Delicious food and wonderful ambiance. We had the homemade guacamole which was wonderful, the Pork Verda tacos, excellent, and the enchiladas, very good. The best dish was the house chile rellano with egg batter. The best I've had in this area. We loved it. The service was OK. I liked that there is a runner that brings the food to the table right from the kitchen so everything is piping hot.

Quesadillas are delicious, and we loved the chicken and shrimp sauteed dish. The horchata is great too. Staff is friendly and helpful, even the manager was cheerful. Great surprize!

10/10!! The staff were very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server came over so quickly to greet us, we got chips and salsa right away after sitting down. Drinks came out great. Everything was great! It wasn't too loud, but busy. They have TVs by the bars. Will be coming back! The steak and shrimp fajitas were amazing, and could be shared. We will be going back!

This place is definitely a repeat contender when it comes to deciding where to go for Mexican food going forward. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat at a booth. I'd like to add the seats in the booth are very VERY comfy. You won't only enjoy the food but your bum will be comfy as well. The waitress brought complimentary salsa and fresh chips. I liked the fact the salsa came in a jar so we didn't have to wait for a refill. Typically, I go for a burrito or enchiladas; however the carne asada tacos called my taste buds and it did not disappoint. The entree comes with three corn tortillas filled with juicy perfectly cooked carne asad meat. It was accompanied by pico on the side. I ordered a side of sour cream, guacamole and cheese to jazz it up. I also topped it with a little salsa from the chips and salsa. The pictures say it all! Maybe they'll add this as the Athena Special. The Guadalajara Special was certainly a special treat of an entree. It was steak and chicken accompanied by rice, beans, pico and guacamole. The beans came with cheeses mixed in which added flavor to the already cooked beans itself. The meat was very tasty and had a blend of delicious seasonings seared into it. The restaurant was huge and family friendly. They also had a nice bar at the back with tv's around the restaurant to catch a sports game during happy hour. I didn't catch when the happy was but by the looks of the bar and glance at the drink menu; I wouldn't be surprised if it's a catch. The service was great. The waitress was patient with us; as it was our first visit. We enjoyed our time and will be back in the future.

They give you chips and salsa.

I came here for my birthday and was so disappointed. I was excited to enjoy authentic Mexican food and the tiktok my daughter showed me did a good sale. I drove an hour out of the way and first saw the food sitting out that looked kind of cold and dry. We chose to get the tacos and carnes asada and was informed by the waitress the prices are different from what was on the menu. I asked for a tequila drink and it had mostly ice and tasted more like water than anything. The tortillas were dry and cracked to the point we couldnt even eat with them. The only good thing was the decoration. The worst part was the huge guy in the front of the restaurant. When the bill returned much higher than three plates and a drink should cost, he refused to proved a itemized receipt and also refused to let us speak to the waitress. Luckily, she came by and resolved a least some of the discrepancies. He was rude and said there are many more customers and that we are one of many.

I also like that they have their daily specials posted on the wall. We tried the chicharrones de pollo (fried chicken bites) with an aioli sauce. We enjoyed those. I wanted chicharrones de panza (pork belly) but also wanted mofongo (mashed plantains) and requested if they had a mojo or garlic sauce to go with it. They were able to make the seafood mofongo, but replaced with the pork belly. I really enjoyed that, it came with a delicious garlicky sauce. My husband had the steak tacos, which he enjoyed. The service was great, our waitress was attentive and made good suggestions. But what really stood out was that the owner (Tony) stopped by our table and then Rosa (wife/co-owner) came over separately too. Both were really nice. We were talking about the business and coquito (Puerto Rican eggnog) and Rosa mentioned they made it for the holidays. She even brought me out a sample, which was very nice and really good. It was a nice touch to have both of the owners stop by our table to talk/check in on us. The restaurant was bigger than we expected, with a separate bar area. It's nice to know they have fun events at night and even live music. Will definitely be back and hope the business continues to do well.

But my recent experience was really disappointing. I came in for lunch around 12:30 PM on a Tuesday with five of my (teenage) friends. There were only a few other customers, but we weren't greeted when we walked in. Our waitress was nice, but she seemed rushed and overwhelmed for how empty it was. We waited about 20 minutes just to order appetizers, and even longer for the food. No one checked on us during the meal. When we finished, we had to ask for the check. We asked if it could be split six ways, and the waitress just said, "Figure it out," so we paid in cash. The total was $147, and we left $150 because that's what we had. On our way out, the owner stopped us and accused us of being disrespectful, which felt totally out of line considering the service we received. She was aggressive and made us very uncomfortable. I've never had an issue here before, but after that experience, I won't be coming back.

The food has been excellent on several visits, and the staff and regulars are real nice. On this visit (Jan 2026), I was just stopping in for a quick brew before a long evening. I've known some of the staff here, so I knew I'd be comfortable. The bar staff remembered my usual drink, which is always a welcoming feeling. I favor a tangy tequila drink as a great partner to the food, or any slightly-sweet cocktail or beer. They have a wide selection. And they remembered my favorite dish, which I've ordered here only once before! I love birria tacos, and they make a terrific recipe. It's tender slow-cooked shredded beef with rich savory flavors too complex to know all the ingredients. The beef picks up the sweet smokiness of mild peppers, perhaps chipotle, deeply-marinated for hours with herbs that i will guess as cumin, thyme, and others, and caramelized diced onion. It's loaded with some queso into a folded soft corn tortiila, which is soaked in the marinade, then pan or griddle-seared. Or maybe seared and then filled? Either way, it's a deeply-colorful hand-held like a super-flavorful super-juicy quesadilla. This birria-dilla is served with a dark reddish consommé of all the flavors of the beef and the marinade, for dipping and dousing and generally risking your clothing to splashes, spills, and wild abandon. Compadres also served me freshly fried thin very-lightly-spiced tortilla chips with a zingy fresh chunky red salsa, and i realized that, without thinking, i was dipping the chips in that luscious consommé more than the salsa! I enjoy the food and the relaxed ambiance of this little place. They recently added a lovely terrifically-detailed mural by a local artist of a pueblo magico, a village of delicious food and good compadres. You know those friends who you always seem to visit at meal-time for a taste of whatever is simmering? These Compadres are those compadres.
