No, no, no......epic fail on 2 of the most simplest Mexican dishes; cheese enchiladas & the crunchy taco. I am of Mexican descent, therefore have huge expectations when I eat Mexican food at a restaurant, reason why I rarely eat at a Mexican restaurant anywhere, unless I'm in Mexico or California. Now, I understand that most Mexican restaurants in the U.S prepare and cater the dishes to suit a variety of taste palates, but why fill the enchiladas with what appeared to look and taste like Valvetta white cheese ‍‍‍. And why is the crunchy taco a copycat of a Taco Bell taco . I'll have to end on a positive note, the refried beans and rice were ok... I do not recommend and will never eat there again. read more

The food is pretty good for your basic Mexican American. They have good street tacos, guacamole is good only if you order the chunky. The soup is amazing and for many in Newnan, it's our go-to takeout order. But man, the service is SO bad. The last time I went this man just slammed down my entre and when I gasped, like wtf, he just laughed. I haven't been back to eat in. Just recommend getting take out. This USED to be our go to, for Mexican. Today, we went in for lunch, and we ordered the EXACT same thing. Burrito Dela Raqueta (?) Pork in a soft tortilla shell, with ONLY cheese. When they brought it out, they brought both, put one in front of my husband and walked off. Shortly, they came back, put one in from of me with a BOWL of sauce. They were covered in piqo, sauce, and NO cheesr!!! Total OPPOSITE, of how we ordered.. I told the guy, at the register, but NOTHING was mentioned!!! If you want good Mexican food, this is NOT the place to come!!!! Total waste of my time, and money today!!! read more

I have been there a lot since I have moved here. There is good amount of seating and a lot of items on the menu. The service is amazing. They asked us what we wanted and had it out in 25 minutes tops. They were packed right then. It doesn't get to loud in there but the Tvs has been loud before. That was a year ago tho so I don't think they still do this anymore. So do try this place because it is amazing. read more

El Ranchero has been my families go to Mexican place for 20+ years. The food is always hot, fresh, ample in size and most importantly great. It's always a "seat yourself" style place, which can prolong the wait time for service, but once they come your way, you are on easy street from there. Again, I am pretty partial to this place as it is easily a childhood staple for me. But, as picky as I am about food and service, this place would still serve high if I was just a passerby. Overall, it is a basic restaurant with Mexican fare, but is a special gem tucked into an unassuming shopping center that has consistently pumped out great food and good times for decades. First time visiting and I'm very very disappointed with this place. The reviews seemed pretty good, but I quickly realized how terrible the place was. Our server wouldn't even stop at our table long enough to make eye contact. We ordered queso and it didn't arrive until AFTER our food, we actually reminded the server about it twice. We had an empty salsa bowl and chip bowl for over ten minutes, even after being told by our server that he would get us more. He never checked on us and if we needed anything then we had to stop him as he quickly sped past us. When I asked for a to go Sprite, he didn't even fill the cup up all the way. It was as if he did not care at all about the customers. I will never return to this location. We have no idea how it was so busy with such terrible service. read more

We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. As others have said, it's a hidden gem. It's in a weird little strip shopping center, don't let that fool you. I highly recommend the Enchilada Suisas and their chicken taquitos. They're both simmered with spices, onions but not overdone. They're great at refilling chips and salsa, along with drinks. If you happen to get a dish that has sour cream ask for it on the side, as they tend to put a little too much on the plate. Prices are very reasonable. read more

My parents moved to Newnan. Whenever I'm in town from NYC we always end up at this place at least once. If I had to guess I think they've developed an addiction to the Texas Fajitas. Which, to be honest, are damn good. Seasoned perfectly, the meat (shrimp, steak, chicken) and vegetables (onions and green and red peppers) come to your table fresh off the skillet and leave you smelling like you just worked the lunch shift in a food cart. This is really all we ever order so I can't speak for the rest of the menu. The service is always good especially since the waiters know my parents are regulars. Can be a little slow during lunch, but even then it's not to the point where it's annoying or anything. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for Mexican. read more

In Newnan this week for business and decided to try this restaurant via takeout based on Yelp reviews. Ordered the Carnitas dinner and the Caldo de Pollo, Mexican chicken soup. Both were excellent and plentiful accompanied by chips and salsa. The Carnitas dinner also included both corn and flour tortillas. The food was flavorful, especially the soup! The Burrito Grande was excellent with plenty of chicken and beef(also comes with shrimp but I got extra steak instead). The other four members of my party had the Pollo Blanco and the were very pleased with it. My sister said they should serve it in a burrito. Service was good and it was reasonably priced.
