Went here around Cinco de Mayo with a heaux ass heaux lol, so of course... drinkssss were involved. And they did not disappoint on that front. The bar is definitely a highlight. I ordered the birria tacos, which came with a cheese shell on the outside. That part I didn't love. The cheese was too crispy and partially burnt--just not my thing. I would've preferred the cheese stay silky on the inside where it belongs. The flavor was there, but the execution took away from it for me. The hairy heffa I was with ordered a Chipotle-style bowl and a dessert, and both looked really good. No complaints from her. Aesthetics-wise, this place is super cute and flair well executed. Super nice vibe, great decor, and the service was good. And let's be real--the picture wall with the phone? Come on now. You already know I took pics. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. I'm hardly ever in Wellington and the spot is kinda tucked away but if you're nearby, it's a cool spot with a nice bar, good service, and solid vibes. Worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Wellington!!!! This restaurant has amazing Teremana margaritas and the molcajete "chef kiss". The murals and cute tequila signs make for great insta pics . Ohhh and Make sure to ask for Angie, at the bar, she's super attentive and I like that stuff. On this visit to Tulum, my boyfriend and I had a birria quesadilla and Churrasco with shrimp. So good we ate everything and left super full. We took a tres leche cake home, which wasn't home made sadly but with the food and drinks being good I honestly don't mind. Appreciate the consistency in a restaurant. read more

I came here for a family member's birthday on a Tuesday. The ambiance is nice and not too crowded. I tried the chipotle chicken chimichanga. I asked for the chipotle sauce on the side because I thought it would be spicy, but the chipotle sauce here was very mild and barely tasted like real chipotle sauce. I didn't like the chipotle sauce as much as I thought I would. I usually love chipotle sauce everywhere else I go, so I was pretty surprised by how different this one was. I also asked for a side of the poblano sauce and they said they ran out of it. Normally this would be fine but I was disappointed because they originally took my order with the Poblano sauce on the side and just never brought it out (or told me they ran out) until after I asked where the sauce was. They were nice enough to make me my own sauce but it was so spicy and full of chillis that none of us could eat it. A few people tried and could literally feel their stomachs burning. We had to order milk to calm down their stomachs. Overall, my chimichanga and the rice were flavorful and cooked well. I just wish they had better sauces that could go with the dishes. They also do give free chips and salsa, but neither of the salsas were my favorite. I would have preferred a more creamy salsa or sauce as a dip. Since we went on taco Tuesday, they had a deal for some of their basic tacos. You can get 3 tacos for $4 each, which is a pretty good deal. The only thing to keep it in mind is that it is a very basic taco and doesn't have the cool toppings like their special tacos. I would say it is probably worth it to just spend $1 more per taco and get three tacos for $16-17 if you can get more toppings in their special tacos. The con about their special tacos is that they are three of the same taco. They do not let you mix and match tacos unless you are choosing from their basic tacos. Also they charge an automatic tip for parties larger than 6 people. Just something to keep in mind in case you would like to bring a large group. read more

It's fairly nearby but for some reason we never went after it opened as a Mexican restaurant. We liked that you can be fully served night or day outside by the fountain or in the attractive interior. Servers were attentive. My beverage came out a bit late but it certainly didn't ruin the whole experience. Chips were warm and plentiful and the salsa very good. I love Ceviche, and Tulum's didn't disappoint! Best in our neck of the woods for sure - very fresh and an unusually large serving. Comes with avocado slices and spirals of fresh citrus. Will reorder this dish on the next visit! Oh... didn't mention the street corn-on-the-cob. Surprise, It comes loaded with melty cheese! We were too full for dessert.. Nice restaurant. read more

Updating after a couple more visits... Service has been a bit less attentive... We were grossed out by a menu that we were provided that had been closed with salsa in it. When I looked at the other menus, they were dirty as well. Menus need to be wiped off and sanitized regularly... I had a lunch date here on a rainy Friday afternoon. We arrived around 1pm and the restaurant had maybe four other patrons at the time. We were seated at a table in the back close to the bar. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. He brought out chips and salsa right before we placed drink orders, two shots of don julio, a strawberry supernova and a mango margarita. The chips were just ok. No taste of salt or lime. I wasn't a fan, but the salsa was ok. My strawberry supernova was disgusting. I honestly hated the drink and can't really pinpoint what did it for me but nothing about it. Was tasty at all. Somewhat resembled cough syrup. My date enjoyed his mango margarita. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer. It took a really long time to come out, but it was super fresh and flavorful. For an entrée, I chose the Birria quesadilla. The flavor of both the quesadillas and the consommé were amazing. I would definitely order these again. Portion size was large enough for me to have leftovers to take home. AMAZING MEXICAN FOOD! The best Birria Tacos I have ever had, hands down. I wish they had one of these in Miami! The Toasted Coconut Mojito was very good; it was fresh and strong. The Street Corn comes with 2 cobs and is very tasty (can be shared). The Birria Tacos were absolutely amazing. They were full of flavor, packed with the perfect amount of meat, and overall delicious. I highly recommend to give these a try. I would drive all the way back up here just to have Tulum's food again. The restaurant itself was decorated very nicely and made you feel like you were in Mexico. They also had a live singer which was very nice to have. Visiting the area for a weekend, we found Tulum last minute. Called to confirm availability and they had the table ready when we arrived 10m later. Great service from start to finish, and lucked out to have entertainment on a Friday night. The food presentation and taste were excellent - definitely not your typical chain restaurant. Tulum has become one of my favorite restaurants in Wellington. I love the atmosphere, drinks, and food. Some of my favorite appetizers and entrees include Smokey Bacon Guacamole, Queso Dip with Ground Beef, Fundida Fajitas, Birria Tacos, and Quesadillas, to name a few. Everything I've tried has been very flavorful and delicious. The owners, management, and staff are truly amazing and are in part what continues to keep me frequenting Tulum. All of the staff are very welcoming and deliver impeccable service to their guests. From the owners, managers (Felipe and Noe), the hostesses, bartenders, servers, and food runners, they demonstrate a focus, on what proves visit after visit, that they're fully committed to offering their guests an amazing experience all around. I want to be transparent and say that this review is from my visit to Tulum on 11/3/23. They had a special going on where they celebrated Día de los Muertos. I grew up with a Mexican family that lived across the street from my home and I ate plenty of "authentic" mexican cuisine so I know what an authentic taco and beans and rice plate looks and tastes like. Anyway, this place does not serve authentic mexican food. I ordered a carnitas taco plate and my friend ordered a steak chopotle bowl. A few things I noticed - 1. it took forever for the food to arrive at out table. 2. my carnitas tacos were hard as a rock and unedible. 3. the service was not efficient. To be more speciifc about the tacos. The meat was really tough and chewy and not flavorful. The beans and rice was cold. It took me another 10 minutes to get our servers attention and by that time, I was not hungry anymore so I told her that I did not want a new plate and I explained that the beef was hard and not flavorful. Long story short, when I got the final check she wanted to charge me for the taco platter. I asked her to take that off my bill since I didn't eat it. This action was apparently akin to getting a new bill passed in the US Congress. Next thing I knew the "manager" was grilling me about why I thought the carnitas tacos were no good. Again, I explained to him that the meat was hard and tough and not seasoned correctly. I can eat a piece of cardboard at home I thought to myself. Anyway, after much back and forth, the manager reluctantly took my tacos off the final bill. I would not recommend this place if the same manager is still there. However, it may be under new management so things may have changed. All I can say is - buyer beware.... read more

The place looks good and spacious. The decor is well thought out and conveys a sense of elegance. Then from here it goes South quickly. Food is average, nothing more than that and in the range of 5-6 miles you can find also cheaper places with same quality or better. It seems that all they took care of is the look. The service is dragged at the bar, but that's not even the main issue. The issue is mostly this: everything is pretty bland and overpriced, which just doesn't make this a good value place. The salsa that comes complementary with the chips is one of the tasteless I ever had. Margaritas are watered down, but here to be honest, I have to say many "Mexican" places in PBC do that. Still... The rice-and-bean was as if someone just opened a can of beans and add it to some overcooked rice. Overall, more show than real value; I don't expect real Mexican in PB County, but something has to work right: either you cook well with fresh ingredients, or you make good cocktails or you have good prices or the service is great. Tulum delivers a so-so experience that can be had for half the price in many other places. read more

This is a medium-large sized restaurant located in a plaza in West Wellington, so parking is not an issue. They have a large bar and in the center of the restaurant, right by the entrance, and two spacious dining rooms on each side of it. I love their décor, and above all the nice paintings on the walls, but unfortunately, the look is all I liked about this place. We came here one afternoon during the week for HH, which they run from 12 to 6pm on weekdays. There was a sign posted on a window advertising the specials for the HH: 50% off all alcoholic drinks and just two appetizers (jalapeno peppers and classic nachos), so we both ordered a margarita and the jalapeno poppers to share. The jalapeno poppers were not bad, but the drinks were very bland (same for the salsa that came with the complimentary tacos). Although we noticed that their prices are on the expensive side, we decided to try their Street Tacos with carne asada (coming with Spanish rice and pinto beans), just to have a better idea about their food. The meat didn't taste fresh, and was still better than the rice and the beans though...: the rice was tasteless, the beans were obviously simply taken out of a can. Although the place was almost empty, it was very difficult to get the staff's attention, and once we got the bill we noticed that the jalapeno poppers were charged at full price. Thinking that it was a mistake, we brought it to the bartender's attention, who explained that the poppers were not in HH and claimed not to know anything about the board on their window indicating otherwise. So, I went outside to take a pic and showed it to her just to hear back that "that was probably an old offer" - that's it, not only she didn't decide to charge us as advertised by them, she didn't even think of calling the manager to discuss the problem. Considering the "service", their high prices and the fact that the food wasn't the greatest, we won't be back: there are other Mexican restaurants that not only are authentic but also less expensive. read more

What an unexpected surprise. I like this place. The experience that I had was nothing but pleasant. We had a party of 5. The Manager William was right on point with drinks and recommendations. Monique, our server was so nice and attentive throughout the evening. Our entire party thoroughly enjoyed our margaritas. I highly suggest ordering the Watermelon Margarita along with the Jalapeño infused Tequila. Our food was delicious. We had fajitas, molcajete, carne asada, and the pina maya. Our after dinner drinks of cafecito and 1942 was welcomed with a complimentary flan. Now...I'm not a guy who beelines to the flan section because I have had so many homemade versions, but I must say it was one of the best I have had ever. Top 3! We have been patrons of this restaurant for the last 5 years. Bringing in our friends every time they visit the area. Tonight, the water tasted like pure bleach and we reported to the waitress. Concerned for our safety and others and requested bottled waters. The management went on to charge us for two water bottles and continued to serve bleach tasting water to others. Tulum has the best decor of any restaurant in Wellington. The food is hit or miss. I've had some good dinners and some not so good. For a Mexican restaurant to not have a decent hot sauce is sacrilegious in my opinion. Too much focus on obscure tequilas, not sure any bar needs this many variety's but to each their own. They have entertainment on weekends, the genre of music is not compatible with the restaurant, but they also close at 10pm on weekends whether the bar is busy or not. Overall it's not horrible but could use some minor changes. read more

My wife and I wanted to come here twice before leaving a review. I can say confidently that this is the best Mexican place we've been to in Wellington. There's so many positives to say- the service is always great and all the waiters are very attentive and professional. They give you free chips and salsa to start and the salsa is AMAZING. I'd buy an entire jar of it. Next, they always have great specials. Their happy hour includes tacos and drinks and it is a great value and deal. Also their margaritas are amazing, they are known for them. There's so many options and all of them are fantastic including the house ones. The entrees are also incredible. We ordered the carne asada and shrimp ceviche and both were incredible. The steak was so good, I was blown away by the flavor and tenderness. Lastly, the inside of the restaurant is very nice, modern and well decorated! There's a great ambiance and is great for a fun date night.
