Loretta's is bomb! I love the tavern burger with a side of fries. It gets packed in there on nights and weekends and there isn't much seating so get there before the rush to get a table. If not you can sit outside on the patio. There is a fireplace and big heaters! Popped in for late lunch on a Friday & had Delicious cheese burgers. Crisply grilled wonderful juicy mess that was hard to set down once I dove in. The place was busy, a bit loud with music & voices yet bearable. Service was friendly & fast. Be aware burger pricing was a la carte: xtra for fries, tartar sauce, xtra pickles. Husband has been wanting to go for a while now so we finally made it a point to stop on our way up to Seattle. Lots of outdoor seating, small dark and moody bar inside. Hubby got a beer and I got a grapefruit mimosa. Both just what we wanted. He got the double cheese and I got just a regular cheese. Now I'm not a big burger person, but I have to say this burger was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Everything you could want in a burger, juicy, a little messy, cheesy, fresh from the grill. If I had more time, I'd for sure make it back in. They seem to get a pretty good crowd in on sundays for the games. It also looked like they had a pretty solid tap selection. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with the sole purpose of trying their famous Tavern burger - the bf heard about it on some list for best burgers in Seattle, and wouldn't stop bringing it up. So when the opportunity came, we decided to check out the hype. It's located in the South Park neighborhood, so a bit of a drive from the city. The best I can describe this place is "cozy" - it's got a neighborhood feel with dim lighting, low ceilings, and wooden floors + tables. Street parking is relatively easy - we found it a block away in a neighborhood across the street... just make sure you read the signs carefully on parking restrictions. Couple things to note here: - No children allowed! We saw families get turned away, but this is a bar after all. - Grab a menu, order at the bar, and seat yourself. They have seating near the bar and there's nice outdoor seating as well. - No take outs. That said, we took a seat in one of the booths and ordered the following: Irish Nachos: Basically french fries with the fixings of a baked potato (bacon, sour cream, cheese, chives, etc) - this is definitely a side to share between 2 people because it's big. Also super filling and good. The fries are extra crispy with the skin left on. Tavern Burger: My friend and I each got a burger - my initial impression was that it looked like a slightly larger regular Dick's cheeseburger, because of the simplicity. If anything, it's the upgraded version that puts the Deluxe Dick's burger to shame... since they're both around $4. The patty is really good since it's grilled, and you can taste the difference. It's also a thicker patty than Dick's. Although it only has onions and pickles, they actually work well with the meaty patty and cheddar. The "special" sauce seems to be some kind of mayo based sauce, so fair warning if you hate mayonnaise. I love mayo on my burger, so this was definitely up my alley. Quite the satisfying burger, tasty too. Is it the best cheeseburger in Seattle? In America? It's definitely one of the better cheeseburgers and probably the best bang for your buck in terms of quality. I could see how these would be the greatest burgers ever if you were drinking at the bar late at night - there's a certain appeal about sobering up with Tavern burgers. But I don't think it's worth quite the hype, especially if you don't have business in South Park (we had gone to the Kubota Garden nearby). I've definitely had better burgers. However there are other items on the menu that entice me to come back, and the food is reasonably priced! Not sure why they don't post their menu prices online, but they had some good looking items like a fried pork chop sandwich and a steak and eggs brunch item. I felt a little out of place stopping in for lunch alone, but I was determined to enjoy a burger and fries on a sunny weekday afternoon. This is a cosy bar that's been around for quite some time. I've heard about this place on Yelp. I decided to stop in and give it a try, while I was in town. It's a neighborhood gathering spot. It's a typical bar that serves pub grub. It's very non descript. There is parking in front of the bar on the street. If there is not parking on the street, there is parking around the corner, curbside. I got the Double Tavern Cheeseburger, it was pretty good. I didn't try the version with bacon, the next time I am in town, I will try it. I watched a little of the Super Bowl, while I ate. I enjoyed the burger, I chased it with a Coca-Cola.The staff was friendly and fun to watch the Super Bowl with. Very cool vibe, very tidy and a warm family feel to this bar. I live in Southpark, and my friend and I decided to have lunch somewhere local. Uncle Eddie's was closed so we decided to go to Loretta's. I have had a few burgers there and have always enjoyed it. First of all, I had to order at the bar, they kinda shouted to us to come and get the menus, so we ordered two fish and chips and water. The waitperson tells me "there's a water bar over there ," and pointed. So, we finally get the Fish and Chips. Super hot, but, unfortunately, very greasy. This place is great!! It's a little hole in the wall dive bar. I got the tavern burger and I always ask for just meat and cheese, no bun or veggies and they always make it right. Their fries are also amazing too and if I had all the money in the world I would go multiple times a week! Service depends when you go. But for the most part it's good. A much nicer and healthier side salad than you usually get for $5. The double tavern burger was near perfect. The beef was flavorful and seemingly hand-shaped (?). It had two slices of cheese and came fully wrapped so they melted well. The sauce and pickles complimented everything. Two of the cucumber slices in the salad were a little mushed on one side. An awesome place in a great neighbourhood. Walk under the cool sign into a small place. Bar on left, four booths to the right. Wood plank flooring and ceiling. The bar itself is wooden with no rail or foot rest with 12 unique bar stools, round with no back support, that have an "extra" extended rail at the bottom to rest your feet. Back bar contains a smattering of shelves, a couple small TVs, and a classic Hamm's moving sign. Beyond the bar is the kitchen and a couple lower eating tables. Past that is a great outdoor area. The burger and fries are amazing. The burger is classically grilled with great edges and the fries are freshly cut and fried. Bartenders were friendly but a little odd at the same time.
