Being Texas natives and loving our Mexican food, we've tried other places and they just don't "hit the spot" and while maybe 1 or 2 other places do the price is ridiculously too high for the quality and quantity of food you get and for our family of 5 that important. Drop in for a to-go order and was immediately greeted. Went over to the bar to place my order and the wait wasn't long considering a lot of people dining for Valentines. We're from Southern California and so far this is the best Mexican food we've been able to find in the area. We are accustom to some really amazing high quality, excellent Mexican food where we're from and we've tried several places around here but this so far is our favorite. I prefer waitresses without facial jewelry particularly nose rings. Don't mind me I'm just an old guy, but a waitress wearing a nose ring makes me doubt the sanitation of the whole place. Also, she couldn't tell me anything about the talipia. Before I eat talipia I have to know where it's from. So I'm driving through Georgia, as one does, and stop for a charge in Newnan, a little ways outside of Atlanta. The Mexican restaurant looked pretty American, but it was close by and I figured I could grab a burrito. Except that it turns out to be an ACTUAL Mexican restaurant, so there are no burritos on the menu. I got the Carnitas platillo and a gringo-sized horchata and damn if it didn't taste exactly like Mexico. I thought I was in DF. Great food, amazing service. What a great find!! We were looking for a place for dinner on our way to Albany and we found it via Yelp. What a cute and festive place!! We split a meal with a chicken special with shrimp on top , a salad with a big avocado chunk and rice. A creamy sauce was on top. It was delicious and flavorful! The chips and salsa were great! I always enjoy dining at Los Abuelos in Newnan. The food is consistently good and the drinks are great. I really want to give a shout out to Emerald the bar tender. She always greets customers with a smile and her great attitude goes a long way in raising the bar on service. She in the past has anticipated my needs. This is our second time trying this place the first time the service and food were exceptional, but today it was truly lacking. The hostess and curly hair woman was very rude. She just kept staring at us very rudely until the other Hispanic hostess approached us with an actual welcoming greeting. The server was really good. But the food the meat was borderline cold. The tortillas were cold and hard. The beans tasted burned. The rice tasted old. The horchata was really water down it did not have any flavor to it. Nothing to ride home about. I feel like fajitas taste the same at every Mexican restaurant. They're fine. They satisfy if you're craving them. I more so decided my family and I go to this restaurant because there is salmon on the menu (not often do you see salmon on a Mexican restaurant menu and I'm a big salmon fan). I ordered it. I didn't want the sauce and told our server that but I guess the kitchen didn't get the memo. It's okay though because it wasn't spicy. In fact, it wasn't even all that flavorful. Didn't really lend anything to the salmon itself. Over all, our dining experience was definitely a 3/5. We won't be back... But the server was very nice. read more

Basic mexican/texmex. You can't really go wrong, but you're not getting the best if that makes sense. They have the tacos, the burritos and the fajitas and your margarittas. The atmosphere is like they took over a large bar that died along with half of Newnan's youth. ;) Aside from this, the chips and salsa are great. You don't have to add much salt and it's almost too gluttonous to stop filling yourself. Portions are solid and the service is nice. read more

The food was authentic for the most part. I did ask for a hotter salsa... their basic is what my husband and I call "girl salsa" I need some spice! Our server Horacio made some spicy salsa special for me! My eyes were sweating! LOVED! I was a five diamond manager in Seattle... I would hire this server in a second! Amazing service. This Abuelos locations has a great staff, great looking set up and spacious inside. This was my wife's grandma's favorite spot to stop by for food and a margarita when she would drive to Newnan and visit. Everything ordered was tasty and the steak was on the tender side. This restaurant is located in one of the sub-plazas of Ashley Park near Newnan. On the east side of Newnan Crossing Bypass, the shopping plaza is fairly open on the far side, with a number of smaller, semi-self-contained sub-plazas fronting the road. One of these contains Los Abuelos. One drawback of that configuration is that the dedicated parking lot for the mini-plaza is somewhat limited and crowded. However, you can park a bit further away (in the large plaza lot) and walk over. We visited on a Saturday evening around 5:45 p.m. They were already packed, but were just short of having a wait. I think they started a wait list a few minutes later, though. The interior is a large rectangular space with tables throughout and a bar area at the back. The hard surfaces and crowds make this a noisy dining experience, which was really about the only minor negative. They also have a smaller side patio with maybe 8 - 10 tables. This place appeared popular for birthdays. I saw at least 3 tables sporting 'happy birthday' balloons and at least one got the full staff-sing-along-&-sombrero treatment while we were there. My wife got a set of 3 pork tacos and I got a standard combo. We both liked our food well enough. It was pretty standard Tex-Mex for the area. Their menu seems to hype their top 10 or so cocktails (margaritas, etc.) though they did appear to have some beer and wine options also. The staff was uniformly friendly, despite the huge crowd they were serving. If I lived closer, I'd be more likely to return. However, if I were in this area at mealtime, I'd definitely consider this place. read more

We received catering for a baby shower. The presentation, and the food were horrible. The catering did not provide any serving utensils. It did not look at all like the picture the restaurant uses for advertising. They did come back out and gave us serving utensils. The chicken was dry. The chips were placed in a cardboard taped-up box. The sour cream was not given an ice tray to keep it from turning into spoiled sour cream. They spilt water on our decorations on the kitchen island. The plastic silverware suppled was not only inexpensive but something I imagined would be used for a children's school. The plasticware broke at first attempt to use for eating. If you pay 18-20 dollars per person, your expectation is to receive quality not quantity food. I was embarrassed by this restaurant as I traveled from Texas to host a baby shower. read more

Ambiance was pretty awesome and is a great place to have drinks. They have a sports bar area, a restaurant area, and plenty of TVs to catch sports action. The waitress service itself was quite excellent. We had a young lady who explained everything clearly, and was super sweet. Food tasted great, just a bit salty, but I enjoyed it. Overall had a great time and plan to be back! One note: The greeters at the front need better training. There were 3 of them and none of them smiled.
