On the menu the chicken and waffles was 4 pieces of chicken and they only gave me 3. When my food was taking a long time one of the servers came up to me and said "Are you not hungry?" when I was waiting for my food which I found extremely rude. Love this sweet cafe so much! I would describe the food as sort of elevated diner food- it's simple but flavorful and the ingredients are fresh! It's also not too pricey which I appreciate. I ordered the grilled fish tacos with a side of fruit salad, and my boyfriend ordered the breakfast tacos with hash browns. We also got the $20 bottomless mimosas, which were refilled attentively throughout breakfast :) they have orange, peach, cranberry, and pineapple mimosas, so delicious. Horrible experince.!!!!!! Zero stars !! On Easter Sunday April 5, 2026, My wife and I drove 11/2 hrs from Santa Clarita Ca to Camarillo Ca. We were taking my sister to Sunday Brunch. Based on its passed reviews I chose Loru Cafe in Camarillo. I made a reservation through Yelp for this event in early March, anticipating the holiday crowds. The reservation was for 3 people at 3pm. To be sure all would be well for our celebration I called Loru on Friday April 3rd to confirm my reservation. I spoke to an employee by the name of Alex Rodriguez who indeed verified our reservation. Saturday the April 4th I recieved a confirmation text from Yelp. Upon our arrival approximately 2:50pm there were only emplyees in the restaurant. The second we walked in the door we were informed by one of the employees" We are closed" I informed them I had a 3pm reservation. again "we are closed". I responded I can see that, however I had a reservation and attempted to show it to this employee. She glanced an said. :Thats through Yelp "They didnt know we closed early today". I then informed her that I had confimed with an employee via phone the prior Friday April 4 . " who did you talk to?"I said Alex Rodriguez to which she responded " he doesnt work Sundays" I said I would like to speak to the manager. She left for a few minutes returned and informed me "the manager was gone for the day" Never "I'm sorry", "what can I do to make it better?" nothing. We left with our Easter pretty much ruined. All the other restaurants in the area were understandably full. The next day I called Loru and asked to speak to the manager. The person who answered stated he was the manager. I asked for his name. He said why do you need to know my name ? I said I had a complaint. After 3 requests he stated his name was Rubacalva.Then he stated I should hurry he was busy. I said well it may take some time. He then hung up the phone. So I am extremly unhappy with the outcome needless to say, I will never go back there.The employees I encountered where terribley rude and disrespectful lacked any empathy what so ever. My real hope is the owner reads this Yelp and has some customer service training with his employees. It was a horrible experince !!!! read more

I had been meaning to come here since they've opened and I was happy they had a Yelp live wait list so I put our name on there while on the way to avoid waiting too long in case they were busy. Sandwiches and burgers are so amateurish, zero culinary thought put into the preparation. The breakfast is better but still on the lower scale of expectations. I would say a 3 for the spicy chicken sammy and fries, and a total 5 for the fish tacos! Spicy Chicken Sandwich-Decent sized fried chicken breast with hot sauce, but nothing special. The fries are your typical frozen variety steak fries. Good meal but would not order this again and would definitely skip the fries. The star of the show was the Ensenada Fish Tacos. Everything I have ordered from this restaurant is delicious, the food never disappoints. Especially their shrimp tacos, I love their shrimp tacos! The reason for my 3 star review is the service here. Every time I send in my bf to pick up my order, he expresses his frustration of the lack of customer service and professionalism. For example, he went in today to pick up my order and they much rather talk than help their customer. Today, I ordered their breakfast burrito and I asked the gentleman to add avocado and salsa on the side. I paid $3.99 to add little avocado slices in my burrito and the gentleman didn't forget to charge me for it, but there were no avocados in my burrito. :( I did not get any salsa as requested either. I have been coming to Loru's cafe for a while now, their food is always delicious with great portions. The restaurant is always clean and each time I've came i have been seated/ attended to quickly. Unfortunately I did come back today and had a different experience with a waiter named Leo. I always feel like anytime he's my waiter he's a little pushy trying to sell me the most expensive items on the menu. Aside from being pushy he doesn't give me the time to look through the menu, I am not exaggerating when i say in the time span of 4 minutes he checked up on me more than 4x asking if i was ready to order so i had to be a little rude and say "can you actually just give me five minutes to look over the menu and make a decision, thank you" and he finally backed off. Fast forwarding to when i had my food, as i was midway into my meal he comes back and leaves the bill on the table?? Loru's Cafe is an excellent restaurant located in the the west side of Camarillo Premium Outlets. They offer an incredible variety of delicious breakfast/brunch items at great prices. In addition, they offer breakfast items all day. They are now my favorite place in Camarillo for breakfast. They also offer very good lunch and dinner items at great prices. Also, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. My only warning is they can be very busy during normal breakfast/brunch hours. However, I've never had an issue with waiting or getting a table during dinner hours. In summary, I highly recommend Loru's Cafe, especially for breakfast. read more

This is a solid spot for brunch located at the Camarillo outlets and run by folks with over 30 years in the restaurant business. Best tip is they do have a wait-list on Yelp so have someone check in person or on Yelp and take a peek at some nearby stores while you wait if they're open This place gets packed , solid food at an affordable price with plenty of American and Mexican brunch staples . There's indoor and outdoor seating and is very casual. You'll see large groups and small groups making their way to the menus as wait staff drop off generous platters of food. You'll find yourself peeking at other tables and going " oh that looks good" . With so many options on the menu it's hard to go wrong. I've been there a few times and really like their hash browns and gravitate towards breakfast platters. On my recent visit I ordered the Loru's combo that comes with cinnamon roll French toast (so good) and choices of potatoes (went with hashbrowns), protein (I got bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. I've tried their pancakes in the past and there are a few flavor options and they have the option to add on fresh or canned fruits. Because it can get busy service at times can get slow and it may feel like you're not getting checked on , but if you're coming in with those expectations that on a weekend you're going to wait to be seated and for your food order, it's definitely tasty enough food that I'd be willing to come back again. I gave this place a third chance, and it will definitely be the last. My first experience was through DoorDash, and the food tasted as if it was cooked on a dirty stovetop--I could taste old oil and hints of other foods. The second time, I went in person and ordered an iced coffee, which was terrible. I returned it and decided not to order any food. For my third visit, I ordered the kids' mac and cheese with fries, a spinach scramble with toast and home potatoes, and half an order of biscuits and gravy. The mac and cheese turned out to be boxed Kraft mac and cheese. Are you serious? Do the chefs not know how to make macaroni and cheese? The fries were bland steak fries; for a kids' item, I expected smaller, more kid-friendly portions. The spinach scramble was the worst part. As the waiter brought it over, I smelled a terrible odor, like an unclean locker room. At first, I thought it might be the waiter, but the smell persisted. When I tried to eat, I realized it was coming from the Parmesan on my food. The odor was so off-putting that I couldn't eat it, so I got up and returned it immediately--I completely lost my appetite. The biscuit and gravy was just McCormick's country gravy mix, which is bioengineered. It's incredibly disappointing to see a restaurant using boxed and powdered mixes. Was feeling in a brunch mood and made the drive over the grade to get some delicious food in Camarillo. This is one of my favorite spots for brunch since not only do they offer bottomless mimosas but delicious Mexican and California style breakfast options. Service is a bit slow sometimes, but they are usually busy when we go. Our server this last time was very thoughtful and friendly. On a good day I like to sit on the patio as inside it can get noisy.
