Los Aztecas has been a Sykesville gem for years and I can't believe I'm just now getting around to reviewing it! The service is always top notch. The waitstaff is always very polite and they check on you often which is appreciated! As for the food, it all comes out very timely no matter how crowded it is - and it's delicious. My friend and I ordered the table side guacamole and they seamlessly accommodated our request for extra tomatoes and no jalapeños (my friend isn't much of a spice fan). Our enchiladas and fajitas came out quickly and everything was DELICIOUS, per usual. The pork fajitas were bursting with flavor! The portions are generous too, so we left with full stomachs and leftovers. Great place! read more

Came here on a busy Saturday night. We waited for a table for about 20 minutes. When we got seated, our waiter seemed to be stressed and didn't exactly come off as "happy, smiley, welcoming". He rushed our drink order, and when it came, he was short on 2 drinks. At least we got to start off with chips and salsas, but even those were okay. We decided to order different combo variations (Enchiladas, Tostadas, and Burritos). They have plentiful vegetarian options, which is a positive to see. The food came after a while, but it was really busy, so it's understandable. But, the food was not hot, and when we asked to warm up some of the food, waiter didn't exactly seem he was wanting to. But, the food was okay, decent portion size. I did notice they have a cart to make fresh guacamole, which was cool to see. Seemed many tables got this as it was a popular option. But overall, it was decent visit for a busy night. The ambiance is nice, Latin style - booths on each side, with bigger tables in the middle of restaurant. Would I visit again? Good place. Has that hokey, faux Mexican villa look inside. Bright interior, a bit noisy, especially in the center seating area. But the booths are a bit more private. We all ordered different entrees, and they were delivered sizzling hot to our table. Portions are HUGE. If you order the margaritas, the large size is also huge. Service is quite attentive. I would call this Mexican "comfort" food. Not memorable, but very satisfying, especially when you're having a craving. People seem to have fun here, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Usually, a soccer game is playing on the flat-screen TV by the bar. Prices were moderate; three adults for dinner with some drinks and tip came to about $125. This place is definitely a repeat contender when it comes to deciding where to go for Mexican food going forward. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat at a booth. I'd like to add the seats in the booth are very VERY comfy. You won't only enjoy the food but your bum will be comfy as well. The waitress brought complimentary salsa and fresh chips. I liked the fact the salsa came in a jar so we didn't have to wait for a refill. Typically, I go for a burrito or enchiladas; however the carne asada tacos called my taste buds and it did not disappoint. The entree comes with three corn tortillas filled with juicy perfectly cooked carne asad meat. It was accompanied by pico on the side. I ordered a side of sour cream, guacamole and cheese to jazz it up. I also topped it with a little salsa from the chips and salsa. The pictures say it all! Maybe they'll add this as the Athena Special. The Guadalajara Special was certainly a special treat of an entree. It was steak and chicken accompanied by rice, beans, pico and guacamole. The beans came with cheeses mixed in which added flavor to the already cooked beans itself. The meat was very tasty and had a blend of delicious seasonings seared into it. The restaurant was huge and family friendly. They also had a nice bar at the back with tv's around the restaurant to catch a sports game during happy hour. I didn't catch when the happy was but by the looks of the bar and glance at the drink menu; I wouldn't be surprised if it's a catch. The service was great. Well, that was delicious!! We were looking for a new place to go for lunch with our Mom and found Los Aztecas. So delicious! We ordered the lunch sizes of Enchiladas Verdes, Combo #1 with a cheese enchilada and a Chile relleno, and Pollo Maya. I ordered a shrimp and crab quesadilla for takeout. It was one of the best quesadillas I have ever had. It was extremely flavorful and the shrimp in it were way bigger than what was expected. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Maryland. I've been here twice now and so far my only complaint is the service is super slow hopefully that improves the longer they are open. Since I am from Southern California I can be somewhat critical over the Mexican food I eat. A huge plus for me is they have shredded beef, that is almost a true sign to authentic Mexican food and hard to come by in Maryland. I tried the Flautas and street tacos everything so far has been delicious and the refried beans are amazing. I can't wait to try more things on the menu. Chips and salsa are ok. We have tried several dishes but the standouts are the cheese enchiladas and the chorizo taco, the latter is a special order.
