Went to OC Smiles on Friday 3/13/26 for a loose implant because my dentist is closed on Fridays…read more Helena was great and the only good thing i will have to say about my experience. I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. From my initial intake meeting, getting my prescriptions and directives, going under, and the aftercare, he went above and beyond my high expectations. Dr. Yoshikane and his staff were personable, knowledgable, and easy to talk to from the start. I immediately felt comfortable during a very uneasy and fear induced and anxiety ridden time for me. I had previously gotten my first two wisdom teeth removed over thirty years ago, and the experience was so horrible that I had put off getting the last two out this long. Dr. Yoshikane answered all of my questions and explained the plan and extra plans in the event the first plans weren't working for me after the removal. After the procedure I was under constant watch and care by Dr. Yoshikane through phone messages with my husband. He contacted us for the first three days even going as far as to check on me at midnight the first day of the surgery. Seriously! My husband was impressed with the level of concern and questions that Dr. Yoshikane asked him, because it truly showed he cared about his patient's wellbeing, and wasn't just jumping through a hoop. I just left my after care appointment and everything is going great! My surgical areas are closed, the medications are all working in tandem without residual pain from the surgery. My swelling is minimal, and I get my stitches out in two weeks. I can't thank Dr. Yoshikane and his team of professionals enough for making an anxiety ridden experience into a positive one.
