting in his small carrier. Even in the carrier, he can still perform his tasks, and I've never had an issue anywhere else. And to my understanding though this may not be usual it still a viable option for my animal as it does not interfere with his training. Some disabilities are silent and not seen. She looked at him and instead of letting me tell her what he was trained to do, she asked, "Why is he in a bed?" I got a little flustered and said, "He's not feeling well from the altitude." In hindsight, I should've simply explained that the carrier doesn't interfere with his work, but I was caught off guard and trying to stay polite. I also know now that she wasn't supposed to ask that question in the first place. She responded with, "I don't have to serve you." At that point, my family said "okay no worries" we quietly got up and left. I understand that refusing service because of a legitimate service animal is an ADA issue and ILLEGAL, but I'm not trying to cause trouble. The whole situation just left me feeling disappointed, especially since the restaurant was empty and I'm still learning how to navigate interactions like this. I'll be thinking it over whether I was to pursue this further, but for now I just want others with disabilities to be aware that this happened, so they can make the decision that feels right for them. read more

My brother in law wanted some ranch for his burger, instead of getting the ranch she made the comment" there's one right there and there's another one right there. Excuse me but we had ordered buffalo wings, fried pickles, each had its own ranch which we used them for. She rolled her eyes as she walked away because she had to get ranch. She got my mother in laws drink wrong, when she was told that, she rolled her eyes for that. My father in law told her that he asked for chicken nachos and not the meat ones. Her reply was " oh well that's not what I heard I heard meat so I don't know. " Her attitude ruined the mood and it was like nobody wanted to order anything else. We wanted to enjoy a nice family meal with our children. The food was okay and was not that great, my husband got sick right after eating the buffalo chicken burger with chili added to it. But if you call yourself a bar, do not serve margaritas from a mix that literally tasted like Lysol. Undrinkable. I should have just gotten a beer. The nachos were very generous portion but the meat was a shredded pot roast with some cooked peppers. No jalapeños or beans. Salsa was mediocre. Chef salad was a good size but no cheese on it and just standard bottled dressing. Just ok but I was glad they had a salad on the menu that was not the usual Caesar that is everywhere. The Tiger Bar was the perfect place to stop in for a hearty, home-cooked meal. We visited during the shoulder season, so it was quiet, but the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. We ordered their famous Bloody Mary, and it was FANTASTIC. Our server (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) told us she was one of the original creators of the recipe 35 years ago. She even shared the "not-so-secret secret ingredient," but I'm keeping it to myself. You'll have to visit and find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed! My husband and I shared the daily special: a Turkey BLT with fries and a cup of the loaded baked potato soup. We finished with a slice of freshly made, in-house blueberry pie. No photos because everything was too delicious and we dug in immediately. We will definitely be back, and I'm excited to try more of their menu. Well.. We are back. And nothing really had changed. I always question why we come here and it really comes down to this... It's the only place open after 8. Our waitress was swamped and she was definitely better than the one we had the year before. Management here really needs to help these ladies out and hire more staff. Our waitress was taking orders, bussing tables, making drinks and bringing food out. It's not fair to them and it really makes the business look bad if they work their employees like dogs. Now the food is still as mediocre as years prior, but the prices are going up. This bowl of soup was no better than a can of Campbell's red label. It was luke warm and the smallest of bowls. The French dip was ehhh. Fried however were really good. So I ordered a side of fries. Then a group of locals came in 10 minutes before closing, celebrating a birthday and ordered a crap ton of shots. Well guess who had to make them?... Our waitress. So we just sat there while she made at least a dozen drinks while my fries sat under the heat lamp. I wanted to eat then with my husband but instead we just sat there... Waiting. And when we finally got them, we just got the excuse, sorry I had to make drinks. The other waitress could have helped. The back of the house? This review is more of a 3.5 star review vs 4. So, I'm a bit biased as this place is nostalgic to me. I grew up coming to June Lake every summer and Tiger Bar is part of the scenery. However, that being said, I was pretty disappointed by the quality of food. We came for breakfast. I ordered an omelet, which was ok, but nothing to write home about. Be aware if you order an OJ, the small portion is given in an actual shot glass (ridiculously small). I had to send mine back and order something else because the juice was rancid. :( The service was pretty good and people are kind. Would I come back for breakfast?
