This place is like a food truck kinda vibe. We walked up and the guy was on a personal call for about 6 mins while we waited for him to put in our order. I heard and understood the whole conversation which is how I know it was personal and super unprofessional towards us and the people on line behind us. The meats had good flavor but it came out barely warm. As you can see in the pics, about 4 oz of low quality shredded cheese was added to top them off. I would've preferred it all heated up with melted cheese. Not a good experience so I'd steer clear of this place. There's so many other options in the area (like Burger Kind next door).

GET HERE NOW!!!! 500/10. Open 24/7 I ordered the Cachapa Pabellón and added avocado. Absolutely amazing. The meat was so tender, plátano was sweet and savory, the cheese was melted just right, and I've never had a cachapa that good. The Cachapa is grilled perfectly, nice char, sweet, firm yet falls apart. The white and green sauces are very good together and separate. The flavors over everything combined go crazy. Customer service was excellent, very helpful, explained everything, answered all my questions. A walk-up spot, real homey and inviting vibe. Parking is very limited

We stopped by here this morning on a whim and bought 6 freshly made empanadillas: 3 beef and cheese, 1 beef, 1 pabellón and 1 cheese. All of these empanadillas came with two little sauces and all of them were outstanding! Out of all the empanadillas I've eaten in Puerto Rico during my trip, these were the best, by far & my favorite! The guy who served us was very friendly and spoke fluent English, as well. The whole Puerto Rican vibe here is amazing. I love that it's a convenient little hut next to a gas station. There's even a little bar beside the food and table full of hot sauce varieties to choose from! Now, my only regret is that I didn't come here more often during my stay because we fly out this afternoon.

The food was cold! The arepa outside was cold! The chicken was pink a didn't eat ir because I think it should be white! The cachapa was ok! But the reina peliada was the worse arepa that I tried in my life!! And i love arepas! Go somewhere else for arepas

Absolutely the best arepa I've had (may have been my first time if I'm being honest lol but STILL)! It was AMAZING. We actually weren't planning on going here for dinner but I saw it was a 24hr spot and the lights intrigued me when driving past so we added it to the list for on the way back. When we came back you pull into a parking lot that is shared with papa johns so it's fairly small. You have the option of carryout or if it's not busy and you can find a table outside you can eat there. It's a small shop but food sure does seem made with love and passion. The arepa itself was warm and soft. The chicken... wow... i NEVER get chicken when it comes to latin food cause it's never to my liking and never hits the way good steak does, but let me tell you - this chicken was juicy, shredded, flavorful, 10/10! Now lastly they LOADED it with cheese and THAT I ADORE okay.. i love me some cheese. Their green sauce is real tasty i think it was a sofrito sauce but could be wrong.

I remember coming to this place often when they opened many years ago. Back then they had the most authentic Venezuelan food in the area with only a few items on the menu like the arepas, the cachapas and the tequeños. Now the menu has all sort of different items like 'patacones rellenos', which is stuffed Puerto Rican "tostones", turnovers of all kinds and stuffed avocados. I came back the other day to indulged in their cachapas with queso de mano and chicken, it has always been my favorite item besides the tequeños, which are succulent. To my surprise it was exactly as amazing as I remembered. Perfect combination of flavors between the sweet corn kernel and the saltiness of the cheese. I also ordered a 'pionono' turnover that had sweet plantain and ground beef inside, delicious. Don't mind if you have to wait a little bit because everything is made to order, super fresh and steamy hot. They also have all sort of mild/hot sauces to try. They also have a variety of natural juices and drinks. Los Chamos Arepas is a gem for those craving authentic Venezuelan food!

Omg I always bypass this place for whatever reason but I finally stopped here the other day and got an Arepa Vegana (black beans, sweet plantain, and avocado). It was so good. The arepa was fluffy and airy and the variety of hot sauces did it just right. I will def keep this place in mind. It's also 24 hrs and pretty much JUMPIN at night so don't come here rushing. The drinks are great too.

Doesn't look like much when you're walking past, but the food and staff were amazing. We were so hungry after walking around Condado looking for arepas that we forgot to take pictures before munching on them and who wants pics of half eaten arepas? I did manage to take a picture of the bottle of pique that we were obsessed with though so there's that! My favorite was definitely the shrimp!

I'm Venezuelan and I came from NYC for my birthday, so I really wanted Venezuelan food. 1. The service is HORRIBLE! They don't pay attention of people waiting at the bar, the take hours to take the order, then another hour to pay. 2. LONG WAIT! I waited for 2 arepas and 1 cachapa MORE THAN A HOUR! 3. The cachapa was really bad. Not the right texture, weird cheese, also crispy. Cachapas are NOT crispy. I would never go back. Neither más Puertorican friends. read more

The arepas taste good, not great. Their meat is a bit greasy for my taste. Prices are cheap and they open when they want. Also is right on the street so I don't think it's a good idea to go with kids. read more

I just had the best food ever. Just got in to Puerto Rico. This stand is a couple minute walk from the hotel. The staff is friendly. Great value. Got a big meal for $8. Chicken with black beans plantains cheese and maybe some type of grits. Im so full. I ate every bite. Go check it out!!! read more

In Puerto Rico, This was the first time I had ever had Venezuelan food. The Arepas we had were excellent, the prices and the portions were half as much as the other places we went, so they were just right and we did not overeat too much. The green sauce (cilantro) and white sauces were perfect with the food, no need to put hot sauce on and ruin the taste. I had the beef and chicken mixed and my wife had the beef and plantain. We had one order of chicken and beef Empanadas too, a bottled water and 2 beers for $28 read more

Delicious arepas! We had a bit of difficulty finding Los Champs Arepas because they don't currently have a sign and are located in a parking lot between a gas station and a pizza place but the search was worth it. The menu listed numerous types of arepas but they were out of everything except ground meat and chicken when we went. We weren't disappointed, the arepas were huge and tasty. They had numerous hot sauces to try on top as well as a mild green sauce that tasted of cilantro and cumin but was a bit of a mystery. This arepa stand served some of the best food we had in Puerto Rico. Seating is limited and it is no frills but the food is worth the trip. read more

These little magical creations are so damn delicious. I ordered the "combinicion" and it came out in 7 min and was perfect. I wanted to order a 2nd but the wife stopped me. I did get to order an equally delicious and fresh mango-pina smoothie. Highly recommend this spot and don't hold back. Get two. read more

We are staying at an Airbnb down the street from Los Chamos and after reading so many good reviews decided to try it out. The arepas were delicious but we waited an hour which is far too long. Customers who arrived after us were served before us. It wasn't until we asked that we realized that our order was completely forgotten. Finally they appeared but the woman behind the counter rang in others ahead of us even then. I'd give the food 4.5 stars because it was delicious, but the service just wasn't good. read more

Outstanding late night food spot within walking distance from our hotel El San Juan. We arrived late at night and needed to grab a bite so this was perfect. Arepas and cachapas were both excellent and a lot of food. Authentic outdoor grill and seating, typically you'd get from a food truck or stand. Great array of hot sauces to try, I recommend the green jalapeño one from PR. Will definitely recommend this spot! read more

Ridiculously good. We ended up here after a looooong day volunteering with cleanup efforts at a local farm and this was JUST what we needed. Friendly service and the arepas were SO tasty. We got 3 for the 2 of us but really 2 would have been plenty. Fresh flavors, delectable arepa bread, and the garlic sauce you can add on is epic! Super cheap to boot! My only regret was that we discovered it so late in our trip that we weren't able to return! read more

Delicious Arepas. I ordered a ham and cheese and the Reina Chicken w avocado. Both were yummy. My 3yo ate the ham and cheese. Friendly employees and a very casual food shack type place. Affordable satisfying meal. I look forward to trying more another day. Oh don't forget to ask for the garlic and cilantro sauces! read more

Tried this place during our trip to Puerto Rico. The arepas were one of the best I've ever tried. It's a little kiosk in Isla Verde. It was a little difficult to order since their menu sign was hidden in the back. I asked and the guy held it up for 30 seconds and we ordered kind of in a rush. They should have some menus available to look at. So service isn't the best, but the food is definitely great. Just quick bites. read more

I really don't care how good your food might be, when your services is this bad you get a one star for me. We arrived at this joint and ordered drinks over the counter and got them fairly quickly. Our food eventually came out one plate at a time spread over about an hour and a half. My daughter had to wait over one hour for her chicken and cheese arepa. It wasn't like she was ordering some kind of special dish. There were three sets of customers who came way after us, had their food, finished eating their food and left before my daughter got hers! I am a big tipper, it's what I do, I tipped the server $10 when I ordered the original two beers & soda over the counter. It was only after about an hour when I complained about the extremely slow service that my eight-year-old daughter finally got her cheese & chicken arepa more than a hour after we ordered it. The restaurant was not busy, if you've been there before you know that everybody sits outside and they were many open chairs. I've read other reviews on this restaurant and it seems to be the same complaint, if you have a white skin and from America mainland you get terrible service. Well guess what you, will not see my money again. Your service and your servers attitude sucks! read more

Ohhhhhh, I am so disappointed. Cute place, but I had to take one star off for the slow service. Very friendly but it took ages. Took off another star because the black beans were full of grit. And a final star because the arepa dough was super tough and had no flavor. read more

Yuuuumy! Everything is good here! It's a small food truck on the way to isla verde beach. A perfect stop! I got the seafood arepa and it did not disappoint! One is big enough to to fill you but they are so go you could totally go for another! The homemade sauces are amazing I wanted to take it home with me! Ask for the fruit shakes too! The service was pretty quick for island time but it was also good timing on our part. Highly recommended! read more

The ambiance was not great either since everyone around us was visibly frustrated by the wait times and lack of service, a table across flagged the waitress multiple times to ask where their stuff was. The food was decent, but again, cold. The wait times were no joke. We wrapped up our 7:45 dinner around 10, simply because of how long it took to be served. Our waitress came to our table maybe 3 times total, we would have to stand and find her to figure out where our food/drinks were. They were also out of a good majority of items on the menu when we tried to order them. Overall I unfortunately don't recommend! Price, service, and food are not great.

After a long and tiring flight, our stomachs grumbled as we waited at baggage claim in Puerto Rico's San Juan airport. It was already past midnight, but hunger gnawed at us, and we were determined to find a satisfying meal before heading to our Airbnb. After a quick search online, Los Chamos Arepas caught our attention with their 24/7 hours of operation. We ventured out into the rainy night, eager to satisfy our cravings. Despite the late hour, Los Chamos was bustling with activity. We received a slightly curt welcome from the cashier, who seemed more concerned with our late-night intrusion than our desire for food. However, we decided to overlook the attitude and focus on the menu. Since it was so late, many items were already sold out, but we managed to order a few remaining favorites: sweet plantains topped with melted queso, a beef and cheese empanadilla, and a beef and cheese arepa. The plantains were perfectly ripe and caramelized, the empanadilla was crispy and flavorful, and the arepa was soft and fluffy. Each bite was a burst of Venezuelan goodness, transporting us away from the airport's hustle and bustle. While the outdoor ambience might have been more enjoyable for drinks at an earlier hour, the cozy indoor seating provided a welcome respite from the pouring rain. The service was prompt and efficient, considering the late hour and the influx of customers.
