Musa did not live up to its expectations. When we arrived, a few minutes before our reservation, we waited for 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Our table had been ready & set yet we continued to wait while the host(s) were on their phone. Our waitress was very nice, however the experience is not on par with the ambiance and overall vibe that the establishment is trying to accomplish. I ordered the caesar salad appetizer which was very tasty: the dressing and lettuce were both so fresh. The dumpling appetizer was very tasty - the Asian inspired sauce with the plantains were a nice touch. The ribs did not meet expectations- the sauce tasted exactly like the dumplings and we did not taste the guava at all. The gnocchi sauce was good, a creamy white truffle sauce, but the gnocchi themselves were harder than al dente... Overall it was a very mellow vibe, the food was alright.
We came right when the place opened at 10am & I'm so glad we did! We experienced wonderful service & the food was delicious! You can tell they really take their time with their menu. Everything we ordered was great including the drinks. The ambiance was nice, too, & it did get busy while we were there.
Absolutely loved Musa! Have to give a shout out to our wonderful waiter Tomas, he was awesome. This place was a little hidden from where we parked, but they had their own parking close by. We came in for a late dinner and this place was pretty empty, but we did not let this draw us away. The food here was delicious! We had the dumplings de churrasco, empandaillas bistec, camarones al coco, and asaragus. Loved the Puerto Rican twist to the dumplings, literally hadn't tried anything like it before! The camarones de coco were to drool over! The empanadillas were savory. Honestly can't go wrong with anything at this place. It's dimly lit with fun funky aesthetic that makes this place so cool. I'll definitely come back to try a brunch whenever I visit San Juan again!
"No más!" If i wanted to create a caricature of a pretentious version of a Puerto Rican restaurant, this would be it. You'd have better luck walking blindfold down the streets of Old San Juan and walking in anywhere for a better meal What's to jeer - Overpriced - Every dish is either too salty or too sweet/creamy - The "risotto" is so bad, the death penalty in Italy would be extracted for producing this - Service looks labored and understaffed - Do not order the "chewy" tuna tartare, the bland Caesar salad, the cement like Mac and cheese, or the bucatini, or the tostones which are greasy than the godfathers hair - Terrible wine that was corked What's to cheer - Decent spicy margarita cocktail - Bacalao (but it's fresh cod not salted cod)
Came in for lunch after our flight into Puerto Rico. The place is welcoming and the staff was great. Very knowledgeable and attentive. However the food I ordered was not what I expected. I got the NY Strip steak and eggs and my girl got the chicken and waffles. Her plate was great. However I asked mine to be medium rare. It came out seared on the outside and cold and blue on the inside. Had to send it back to be cooked a bit more. It was a bit better but still was disappointed in how it came out. This isn't a knock on the staff at all cause our waitress was great. But my plate wasn't great.
Came here straight from the airport at 10am on time for brunch & bottomless mimosa! ($25 pp) Service was excellent. The waitress, Neyletzi, was amazing and attentive. The food was very delicious and large portions! The appetizer we shared, fried cheese, was not worth it. However, everything was amazing! Definitely a place to brunch!
mostly had a good time here. the food was pretty good, although sometimes the flavors were too salty/sweet (especially for the cakes). the lava cake wasn't really a lava cake and the pork belly is not worth it (they gave ~6 tiny pieces). other than that it was good. the server was REALLY nice and it was dim and nice inside.

Amazing! The whole experience from beginning to end was great! The cocktails are delicious and the food was out of this world. Perfect date night restaurant. I recommend making a reservation online before heading there since the restaurant does get busy. We'll visit again next time we are in PR. Thank you! read more

We found this spot online and were sooo excited to give it a try. After our experience, I'm guessing that they are paying for reviews or positively review bombing themselves, because the experience here is genuinely so horrible (and everyone around us felt the same way) that these reviews do not accurately reflect the restaurant at all. We sat down for dinner at 7:45 and did not receive our drinks until 8:20, even though we put in our order as soon as we sat down... and asked politely how much longer until our drinks would come out... twice. Food did not come out for an hour and half, it was cold by the time we got it. Mac and cheese is not great cold. The ribs are extremely overcooked and like eating beef jerky. Drinks were okay, but by the time we got them everyone's cocktails were watered down, as well as the soft drinks. The ambiance was not great either since everyone around us was visibly frustrated by the wait times and lack of service, a table across flagged the waitress multiple times to ask where their stuff was. The food was decent, but again, cold. The wait times were no joke. We wrapped up our 7:45 dinner around 10, simply because of how long it took to be served. Our waitress came to our table maybe 3 times total, we would have to stand and find her to figure out where our food/drinks were. They were also out of a good majority of items on the menu when we tried to order them. Overall I unfortunately don't recommend! Price, service, and food are not great. read more

Really great flavors! Drinks were excellent! The croquettes were amazing and so was the cheese and guava. The restaurant was nice but for the prices I could expect a little more like table cloth and free water. read more

Saw the ropa vieja mac & cheese on the menu and knew I just had to try them out & I do not regret it one bit. I recommend making a reservation as the place fills up for dinner time. The tostones were nice and crispy & had garlic on them for a little extra flavor. read more

Service was great. The food was amazing and portion size was very large. I was able to take half of it to go because I was so full. The water they serve there is also really crisp and makes you want more. read more

If you are ever in San Juan... please do yourself a favor and go check this place out for brunch! Making a reservation is a must. The place is small and cozy but the vibes are everything. The food was to die for, the amount and the taste! read more
I can not speak highly enough about this restaurant! Their decor and vibe are just so inviting, hip, and fun! But their MENU?! Unreal. I can only hope they open other locations so more people can experience their food!! They have such an eclectic and diverse menu. They put things together that most people wouldn't even think of. And, WOW, it's all soooo good! Their fresh juices are fantastic. Every single thing we ordered was amazing, so it's hard to just list certain menu items, but their French toast has me literally dreaminggg about going back. You cannot go wrong here! Absolutely must-try! The street it's on is a bit tight and parking can be harder but there's also a paid parking lot just passed the restaurant. It can get busy, so a wait time is to be expected, but it's truly worth the wait. Next time I'm in PR, best believe I'm stopping here MORE THAN ONCE! read more

Every meal we've had PR has been amazing but brunch at Musa today was next-level. We had: cafe con leche, risotto w pork belly and longaniza, guava ribs w tostones and chaufa, brûlée pancakes, and a cachapa de ropa vieja. Not a bad dish among them and I would absolutely order all of them again. Standouts: Guava ribs - the guava in the sauce added some real depth of flavor and a different profile than your typical vinegar-based BBQ sauce Brûlée pancakes were basically a super decadent dessert. The pancakes were topped with crème brûlée and the caramelized sugar covered the whole pancake The cachapa was the star of our brunch - absolutely revelatory, and I give it my highest recommendation! A cachapa is basically a Venezuelan crepe. This one was filled with delicious ropa vieja and mozzarella. The maduros added a bit of sweetness and the cachapa was surrounded by black beans and a creamy bechamel, and topped with bacon and eggs. So so good! Service was excellent too! read more

Location & Atmosphere Located in the art-inspired district of San Juan, MUSA offers a stylish and modern setting with a contemporary art vibe. The space is clean, bright, and creatively designed--definitely a reflection of the artistic energy in the area. It's a great spot for brunch if you appreciate a visually inspiring backdrop. Food & Drinks We came for brunch, and the portions did not disappoint. My friend ordered the crème brûlée pancakes, which were indulgent and beautifully presented. I went with the Mongolian hashbrowns, and they were packed with flavor and a generous amount of toppings. The food was rich, satisfying, and clearly crafted with attention to both flavor and presentation. Service & Hospitality Unfortunately, the service left a bit to be desired. Our server didn't mention the extended wait time--nearly 50 minutes--nor did they check in much throughout. While the food made up for some of the delay, the lack of communication and attentiveness was noticeable, especially since we had to rush to our next event. Unique Selling Point MUSA stands out for its bold, artistic setting and generously portioned, visually stunning brunch plates. While the service could use improvement, it's still a worthwhile stop for those who appreciate creativity on the plate and in the space around them. read more

We visited Musa for brunch and it was definitely SO worth it! If your from the states yes most restaurants in Puerto Rico the food takes longer to come out. I started with a kiwi mojito and WOW it was easily the best I've ever had! I got the steak and eggs. It came out perfectly the eggs were over easy and it comes with a side of arroz chaufa. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere. Large portions. The server was sweet and very helpful in helping make selections. I noticed a lot of people who ate here also liked to stay for hours and just hang out, eat, drink and socialize. You never felt rushed out the door. Chicken and waffles was spot on with the right combination of perfectly seasoned and breaded chicken with a hint of sweet waffles underneath. My pesto gnocchi was just cooked to perfection along with a medium rare salmon. I enjoyed it to the last bite. read more

We were really excited about this place, but unfortunately it wasn't worth all the hype! It takes a very long time to get your food order. We ordered kids pancakes, brûlée pancakes, Mac and cheese ropa vieja and steak and eggs. The Mac and cheese ropa vieja was pretty good, but you only get one spoonful of ropa vieja. The pancakes were too dense and were lacking flavor. Not worth the wait. read more

The positives-the chicken was very flavorful. The host and waitress were very nice. The waitress offered to have a portion of my overcooked food re-cooked. The negatives-the restaurant was very dark inside. Stark contrast to the vibrancy of San Juan. All of the curtains were closed making it even darker. Odd atmosphere for brunch. My daughter ordered chicken and waffles, but they don't allow you to order chicken and waffles without the cheese and ham already cooked on top. That was very disappointing because we don't eat ham, but my daughter was hopeful that she could scrape the cheese and ham off. Bad idea. I was looking forward to my Mongolian hashbrowns because I am a potato connoisseur. We waited over an hour for our meals. Very confusing, considering the premade chicken and waffles. My hashbrowns were so overcooked they were all dark and extra crunchy. Also odd considering how long we waited for our food. Since I ordered my eggs scrambled instead of sunny side up, I was charged an additional fee. One would think after waiting over an hour for overcooked food that had to be recooked, they would have waived the extra charge for the scrambled eggs. Nope. I wish we had our last meal in San Juan on the beach instead. read more
We were initially excited about this spot given the reviews. But warning, expect an extremely LONG wait for your food. Waited over 1 hour for all our dishes to come out. We understand food is not always fast on the island but 1 HOUR+ for a meal like fresh toast is not acceptable. Had to ask wait staff 2x that our food can come out whenever ready and we did not have to be served all at once. They explained the wait was due to a large party, but they could've given us a heads up if the food wait would be 1hr +, then we could've gone somewhere else even. Then, we weren't too impressed with the dishes. Mongolian Hash brown was overly salty and hash brown was burnt. Mallorca Benedict eggs were over cooked. We did not express this in the moment as simply wanted to eat and leave after waiting for so long. Please tell your customers ahead of time if the food wait could be long. Maybe your experience will be better. read more

It's hard to review this one, went on a Saturday night and food was extremely high level, and we were amazed with it. Went a few days later and was sub par, nothing special about it at all. We asked if they had a different Chef and were told no.... But not buying it. Maybe just need to go on a weekends when I have a high-level activity and therefore may be their best chef read more

Food was incredible. I got the ropa vieja omelette with a side of french toast. the meat was juicy and the omelette was filled to the brin with it. french toast was nice and sweet and paired perfectly with the savory omelette. in terms of service, my waiter was very nice but wasn't very attentive and the food took really long to get there. ambiance was nice and cute. overall would recommend read more
On our first visit I had the chicken and waffles. Super good! Place was tucked in a neighborhood yet easy to find. Good mix of local crown and a few tourists like myself who read the reviews. We returned this year on our trip to Puerto Rico and will continue to on each trip. This time I had the Mongolian chicken over hash browns. Wasn't sure what I was getting into but when it arrived at the table I was impressed. The hash browns were crisp all the way through and softened up as the Mongolians sauce soaked in. Topped with a sunny side up egg that tied it into breakfast. Real tasty and real filling! Stop on by if you are in the area you won't be disappointed read more
On my labor day weekend get away trip had the pleasure to visit the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, and I wanted to start celebrating my wife's birthday the right way so went to yelp and typed brunch and this place was one of the first ones on my list and I said why not, first of all I followed the gps address on yelp and it took me to the wrong street hopefully has been fixed by now, basically is one street over. Super friendly staff, got seated right away, order a good cup of joe to get the day started, We were not ready for the amount of food this folks served Us holy cow HUGE portions great quality and the flavor OMG. Amazing risotto cooked to perfection with fresh mushrooms, the Montecristo was A+ as well savory, and sweet they did not skimp on the pastrami at all, the fries were made just right, crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside . Would I go back to this establishment 1000%. read more
This is a really great establishment. I love the menu , it's a creative ,Puerto Rican Asian fusion menu. . I love the vision, very modern and very flavorful. The Bottomless brunch is definitely worth it, I just loved the variety of mimosa's. They have all the good Puerto Rican flavors. I love that our server randomly gave us different flavors, that's the best way to do it. The service was also incredible. She knew the menu and gave us great suggestions. The whole staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. I loved that a lot of the patrons were locals. If the locals are there, you know it's good food and good vibes. The energy and vibes were amazing. I love the art and decor, just classy and fun. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Food was okay. My mignon tips were very over cooked and I wound up sending them back. Everything has pork in it. Even the Caesar salad instead of croutons it has pork rind. Food took way too long to come out as well. I will say the bread pudding dessert was great. read more

Amazing food!! Cool ambiance. Although it took a long time for food to come out it was most definitely worth it. All plates are generous portions and perfect for sharing. We ordered multiple dishes for the table: - Pork Belly and Longaniza Risotto is a 10/10. Perfectly creamy and tasty -Guava Ribs fall off the bone- paired with plantains and chaufa rice. Also 10/10 - Salmon and pesto gnocchi- Salmon was perfectly cooked. - Tres Leche French toast and Blueberry Crème bule pancakes- massive portion, perfect to share as a dessert. -all mixed drinks were fabulous! read more
