I always start my reviews with the positives, and I rarely rate low. However, this dentist, Tustin Plaza Dental Group, took advantage of having high reviews on ZocDoc, me being kind, and did quick work, don't trust the reviews that say, was faster than I expected, yes was true for me as well, but ALL the work they did, later got infected, and thanks to Gold Coast Dental, I am getting proper treatment to fix Tustin Plaza Dental Group's multiple mistakes. I regret giving Dr. Antonela Kroqi, DDS, a five-star review and wish I could go back and warn other users, which is what I am doing now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front desk people are super kind and helpful, and I appreciate them greatly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]; however, Here are the red flags I ignored that I wish I hadn't and got a second opion sooner. 1. Dr. Antonela Kroqi, DDS, met with me for less than five minutes the first time I booked an appointment with her and shoved me onto her male Dr. colleague so she could clock out and go home. 2. Because she went home early, they made me come back in for x-rays to retake them because she was unhappy with the results and said, "I rushed through them the first time; this time we will take time." 3. When I was supposed to see HER again for my crown, I was tossed to the male Dr. colleague again, which was okay, I get that doctors get busy and things happen, what was NOT okay was this Dr, dropped my new crown into my mouth! Almost to the back of my throat, and shouted "Don't swallow!" then pinched my tongue with pliers to get it out. Then did not say anything when it was actually out of my mouth, so I lay there frozen in fear, not knowing what was going on. Then he glued it to my mouth without checking the INSIDE, guess what? About a month and a half later, yeah, it got infected and caused a major flare-up in my gums and other parts of my mouth. I have now had a root canal on that exact tooth, a deeper cleaning, and I am getting a replacement crown that will not be weak like the material they use. 4. They charged my card literally while I was getting treatment; they told me insurance would cover some- huge LIE. I know now that Insurance would have covered more than HALF the procedures if they had actually asked insurance. I know that because I am not paying to fix ALL their mistakes at Gold Coast, which is a lot cheaper too, and has payment plans. 4. I went back to take the X-rays and was shown that I may have to have two bottom issues with grey pockets, another lie. My bottom teeth are completely healthy. 5. The Dr that put the crown on didn't even do it RIGHT! It caused me more pain for days, I begged to come back in, but politely, and they told me to wait a bit longer and then come in. I did, and then Dr. Antonela Kroqi, DDS, asked me why I didn't come in sooner. She was shocked by the lack of effort in my crown placement and didn't understand that I couldn't eat/bite down with that side of my mouth. She ground it and took her time with finding the proper placement, but mind you, [[HIGHLIGHT]]this is 4 trips in now, four days where I lost money coming into work late or taking the day off because I work during the time there are open, and of course, my 6th red flag, they have no WEEKEND appointments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 6. The hygienist did a BAD Job, and it also got infected! I literally went to a second dentist, and they were appalled when I told them that I had a deep cleaning about a month prior. They found plaque and other remnants from a bad cleaning and told me that the hygienist rushed the job; it didn't even look like I was given a deep clean. For the cost of all that work for almost 2k, I was PISSED. Plus, I spent 3 hours at the Gold Coast getting a proper cleaning and medicated mouthwash to undo all the damage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hygienist was kind, but looking back, didn't care about my dental gums, only about selling me an electric toothbrush[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], which I am happy with, but the Gold Coast also had to show me/teach me how to properly brush with it, which sounds silly, but they showed me that due to my age, my mouth has changed, which means brushing styles change. Oh, they also proved through proper X-rays using newer technology that my bottom teeth had 0 issues. 7. There were leaks in the water coming out from the chair/wire, and when I pointed it out, they told me not to worry about it. The second time they tried to put me in the leaky chair, I said nothing, and they just took me to a different room and told the Dentist that the broken chair would be fixed tomorrow if the people called back. During my transfer of rooms, the dentist wasn't paying attention to the arm with all the tools attached to it, and wrapped my leg in the wires, and then tugged on it, not looking when telling me to get up and move rooms. 8. The roach that followed me out of the bathroom during my last visit to this location. Bugs are gonna be where people are, but I could tell by the team's reaction to it that it was way more common than it should be. read more

I've been calling for months at this point for them to adjust my claim since they did not submit my xrays. I keep being told they will email me back and call me back, but they never do. I've recorded voice calls since they never remember what they said they were going to do. Beyong frustrating. I was originally told my wisdom tooth extraction would be $800. The day of suddenly I have to pay $5500. This place is ridiculous and I hope whoever considers this place seriously reconsiders. They did not explain how to pay or even file my claim correctly. I visited Tustin Plaza Dental Group back in February for the first time. The reason for my visit was to replace my retainers as I had accidentally stepped on the top retainers and cracked it. I had taken such good care of my retainers up to that point that I had the same retainers for almost 25 years, so my original ortho had deservedly retired. Darlene was the dental assistant that helped me out during my visit. The dentists here are very good with my kids and they do fantastic work. They work with my insurance without a hassle and it's affordable for me to bring my family here. This dentist also has an orthodontist office in the same building. I was very hesitant about the orthodontist because I have been told at least $5K for braces by several providers and that's too expensive. This dental office and orthodontist gave me a 2 year braces plan for my daughter that I can afford; almost half of what other places quoted. I'm very disappointed with the treatment plan I received at this dental office. I was told I had several cavities and needed two root canals, along with multiple caps. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion -- and I'm glad I did. The second dentist confirmed that I did not need two root canals and even remarked that the original treatment plan was unusually out of context and based on incorrect information. My 2nd opinion even stated one of the teeth mentioned in my plan there was no tooth there to begin with. He has never seen a more inaccurate plan in all his years of practice. Additionally, I was told by this office that they were Medi-Cal based but that root canals were not covered, which added to the confusion and frustration. The combination of inaccurate information and what appears to have been an unnecessary treatment plan has really damaged my trust in this facility. Patients deserve clear, honest, and accurate assessments. Unfortunately, my experience here fell far short of that expectation. Do not recommend at all. read more

I highly recommend Beanne for your dental hygiene needs! After my first teeth cleaning with her, my teeth and gums have never felt so refreshed. I can tell she is very knowledgable and experience by the way she took great care of me. She is always been very kind, courteous, and professional. I admit that I do not have the best teeth and was not well informed about dental care when I was younger but she never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed about it. Beanne has helped me get on the the right track to having better dental health. Dr. Antonela was also very informative yet not pushy about her recommendations which I appreciate. She took the time to explain why she made each recommendation and which matters were more urgent so I can plan accordingly. Staff overcharges on covered services. Beware!!! Quoted $97 for Service 02392. My insurance confirmed they were overcharging, almost 4 times. The correct fee is only $25 This office changed and they only care about the money now. WORST DENTIST EVER!!! I got my braces done there, and they kept telling me that every week that I was going to get them off towards the end and eventually, I signed a paper stating that I wanted them off before their advice, because my teeth were totally fine and straight,which I did no problem I went in for the retainer molding and then a week later they had me come in to pick it up. The top didn't fit at all, and they were trying to tell me that they had to redo the mold and have me come in two weeks later to pick it up which I thought was ridiculous because if they did it the first time in my teeth move that much in a week how are they gonna expect it not to happen the second time turns out THEY USED SOMEONE ELSE'S RETAINER IN MY MOUTH, AND WHO KNOWS IF THEY EVEN REMADE IT OR CLEANSED IT BEFORE GIVING IT TO THE ACTUAL PERSON Later on I went in to get checked for my teeth because I felt like I needed a deep cleaning and was told I needed an extra deep cleaning and that it would be $500 since my insurance doesn't cover it. I thought it was crazy and tried to go to another dentist who did a normal deep cleaning and my insurance covered and said Tustin plaza should've checked and offered the extra deep cleaning, but told me I didn't need it, but wanted to check to see if my insurance accepted it and they paid for half of it so I would've ended up paying only 250 for my deep cleaning with them instead of 500 with this place WHO LIKES TO OVERCHARGE FOR EVERYTHING AND NOT EVEN CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE IF THEY WILL COVER PART OF IT THIS IS THE WORST PLACE. THERE'S ALWAYS DIFFERENT LADIES IN THE FRONT AND DIFFERENT ORTHODONTIST. THEY NEED TO GET THEIR COP TOGETHER. read more

This dentist is only interested in money. They're terrible, they're not good at all. Run from this dentist because they're useless. I went to the dentist for just a cleaning and they wanted to charge me an extra $470.00 when my medical plan covers the cleaning, and they told me to leave.
