We were all waiting for the game of Mexico vs S. Korea. But wait, we need munchies and snacks. We got chips and dip but wanted more because the game is played at dinner time. So Mexican food is perfect while we watch TV. Lorena's Mexican Food is a favorite and the drive thru is very convenient. My order was plenty and the friendly lady at the window was very able. Our orders included #8, #22, 2x Bean Burritos, a Breakfast burrito, and I wanted to try an off menu delight of a pork and a chicken Tamale. It didn't take much time and now is back home before the game starts. Oh wow, the lovely missus really liked the crunchy tacos and Enchilada of #8 , so do I, they were really good. I am also munching on both Tamales and I would go back for more. Later the breakfast burrito was a winner as it filled a dinner plate with bacon and eggs goodness. The salsas came in at the medium level for heat just as we liked. The bean burritos will be a filler item for a later munching. This place is such a hidden gem! I can't believe I didn't try Lorena's sooner. The carnitas can be hit or miss elsewhere, but their carnitas and adobada tacos blew me away. They come topped with guac, pico, and a fried jalapeño, and I highly recommend the green sauce! I'm not a burrito person, but theirs was amazing... The lady who takes my order is always so sweet and friendly. They accept Apple Pay, and while I usually go through the drive-thru, there's also a small outdoor seating area. Honestly, I've always wanted to try this place because I always pass by their bright yellow sign. A couple nights ago, I decided to pull the trigger. I got out of the car to order and online it said they close at 10:00pm but they actually close at 9:30...we got there around 8:20-8:30 and they were already cleaning and wrapping up. We ordered a mar y tierra burrito, 2 chicken enchiladas, 2 beef enchiladas, and a horchata. Total came out to be around $33-34. A little steep for what it was, but I wanted to try. Burrito: I guess I can't exactly blame the establishment entirely since we got there closer to closing but the burrito was one of the greasiest I've had in a very long time. Just holding the burrito and biting into it there was grease and oil spilling out. I knew that this one would wreck my bowels but I finished it for the Yelp review. Enchiladas: they were...okay. The sauce had an odd bitterness to it. Tasted like the enchilada sauce you get from the can. You can definitely taste a bit of that metal. Horchata: it was good. It's horchata. It's hard to mess up. The service: the lady who took our order was sweet but she almost forgot our horchata and I had to remind her a couple times. I also asked her for both red and green sauce on the enchilada and she acknowledged my order but I ended up receiving just the red sauce. If this was a late night spot, I wouldn't be mad. If I was coming back from a night of drinking and this was open at 1-2am, I would wolf down all of this no problem. But they close at 9:30pm and their food is leaves a lot to be desired so I don't think I'd come back, especially since there are better spots to get Mexican food that close around the same time. Well I must add this review because twice now I have ordered either crunchy tacos or taquitos and twice had to throw them out! They were so very hard could not even eat them. Crunchy is one thing but when you can't even chew them that is a bit much. Almost like the tortillas are either too thick or been frozen too long, inedible either way. read more

I go here often and the quality and service is consistently excellent. I usually get a breakfast burrito with a few modifications and they are ALWAYS done well and the staff are always so friendly and never act like modifications are an issue. I will not return. I ordered carne asada nachos. The chips were very stale, salsa had no taste, and the guacamole tasted really old. Like they mixed old guac with new guac to keep the color sort of bright green and new. It was so off! The salsa is very watered down.. the lady charged me $1.50 extra for a large when I didn't ask for an upgrade. It wasn't even that big of a portion either lol. Overall, it was my first time visiting and will not return. Would not recommend trying either! I had a ton of naked chips leftover because there was not a lot of meat, let alone cheese or guac toppings either. They hella skimped out.... Yea, very disappointed. Steer clear. Perhaps go to the popular place down the street for their famous carne asada fries/nachos. It's cheaper by a few dollars, way tastier, and the portion size is larger. They charged me $14 here and I paid cash, but they didn't include a cash discount like the rest of their customers on here that posted their receipt. Picked up two beef tacos , beef taquitos and a combo plate with Chile verde. The flour tortillas were very good. Like homemade, large. The taquitos and tacos were very hard with hardly any beef filling . The beef was very weto without any flavor or seasoning and dry. The avocado/guacamole was something that got pumped out of a can? . Not a sign of real avocado in sight. Frijoles meh bland , and Mexican rice passable with a little more mild flavor. The Chile verde had bite/flavor but the meat used was of a lesser quality and a bit chewy, should have been soft and tender. Nothing that reminded me of home & my Tia's cooking . First time would have been a 5 star rating. Ordered 2nd time and was not happy. Shrimp cocktail had jalapeño seeds all up in it. First bite burned my lips amd roof of my mouth! Took over an hour to recover and then had to toss it. Tried to remove the seeds by straining the juice and found like 6 pieces of shrimp lol from a large order. Thought I would give this place a shot since it's closer to my house than Sabrosada. This review is based on the price of the veggie burrito. Went through the drive through and ordered what I always order, a veggie burrito. A friend of mine ordered the five mini taco plate. Didn't ask about the price and headed to the pickup window. After about 5 minutes, the cashier came out and said the total was $17.54. I was a little shocked, seemed kind of expensive for what we ordered. I went ahead and paid and asked for the receipt. Reviewing the receipt I noticed abnormal charges for 1X Asada Burrito ($6.25) and 2X Extra Guacamole ($1.50). I asked the cashier why I was charged for an Asada Burrito and extra guacamole twice since all I ordered was a veggie burrito. His response was, "We don't have an input on our point of sale system for a veggie burrito." I get that the place is new and maybe everything isn't setup yet, but why would you charge for one of the more expensive Asada burritos ($6.25) and then add additional charges for guacamole ($1.50) TWICE! Veggie burritos are typically less than Asada Burritos. The total for my veggie burrito was $9.25+Tax! I would have probably let it go if he just charged me for an Asada Burrito, but to charge me twice for additional guacamole and one of the burritos with meat was just ridiculous. My advice to management, come up with a set price for a veggie burrito. My advice to customers, only come here if you want to pay a ridiculous price for a veggie burrito. The burrito wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I'll probably continue going to Sabrosada, where I can get a better veggie burrito for half the price. Happy Holidays. read more

Was excited to see a new Mexican food joint open up nearby me since my #1 favorite Alerto's died and became Sabrosada. Sadly, my expectations were not met. I ordered the fish burrito, super fries and taquitos. The fish burrito had one soggy piece of fried fish with iceberg lettuce and pico de gallo. The tortilla was soft and stuck to the wrapping paper since it was not wax coated. The super fries were pretty good; the carne asada on it was flavorful but there was no pico de gallo on it. Lastly, the taquitos with cheese and guacamole were just meh. They weren't very crunchy and the meat inside was flavorless. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and come back in a few months to see if they've improved. Til then, back to Sabrosada I go. read more
