Went there on New Year's Eve with bf and friend. There was a short wait and we ordered breadsticks with a tropical (Hawaiian) pizza and the chicken pesto. Waitress forgot to write down the breadstick order and when we asked about it 35 minutes later, she apologized and gave them to us for free. The pizza was really good especially with their sweet and spicy seasoning and parmesan cheese. I've been here on a date before and would definitely come back for really good pizza. read more

This was a really fun stop on an out-and-back bike ride from Cleveland (beer is a great training and recovery drink!). The pizza was nothing amazing, but it did the trick. Sipping beer on the patio is a nice treat on a warm summer day. I have other favorites in Oberlin, but that patio and pie will lure me back on nice days. read more

Starting to warm up to Lorenzo's. Was spoiled when we had magpies in town. Sure, it's pretty greasy but the dough and cheese and sauce are great. Highly recommend the margarita pizza. Also take out is key, usually packed and have to wait a while to get a table. Overall, a good pizza spot. read more

Simply great pizza, not just for a college town, but overall. I miss this stuff. The young servers are always a little frustrating to deal with, but the staff that have worked there for years are champs and super friendly. Lunch here is really affordable and hits the spot, and if you're not right near the town lunch rush, you won't be waiting long. When it gets busy? Well, the line can go out the door and the wait can get a little obnoxious if you are expecting fast food. It's worth the patience. read more

Visited from out of town on a Sunday afternoon 7/13/14 after a baseball. Waitress with no personality, and didn't know the menu. Slow service. Ordered bread sticks and pizza. Drinks not refilled in a timely manner. Bread sticks took ten minutes to get to the table. Took forever to pay. Fortunately the food was very good, just not worth the poor service. We'll probably give this place another try as it's close enough to the ball fields we routinely play at up here. Hopefully we have a better experience. read more

Lorenzo's is a no frills kind of place. The pizza is really good, but you may get juice glasses to drink out of, have to wait for a while for someone to take your order and it's hit or miss on how nice your waitress will be and don't waste your time on the breadsticks or garlic bread. Breadsticks were just bad and the garlic bread is basically a sub bun, cut in half with garlic powder sprinkled on it and some cheese melted over it, for sure not worth the money. However, if you are looking for a place that has good pizza and salads you should check this place out. Back in my day there were two pizza establishments in Obie-land: Frank's and Lorenzo's, which used to be called Cimino's. Frank's was thin crusted NY-style 'za and had a big mural photo of the Big Apple on its wall to emphasize the point. Lorenzo's was thick-crusted Old Country pizza, and offered a unique whole wheat dough to boot. I was always a Frank's boy, but the Lorenzo's was tasty in a pinch. read more

The food was great. However, the manager David that was working was very unprofessional. At first, he came over to ask how things were going and it was okay. My brother and I were catching up from not seeing each other in some time. There were only 2 other tables occupied and we were conversating with our waitress when David returned while drinking and talking to us. He returned a few minutes later to tell the waitress that she needed to clock out (while waiting on us) and continued to have an argument with her on the dining floor. He handled it very poorly and was noticeably drinking heavy while on the clock. We used to frequent Lorenzo's and enjoyed it. As long as this is the type of service, my family and I will not be returning. read more

Before we even walked in the front door, we walked past a brick pizza oven on the back of a pickup truck. This struck me as a good pizza omen. Inside the front door is a call-in pick up area, and a wall of delicious pizza smell washed over me! It smelled like heaven. The inside has been remodeled in the last year or so, but since this was my first visit I can't compare the two. The inside is small, and probably only seats about 30 people, but has a nice understated decor. Once we were seated and had ordered, it took a little longer than I had expected for us to receive our food... but when it arrived all past grievances were forgotten. We ordered a large pesto pizza, which was HUGE and the crust was amazing! I tend to prefer a thinner crust, but this was more hand-tossed style. It wasn't heavy though, and had a perfect texture. The tomatoes on my pizza were a little pink/sad, but that's what you get for ordering a pizza with fresh tomatoes in the wintertime. They have a house-made italian dressing that is AMAZING - seriously, buy a pint of it to take home! My only other complaint is that they chilled their pint glasses, which made a little ice slushie on the top of the beer. Come for the pizza, then check out the nearby shops to walk it off! read more

A co-worker ordered pizza for lunch today and it came from Lorenzo's. All I heard about was how good the chicken alfredo (without chicken) pizza is at Lorenzo's. I was skeptical, as the pizza places here just aren't the same as back home (NYC, NJ, Philly). I was pleasantly surprised by Lorenzo's. The pizza was very good, including the crust! Lorenzo's is very good pizza, extra greasy, but tasty. Service is mediocre and the food is bit on the expensive side for what you get so that's why I give4 stars. They also make an amazing homemade dressing that you can buy by the bottle. read more

The best pizza I've ever had. The other dishes are okay, but the pizza is really the star. The dough is perfect; not too thin or too thick. Used to love this place but not after today. Arrived today and place was half full. Hostess and waitresses were nice. Ordered drinks and appetizers and everything was fine. Appetizers brought out and were good then....after 45 minutes of waiting for pizza and lasagna, we were told they double sold our pizza. After another 20 minutes, still no food. At this point, we told waitress to just box up the meal because we were leaving. 15 minutes later still no food. We paid for the appetizers and left. I give some credit for waitress for for trying to flag us down in the parking lot with our food but it was too late. I WILL never frequent this establishment again until they hire a staff that knows what they are doing. It's a shame really. read more

I started eating at Lorenzo's 15 years before I moved to Oberlin. Of course the pizza is great with many options for toppings. While I tend to stick to tried-and-true favorites when I eat at restaurants, a few years ago I had the opportunity to try their lasagna. Best. Lasagna. Ever. So flavorful with gooey, melty cheese. I also really like their salad with the house dressing. I think it speaks well of a restaurant that it can do great business without having a store front on main street. When I get the chance to recommend restaurants to Oberlin visitors - Lorenzo's is at the top of my list. read more

It had been a year since we had been here, so we thought we would try it for dinner on a Tuesday night! Wow is all I can say... when we got there the hostess asked how many and seated us without saying another word, very rude person. When we got there it was not terribly busy, service very slow, took 45 minutes to get our food, forgot half of our order, although the food was excellent, which is probably why people keep coming back. Food was not great, and taste like Pizza Hut just not as cheap. Customer service did not exist, it felt like. All the staff hangout in the front u-shaped booth and fold Silverware and talk about stupidity. I can't believe there was not better place for employees to do their jobs and not to bother the customer. And for being Italian pizzeria all they did was play 70s rock and roll, like you was in a sports bar... When I'm trying to eat at a Italian Pizzeria all I should be hear the Italian/Tuscan music or Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin at least. The truth is this place has the great potential because of it's Decor inside and out. If this place could just improve the atmosphere and their pizza food. This place would be on point. My husband and I both have celiac disease, thus we need to eat gluten-free foods. Lorenzo's has the best gluten-free pizza we have ever eaten and the service is wonderful. There can be a little wait especially if they're busy because they make the food fresh, but most of their food is great. Their wings are the best in town - huge! Their basic cheese and pepperoni pizza is delicious, as is their lasagna. I get the mesclun salad as the regular salad is just iceberg lettuce. Most of the ingredients are delicious and many are organic and imported, and they also have gluten-free pizza. There is a nice outdoor patio when the weather is good. The prices are moderate - not cheap. Besides the side salad the only item I've ever gotten that I didn't think was worth the money were the appetizer stuffed peppers as the serving was so small for $7 it was gone in about 2 bites. Overall, this restaurant has great tasting food and is also pretty healthy. read more
