Stopped in for the first time the other night with my daughter...took a little convincing to get her out of the car, as there isn't a lot of curb appeal, per se. DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU, this place is legit, and the food is fantastic. Started off by trying out the tacos, one of each to sample - personal favorite was the Al Carbon, they were about as good as it gets in my book. Continued on with some dinner samplings and I just have to say that everything was spot on - Los Amigos, you earned another fan/customer, I will definitely be back, and anyone who is reading this should definitely stop in too. We have given this restaurant a few opportunities and unfortunately we have had MULTIPLE bad experiences here. The first couple of times we tried to come to this restaurant they had decided to close over an hour early. The third time we went we called ahead of time to make sure they were open during normal business hours. They were, so we went in. After being seated we waited nearly an hour for our food. The food was pretty good, and there aren't lots of options in this area so we decided to try one last time and we ordered take out. We ordered three entrees and a queso. My husband got home with the food and there were no chips for the queso. The queso was there, the salsa was there, no chips. So we called to see if they would be open for us to return to the restaurant to get the missing item. It's not like we were going to eat queso and salsa with a spoon!! The woman that picked up the phone said the queso does not come with chips! That is a separate purchase! I don't know if she is a liar and they were just eager to leave early again, or if this is a policy but either way we will never be back and I will make sure to let anyone in the Ruskin area know that this place doesn't know how to do business. If you are in Ruskin and looking for good Mexican with good customer service don't bother with this place. The taco truck on the corner of college ave. And US41 has way better food and service. Yum! My husband and I go to Mexico every year and this is the closest we've ever tasted to their authentic cuisine. They're tortilla chips are exactly what we eat in Mexico....have not been able to find in the US. The guacamole dip is the best I have ever had. I ordered the three soft tacos,...one ground beef, one chicken and one pork. Truly, the best ever. My husband had three beef and cheese enchiladas with rice and whole beans. The food would get a 5, I gave it a 4 since it's just a little hole in the wall place. Quick, friendly service, good prices. Was open on a Sunday, which most places around here seem to be closed. Found this place while working in town. Excellent authentic food. The Pork Tamales are great and so are the tacos with flour tortilla. Homemade salsa and guacamole are delicious to. Family of 4 had an incredible meal! Started with the guacamole and chips - very fresh and chips were warm. Chicken fajitas were delicious and the combination plate had a tostada, taco, tamale, and beans/rice. Our daughter had a couple hard shell tacos and really liked them. If you want authentic Mexican, don't miss out on this place. Our waitress was extremely courteous and taught our son to put sugar on the tip of his tongue to cool down the very hot sauce they offer. Best Mexican food in the area. There signature dishes ( Carne asada, tacos ect) are wonderful but try their soup. Yummy!!! And filling.

Not a bad place to eat. Some might say the meat in the tacos was a little bland but I feel that was done on purpose to keep them simple as opposed to being over flavored. I tried the ground beef tacos and the barbaco tacos. $5 for a three taco platter with choice of side is a crazy good deal and reinforces how tacos were originally a cheap Authentic Mexican meal. Our waitress was a little slow to originally great us but I felt that was due to her and the other girls on shift just being busy - I never once saw any of them stop serving. Once she greeted us and took our order she was great and was very attentive to our request and made small talk with me when I paid the bill. Absolutely the best Mexican food on 41! Authentic, fresh and REAL tortillas!!!! It's a "hole in the wall" and the shopping mall it's in is sketchy at night, but the food is amazing. I had the fajitas to go and they tasted amazing in my kitchen. The frijoles "charro" are spicy, but that is what makes them some of the best ever! Eat Here if you love REAL Mexican food not "Tex-mex!" My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because they don't offer rice and beans as a side with the tacos. Rice and beans should be a given. The tacos are authentic and fresh. I haven't had a chance to try anything else on the menu because I can't get enough of the barbacoa and al pastor tacos. My husband had a breakfast with eggs, chorizo and potatoes and loved it. My only complaint is the soda is in cans and the hours. I know it is family owned and they need to go home to their families but I'm super selfish and tend to eat dinner after 8 sometimes :( read more

My wife and I went for lunch two days ago. The chicken tacos were amazing and the waitress was very spunky & fun. The tacos were so good that we took a group of 7 back there the very next day. We did take out from Los Amigos tonight. My partner had the tacos with fajitas, and I had the egg and potato tacos, with refried beans and rice. We also had an order of the chips and salsa.
