This place is like a food truck kinda vibe. We walked up and the guy was on a personal call for about 6 mins while we waited for him to put in our order. I heard and understood the whole conversation which is how I know it was personal and super unprofessional towards us and the people on line behind us. The meats had good flavor but it came out barely warm. As you can see in the pics, about 4 oz of low quality shredded cheese was added to top them off. I would've preferred it all heated up with melted cheese. Not a good experience so I'd steer clear of this place. There's so many other options in the area (like Burger Kind next door).
GET HERE NOW!!!! 500/10. Open 24/7 I ordered the Cachapa Pabellón and added avocado. Absolutely amazing. The meat was so tender, plátano was sweet and savory, the cheese was melted just right, and I've never had a cachapa that good. The Cachapa is grilled perfectly, nice char, sweet, firm yet falls apart. The white and green sauces are very good together and separate. The flavors over everything combined go crazy. Customer service was excellent, very helpful, explained everything, answered all my questions. A walk-up spot, real homey and inviting vibe. Parking is very limited
We stopped by here this morning on a whim and bought 6 freshly made empanadillas: 3 beef and cheese, 1 beef, 1 pabellón and 1 cheese. All of these empanadillas came with two little sauces and all of them were outstanding! Out of all the empanadillas I've eaten in Puerto Rico during my trip, these were the best, by far & my favorite! The guy who served us was very friendly and spoke fluent English, as well. The whole Puerto Rican vibe here is amazing. I love that it's a convenient little hut next to a gas station. There's even a little bar beside the food and table full of hot sauce varieties to choose from! Now, my only regret is that I didn't come here more often during my stay because we fly out this afternoon.
Absolutely the best arepa I've had (may have been my first time if I'm being honest lol but STILL)! It was AMAZING. We actually weren't planning on going here for dinner but I saw it was a 24hr spot and the lights intrigued me when driving past so we added it to the list for on the way back. When we came back you pull into a parking lot that is shared with papa johns so it's fairly small. You have the option of carryout or if it's not busy and you can find a table outside you can eat there. It's a small shop but food sure does seem made with love and passion. The arepa itself was warm and soft. The chicken... wow... i NEVER get chicken when it comes to latin food cause it's never to my liking and never hits the way good steak does, but let me tell you - this chicken was juicy, shredded, flavorful, 10/10! Now lastly they LOADED it with cheese and THAT I ADORE okay.. i love me some cheese. Their green sauce is real tasty i think it was a sofrito sauce but could be wrong.
I remember coming to this place often when they opened many years ago. Back then they had the most authentic Venezuelan food in the area with only a few items on the menu like the arepas, the cachapas and the tequeños. Now the menu has all sort of different items like 'patacones rellenos', which is stuffed Puerto Rican "tostones", turnovers of all kinds and stuffed avocados. I came back the other day to indulged in their cachapas with queso de mano and chicken, it has always been my favorite item besides the tequeños, which are succulent. To my surprise it was exactly as amazing as I remembered. Perfect combination of flavors between the sweet corn kernel and the saltiness of the cheese. I also ordered a 'pionono' turnover that had sweet plantain and ground beef inside, delicious. Don't mind if you have to wait a little bit because everything is made to order, super fresh and steamy hot. They also have all sort of mild/hot sauces to try. They also have a variety of natural juices and drinks. Los Chamos Arepas is a gem for those craving authentic Venezuelan food!
Omg I always bypass this place for whatever reason but I finally stopped here the other day and got an Arepa Vegana (black beans, sweet plantain, and avocado). It was so good. The arepa was fluffy and airy and the variety of hot sauces did it just right. I will def keep this place in mind. It's also 24 hrs and pretty much JUMPIN at night so don't come here rushing. The drinks are great too.
Doesn't look like much when you're walking past, but the food and staff were amazing. We were so hungry after walking around Condado looking for arepas that we forgot to take pictures before munching on them and who wants pics of half eaten arepas? I did manage to take a picture of the bottle of pique that we were obsessed with though so there's that! My favorite was definitely the shrimp!
First time I stopped by. They weren't open on time. Came back a few days later in The afternoon and they were already cooking. I got the vegan option which was good. I also got the a drink which was good too.. one star down for the service at their other location closer to the 24 grocery store. The other spot in the middle of the strip had wayyyy better service. read more

I got a reina pepiada. Which is a chicken filled arepa, but they also had the classic ham and cheese filling. The Arepa was hot and cooked to perfection, which I would know since my moms from Venezuela, arepa country. The Girl that made my tasty coconut mojito drink was super nice to talk to. Outdoor covered standing area to eat. Good experience near the beach. read more
So came here in way to airport since we were done with our vacation , and was a little pissed off since literally half the menu was not available . No shredded beef , chicken , or any meat - so it really limited what you could order . No natural juices either - so in my eyes - why even stay open . Also the attendant was pretty rude - we kept ordering other things and her response was very rude , so didn't like that eithRegarding food : the food was pretty good ; really no complaints here other than not knowing which order was which . No writing on any of the orders - so you have to physically inspect every order to find your item . Would have given it 5 , but just got a 4 based on the above . read more

Located next to a Papa John's it would be SO easy to miss this place! But, be sure to stop. We had the BEST Arepas here. They were stuffed to the gills. We had shredded beef with avocado, shredded chicken with avocado, and cheese (w/o avocado). Super friendly staff, relaxing to sit outside with a Daiquiri and an arepa. Go here for sure. read more
What a pleasant surprise. While staying in Isla Verde, stopped by for lunch. Let me get one thing out of the way, they serve the coldest Medalla beer I have had. That aside, the arepas are delicious and filling. Since I went here several time over the course of my stay, I got to try different ones. My favorites are the ones with sweet plantains and cheese or sweet plantains and shrimp. I highly recommend this place. Consider calling ahead and be prepared to navigate through a very small and tricky parking lot. read more

Arepa with meat and cheese was very good. The shrimp items (I forget the name) not so much. But I learned from the locals that shrimp is not fresh around here. So skip on the shrimp. The staff are not very friendly, but I wasn't looking to make friends The Piña colada was good. read more

Small quaint spot on the strip. Food is excellent with a home cook feel. Ordered a margarita and it was nice and strong. Great customer service as well. Not a lot of seating but that's ok. read more

Food was good but sercice was soooo slow! Luckily i ordered before the crowd came but multiple people left due to the TWO people not being able to handle the orders that were coming in. It even took a long time for to get my check which doesn't make sense. Multiple people left due to not ring able to order their food timely. Service here could be way better, if it's after 2 am I would go else where read more

Came here for lunch with some of my friends. You wouldn't think much of this place but the arepas are awesome here. I had the combination arepa and the chicken cachapa which was amazing!! It had a great blend of flavoring a little sweet from the cachapa and a mixture of flavor from the chicken!! The pineapple juice was really fresh. The empanadas were delicious as well. Full of flavor! The sauce options are awesome too. They had a cilantro sauce which I loved!! Add in the hot sauce with the arepas yum!! I would definitely come back to this spot when I come back. read more

Excellent. We got the first thing on the menu, the Pabellon. My boyfriend and I LOVED it. We were very hungry looking for anything quick as we were leaving the airport with the rental car. It was just enough to hold us over for an early dinner. Also, be aware that the parking situation is horrendous. We got lucky. Enjoy! read more

Truly enjoyed the chat I had with the owner. He has been in business for over 7 years. He left Valenzuela looking for a better life and as he put it "Puerto Rico is my forever home". His Arepas can be stuffed with seafood, chicken, beef, pork and a few others. I had the octopus which was incredible. He uses all local ingredients from the avocado to the plantains. It is a nicely located hole in the wall on a busy beach street. You can have a mixed drink or a cold Beer. The taste was incredible, packed full of seasonings, chopped onions, etc. Always remember your on island time so be patient and relax for a change. Gracias por la comida rica! read more
This is a great little mom and pop shop in Isla Verde. Prices are reasonable and the arepas are full of flavor. I have a small stomach and can only eat one stuffed arepa. For those with a big stomach I would recommend 2-3 stuffed arepas. My favorite is the Pionono with chicken. It's paired back to a sweet plantains, cheese, and I add avocado. It's filling and hits the spot every time. They have a full bar. I like to ask for my favorite combination of alcohol. More on the sweeter side for those who want more than rum and coke or tequila and vodka. Ask for a Malibu, Passoa, and Jugo de parcha (passion fruit juice). Provecho! read more

Venezuelan food at its best! Came here expecting random cheap and easy street food, walk out pleasantly surprised. The food itself was plentiful and the flavor was amazing. Their house garlic and cilantro sauces were an outstanding addition to the already amazing flavorful arepas. Overall, the food and experience was amazing and I will be returning. read more

Excellent Arepas! My favorite was the arepa mixta. The beach arepa was good too. The arepas are very greasy and delicious Parking is a little tight but there is some. I recommend this place if you need a break from mofongo and need some yummy food. read more
Found this place on Yelp while wondering around the streets of Isla Verde in PR. As we walked by, the smell coming out from this tiny joint was intoxicating. It's a small shack on a parking lot with bar stools. There's also bar with patio seating right next to it. Prices are between 4-6 bucks and all food are made to order. Service is also super friendly. I got the arepa sandwich Combinacion (pollo, molida, camarones w/ melted cheese). It was excellent and filling. Loved the semi crunch from the fresh hot arepa. The bartender also made me a special rum tropical drink to wash it all down. Such nice young people and they encouraged us to take pics of the food because they were proud of it. It's always great to find local eats like this. Cheap, friendly, simple yet yummy food! read more

I LOVE venezuelan food. one of my absolute fav cuisines... and this place has to be one of the best i've had!! the arepa was absolutely delicious and the patacones were fresh and not overly oily. the sauces were incredible and I loved the carne mechada. honestly wish we had this spot back home as I could definitely see myself being a regular here! read more
