I'm a regular here. Is it a little greasy and a bit more salty? Yes, yes, but completely worth it. I recommend: burritos, nachos with meat (steak is best but with ground beef you get so much food you can feed two and feel very full or feed three), and tamales. Usually save the tamales for the next day and fill up on nachos. I've never even attempted the burrito AND anything else, that's just crazy. Excellent prices for the amount of food. Only thing I would skip is quesadillas. Drive thru may take a few minutes (or 20, no complaints because that means it's fresh), but after a long day when I'm exhausted and hangry it's worth every minute and every calorie. read more

This place definitely follows mom & pop spirit. The menu options are just a suggestion and everything is customizable as you like. The food itself is delicious, fresh and reasonably priced ($7.5 for a big burrito & chips is a steal!). The most important thing is they prepare literally everything from scratch: from burrito wraps to all sauces. All of these are authentic, which is probably why you will see a lot of Mexican people eating here - that speaks for itself :) Staff at the place is incredibly friendly and helpful for newcomers not all that familiar with Mexican food. I've been coming here for years and these past few months have been the worst. I haven't stepped foot in this restaurant for about 2 weeks because the food isn't the same anymore. I dont know if they have new cooks or the cooks they have don't enjoy their jobs anymore. I asked for 4 tacos de TRIPA and for them to make it ( DORADA - meaning MAKE IT CRISPY) and I got It soggy. I asked them when I ordered , I asked them again nicely when I paid in the drive-through window as a friendly reminder and the lady assured me that we will be extra crispy. When I get home and ready to eat after a long day of work and I open up the bag... excited to eat... and come to find my tacos aren't cook properly, they taste disgusting. I also ordered rice and a burrito for my husband , the rice was hard ,the quality of the burrito wasn't it. Both my husband and I are very disappointed. I also have family members that I recommend to go here.. they come back and tell me that things aren't the same anymore , that the food is disgusting.I am very disappointed because I have been coming here all my life ! I even supported this restaurant when COVID hit . I hope the owners acknowledge what's going on and do something about the situation . Upon walking into this location I was a little bit skeptical on entering. The place wasn't so modern and lovely like other places these days, you could clearly tell it was sort of old and that...BUT never judge a book by a cover. Often things aren't as good on the outside as they are on the inside. Upon walking inside I smelt the nice aroma of the authentic Mexican food cooking upon the grill. There were quite a few people in there so i knew this couldn't disappoint. Looking at the menu I saw endless options. Upon inspecting the menu I decided to go with a chicken burrito and a bowl of rice. The sweet girl took my order and she told us the wait, as we were waiting there was nice entertainment. They had the MLS playing on the screen and I love my football so I wasn't complaining. It was nice to seem them prepare the food FRESH of the grill and throw everything together...what more can you ask. After about 5-10 mins I receive my nicely packaged bag of goods. I was SO EXCITED! I unwrapped the burrito and I took the first bite and I felt like I was in a dream. The flavors that hit my mouth were showing so much love, I heard all the rice, chicken, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes sing in harmony as they hit my taste buds. They included the mild salsa on the side which when layered on top of the burrito made for an even better experience giving the burrito a little kick and I was so delighted. After the burrito I went down on the rice and the flavors that came about made me fall in love and I couldn't be any more fulfilled. We happened upon this place because we were searching for ANY food open past 10pm on a Friday night- apparently that's much harder than anticipated. So awesome that we did tho, because it was fantastic! The red salsa was just hot enough to keep you eating more, and my beans were amazing. The Chile verde sauce made my friend start sweating but he couldn't stop because it tasted so good. This place was a real lucky find. Definitely check it out. read more

I was doing a Door Dash pickup. I was in the process of matching the order on the ticket and order screen, it should have totaled $83 and they had the total at $65 (it wasn't not even close). I politely asked them to make the missing food from the order. They were extremely rude and one person (presumably the manager) just kept saying that he doesn't have this issue with Uber Eats. I love the food, but service needs improvement. I'm a strict vegetarian, I ordered meals for my family via drive through, it's quite hard to hear and be heard through the machine so I made sure to relay those notes when I got up front as well. Drove home only to find my family members meal to have meat in it. It's disappointing to come home and have one of your family members left with nothing to eat. Gave them another shot and explained what happened last time and the gentleman was being so dismissive and cut me off and rushed me to the pickup spot for yet another time to have my order messed up. I loved this place but the risk of getting the wrong order is not worth it when the staff isn't willing to listen. read more

This review is about the management, not the food. I highly recommend the Los in Lisle, they are wonderful! Don't go to this location if you have the choice. I was in a few months ago and was charged twice for my order. It was the casher's first day so I was patient while he rang me up and took my card for payment. He tried the card a couple times and said it didn't go through for whatever reason. I didn't think much of it as I gave him a different card to try. He the second card ran through after he tried a couple times. I check my bank statement a couple days later and there is a charge from Los on both accounts. That evening I went back to the shop and they told me they couldn't help me and that I would have to come back when the manager was in. I got this same story several more times before the manager would finally talk to me. All of this was annoying but the problem occurred when I showed the manager both transactions he told me it wasn't showing up in his system and would neither refund my money, nor comp the food I was buying that night. I spent over a half hour going over everything for $16... not a big deal until he refused to do anything about the problem. Horrible customer service, no acknowledgement they made a mistake, and they charged me twice. read more

Worst burrito I've ever purchased! I would have rather a had frozen burrito from the grocery store. I did have wonderful steak burrito a few weeks back and I was looking forward to trying a chicken TEX-MEX burrito with fajita veggies. When I ordered I chose grilled chicken and the lady taking my order didn't say that they don't grill their chicken. I got my huge flavorless burrito and the peppers and onions that were to be the hit of this burrito weren't even cooked enough to be fajita veggies. They were plain and had no taste whatsoever! I thought fajita seasoning goes on onions and peppers when cooking them, but I guess not. We love the people that work here and service! Everyone is so nice and welcoming! Unfortunately the owners recently made some changes to the food to save a buck that are affecting the quality and taste. For example, they changes the fries that come with the Milanesa, the Carne asada that use to be my favorite is no longer good. It use to be so tender, so juicy and delicious. This last time tough and chewy. Even the chile rellenos are not the same. When you sacrifice quality for the mighty dollar you will lose good customers. This place is amazing. Number 1 - the food is outstanding. I have always been a fan of Mexican food and, therefore, am pretty hard to impress when it comes to this type of cuisine. From the first bite of tortilla chips to the last bite of my steak burrito (with refried beans and rice on the side) I was in food heaven. Number 2 - the staff was super nice. This establishment isn't located far from my home & I've been previously- never had an issue. Tonight, I experienced the rudest woman at the drive-through. Their sign was not lit & after not having anyone say anything through the speaker, I drove up. I explained to the woman what happened and asked if she could take my order. She said "no". I asked if they were closed, she said "no, we're open until 10". I asked her if she was serious, and she said "I can't understand you." Coming from the Bay Area, I know my tacos and taco plates are the best. This place has a good one served with rice and beans and a basket of chips with salsa. I knew I had hit the jackpot when I walked in around noon on a weekday and the place was packed. The line was probably 15 people deep and I was a little nervous that it was too crowded for me to be able to get a table. Luckily, this was a quick eating lunch crowd that had started to empty out of the place by the time I placed my order. I been going to this place for over 10 years easy so as of of june21 2021 I will never step in this place again.I ordered for 4 tacos and a side of beans when I get home I open two tacos literally basically no meat on them. From time to time I do enjoy a delicious giant burrito suizo. Los Burritos Tapatios is well known in the Chicago land area and is popular among Teens and adults. This is the first time I visited this location on ogden in Naperville. I have visited the location in Downers Grove also on Ogden Ave East from 1232 West Ogden Ave however this location was very disappointing. As you can see from my picture the Giant burrito Suizo is 1 quarter smaller than usual for the same price as other locations. When Customer's visit a restaurant chain that they have been visiting for years, I believe your order should be consistent. I was very disappointed with my order and will not be returning. read more

My roommate turned me on to this Mexican restaurant. I've seen the restaurants scattered all along Ogden Avenue but I've never been to one. When my roommate told me it was a great place, I was skeptical. I'm always skeptical when a white person raves about a Mexican restaurant because they usually don't know what they are talking about. That includes me too. I don't even trust myself to know what a good Mexican place is and my partner (who is Mexican) has made me question everything I know. But this time was shockingly different. I tried the place with my roommate first to test the waters before I recommended it to my partner. The inside of the restaurant isn't anything to brag about, but it felt welcoming and the workers were very nice. The prices were all reasonable and slightly cheaper than what you'd usually find in Chicago.I got a ground beef burrito suizo with guacamole. I also got the salsa verde and red salsa on the side. I brought it home, opened the bag up, and was met with a generously sized, delicious looking burrito. It was covered in melted cheese, so they don't skimp. I took a bite and was very impressed with the flavor. The ground beef had a very bold flavor, the lettuce and tomatoes were very fresh. To be fair I couldn't taste a lot of different flavors through the beef, so I'm not sure if the added guac was worth it, but it still tasted excellent. The ingredients were well proportioned. One of the best parts is that both versions of their salsas are great. I didn't find them too spicy, but they added a great flavor to the burrito and I had wished I had more because I went through it quickly. I brought my partner there a while after. He was skeptical, like usual, but gave it a try. Turns out he loves the place. He said it was the closest to how he had Mexican food growing up. He got the ground beef burrito and loved it. On my return trip I got the chicken burrito and a chorizo taco. The taco was honestly my favorite chorizo taco I've had. The meat wasn't overly salty like a lot of other places seem to make it. The chicken burrito had massive amounts of chicken in it with an enjoyable charred taste from the grill. I could taste the guac a little better in this burrito, but again it's still a little lacking. Overall I think this place is a must try for any fan of Mexican food. It's cheap, tasty, and they have a decent menu. Just to warn you though, you might be spending a decent amount of time on the toilet the day after. But it's worth it! read more

Again the completely wrong order. My hands were all over the food because I was checking it. Boyfriend goes inside and says this isn't our food and the tacos are steak instead of beef. The person grabs the bag and gives it to the *correct* person in the window. The persons gone before the worker could even hear how we touched this other persons food. Okay so I'm a super real mexican that was raised on huevos rancheros, fried beans, home-made tortiiiillas, I mean it was like an every meal was cooked for me, everday. So my boyfriend decides he wants me to try it, but he gets scared cuz I'm a real Mexican. ha. So we don't try it for like 6 months. Well, last night I had a long day of dance in the city, and I was coming home SUPER late, like 10pm.. I mean I hadn't eaten since breakfast and only had 2 hardboiled eggs and protein shake for lunch cuz dance-diet blah blah blah..(my body loves me for it though). I mean here I was starving, you could see my ribs!, when I was like, 'hey, lets just do it cuz I'm hungry', so we do. I get myself a ground beef burrito, and a quesadilla cuz why not. My other half got a chicken burrito and a chorizo taco. I tried his burrito. Well, my food was FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC, pardon my french, but don't cuz it was that good! Tapatio's is a stable of the NW suburbs when it comes to Mexican food. Everybody in Chicago has their opinions about what place sucks and what place isn't authentic and a bunch of other crap that you shouldn't have to hear. Tapatio's is for those of us who want great food in the suburbs and don't care to listen to a bunch of drabble from disgruntled city folk who think they're much cooler than they really are. Their steak tacos are what I live by...that's what I will always recommend. Something about their steak is just spot on. Chicken is great too and even their veggie tacos are delicious when you're not feeling like meat (which is rare for me but I know how it goes for some people). A burrito suizo will also hit the spot sometimes if I'm in the mood to hate myself for an entire 12 hour period of time. For those of you who don't know, that's a big burrito completely covered in melted cheese and it's one of the greasiest things ever. Tapatio's never fails me. I absolutely love the place.
