Located right across the bridge from the oceanside stores, we were able to grab a table with an ocean view without issue. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Nacho fries with carne asada was my choice today. Pretty basic here, tomato, guac, cheese, sour cream, fries and a small diced up steak. The meat tasted more like Sirloin instead of classic marinated rancherra carne asada. On the brightside, they appeared to use real cheese and not nachos cheese. read more

A solid 4 stars. Note if you will, the Mazatlan in Depoe Bay has no connection to the Mazatlan in Newport....thank goodness! Mazatlan In Depoe Bay, had an attentive waitress who filled water glasses when they needed filling. Usually when half full. No, she wasn't bored. There were only 2 empty tables at lunch time. She also noticed the chip basket was getting low before bringing our food. Know what she did? She came out with a re-fill of chips without even asking! How cool is that? The waiter was friendly, offered the bean and meat type options, and we received our meal within 10 minutes. Maybe we just got lucky? I have only been here twice before and both times...unlike the location in Newport...satisfied. The Mazataln in Newport has a hand-written note on their menu saying that they will charge money for 2nds on chips. And at 3:15 on a weekday afternoon somehow she felt we should have the dinner menu. Never again there. The food at Depoe Bay Mazatlan was tasty. I mean nothing special for a combination dinner, but I have had much worse. Taco, Enchilada, rice and beans...lunch iirc, $13. Also, another benefit, most tables have a great view of the Depoe Bay harbor and ocean. We will be back. read more

The food was not fresh, and the oil seemed rancid that my tamale was cooked in. The tamale was like none I'd ever had and thick and hard and flat. Had some problems with digestion following the meal, most likely due to the lack of freshness in the oil. read more

This is found on the main road of Depoe Bay. We found out it's a chain restaurant afterwards. There was no wait time to be seated. I ordered the seafood chimichanga and the plates and portions are giant! I really enjoyed my food. My husband ordered nacho asada fries and he wasn't impressed. We ordered takeout, and the food was ready right at the designated time -- very convenient. The highlight was definitely the flan, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Missed opportunities. A well made Cadilac Margarita & was not asked if I wanted a second one. Seafood Chimichanga was very tasty full of seafood excellent. Second visit I had a stuffed Beef Burrito & Enchilada both excellent & meaty. The house margarita was excellent you can taste the tequila, I had to ask for a second one. I would have to say I have been to many a Mexican restaurant and this one was one of the worst for flavorful food. The waitstaff were inattentive and it wasn't like it was very busy. One of the other staff had to come over and ask about our order to make sure it was put in correctly and it wasn't not. We will not be back! read more

A place doesn't have to be big for it to be good. If you are looking for cool decors and some gimmicks then this ain't your place. But if you are looking for amazing food, really good margaritas and exceptional service then this is your place. I felt like i was transported to my Mexican friends house and was the guest of honor. Good Mexican food with great views of Depoe Bay. I ordered a combination plate- 1 shredded beef taco, one cheese enchilada and 1 chicken tamal, with beans and rice. Being from Southern California, I am VERY particular about Mexican food. This was a good, not great, but pretty good find in the Pacific Northwest! Everything was good- the shredded beef was AWESOME! Great flavour- I will be ordering anything on the bell with that beef! The beef was 5* but I'm giving the restaurant 4* bc There should have been more sauce on and more cheese inside of the enchilada, the masa on the tamale was a bit weak, and they use store bought hard tortilla shells rather than frying their own. The place is pretty inside- beautiful murals all over- it feels a bit dated, but is pretty, with a homey charm to it- and all is clean, just been used for a while. They have at least 2 locations, so next time I will try the one in Newport and see how it compares- I'm sure it can't beat the views of the bay! I am from Maryland and we hit this spot after our whale watching tour, so happy we stopped in. We visit Mazatlan whenever we're in Depoe Bay -- usually after 2 or 3 days when we need a break from seafood. Lots of good, authentic entrées; efficient, friendly service,l; clean, festive surroundings. Most booths have a clear view of the ocean. We'll be back again, I'm sure. read more

Great service and delicious food. If you get the fish it's fried whole. Our teenage son ordered this was surprised but he enjoyed it. I had a taste it was good. We had tacos, burrito and chicken enchiladas green sauce and add the pico and salad on top it's yum yum. All of our kids ate their food. All were yummy. Sorry no pics we dug in as soon as it hit the table. Not much for left overs. Great customer service didn't get our servers name but he was on top of everything. Older gentlemen. Good service, good food, excellent salsa. Whereas I normally gravitate to chowder at the coast (I know, completely unoriginal), we had a hankering for Mexican food, so here we are. She stuck with a plain bean burrito (a callback to her youth), I went with three enchiladas (2 chicken, 1 beef), and we had some queso with the chips. We always eat here when we come to Depoe Bay. The chips are a ways warm and delicious. The retried beans are the best I've ever had. Very well priced and huge servings. The staff are really great too, very attentive and friendly. read more
