Food is 2 star. Service is nearly nonexistent. It was difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. I wasn't sure if the server was babysitting or serving tables. The blonde stood talking to a table about her personal life and stared at us when we walked in. We had to ask if she was going to seat us in the empty restaurant or if we seat ourselves. BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN TOWN. Hands down. I have seen how the food is prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and food is cooked to order. Nothing frozen except the margaritas, which are excellent and best priced around as well. I was one of the ones sitting at the table that Charlen was standing at talking to Ms. Lynn, my best friend. Lynn, this very morning, lost a close dear friend of her's of over 20 years. The two of us had just gotten back from making a quick run to get some things for her family (snacks and food stuffs) as they gather at her friend's home, and decided to stop in and see Charlen and her girls, as her daughters are almost like surrogate kids to Ms. Lynn as well and I knew seeing them would cheer her up. So we stopped to grab lunch, visit with the girls and Charlen, who also is having a somber day as today marks the anniversary of her own step-father's passing a year ago today. Charlen was at our table in mid-sentence with Ms. Lynn as you walked in, and asked you to have a seat at the same time your girlfriend asked if you sit anywhere. This really is the waitress's duty, and I am sure Charlen will address this. Next... you say the food is two star? You must not have eaten what I and everyone else, including some rather famous locals, have come to expect and love about both Los Chilaquiles and their other restaurant flagship in Goodletsville, Ruby Kitchen. Los Chilaquiles, like Ruby's only uses FRESH ingredients, most locally sourced, and all food is prepared to order, instead of mass produced and frozen like most restaurants. Guacamole is made daily, as is queso. All main entrees and sides are cooked to order and served as fresh as it gets. I know, I have helped out prepping food in the back once or twice and can tell you first hand. Maybe it is possible something wasn't cooked to your liking, but I HIGHLY doubt it was worthy of anything less than a minimum of 4 Stars. Again, Charlen apologized for not greeting you the second you walked in, and that is partially my fault, so to that I apologize. I ordered takeout on Door Dash and was pretty disappointed. The salsa was very good but not enough to redeem the whole meal. I got the Chimichanga with chicken. The Chimichanga itself was very small, not that much bigger than a taco, and had no flavor. The beans were gross, and my standards for refried beans aren't that high. My family of 5 just had an excellent dining experience here. From the servers to the homemade chips & salsa, to the fabulous burritos, taco salad & quesadillas everything was top notch. To begin, this is my first ever review. I am a simple man, and don't complain much when it comes to food. For starters I walked in and seen no one whom looked to be an employee. Then pops up a kid(probably 16-17yrs old) who was sitting with 2 other children. Who advised me to seat myself and that he would be right over. No big deal, it's not busy I understand. The waiter brings out my chips and salsa which had a glove attached to it and plastic wrap over the container. Again, no biggie at least they're being sanitary and using gloves. So I order a coke and look over the menu, and while doing so I hear a 2L bottle open up and the drink being poured. It's a small business, I understand...except my drink was flat. I order the Chile Colorado and a side of queso. I hear the drill fire up, and I'm thinking wow this is about to be good and fresh. Well, I was let down...the beans were okay can't really mess those up. The rice was mushy and were obviously sitting in the steamer for too long and the beef was bland. The Chile Colorado comes with a red "Ranchero" sauce on the meat. It did not have that on there, But boy did it have a lot of cilantro on there... the only thing I could taste was a slight burntness. So I put the queso on everything to try and doctor it up and it didn't help. The waiter never asked how my food was, if I needed anything except for at the end of my meal that I didn't finish. To busy babysitting to worry about the customer it seemed, which is unfortunate since I was the only one there. The owner/cook was sitting on the other side of the room watching videos on her phone and talking to her waiter who was in the other room. Which again isn't a big deal, but when I'm the only customer there....you could be a little personable and ask me how everything is. Especially if you cooked it. read more

Went to lunch on mother's day here and had a great experience! The guacamole is the best I've had in Nashville! Salsa is so fresh as well. My mom was bummed they were sold out of tamales (her fave). Had the tacos (so good) and mushroom quesadilla was great as well. We will for sure be back (esp to try the tamales). Also thought it was amazing the owner gave us roses for Mother's Day. Really bad service, food was ok like every other Mexican restaurant around. Didn't have a Mexican feel, more of a greasy spoon feel. Got the supreme burrito and it was literally 4 bites worth. Was told we had chips coming but never came. Told the waitress when she finally came by,I was done (my plate was empty) she told me she would get it later and left to talk to another table, crazy. So many other real Mexican restaurants close by, so don't bother with this one. read more

Me and my boyfriend had the worst experience here. The server didn't know the menu at all she was unable to answer any questions we had. I ordered beef and cheese nachos and he ordered a torta and they brought my nachos out, we waited for 20 minutes, my boyfriend still had not received his food, then we were informed that they didn't have the supplies for the torta. So he had to order something else when I already finished my meal. They didn't give us a discount or offer anything for causing this inconvenience. We went in for a Early Dinner and Ordered the White Cheese Dip which was Good, but the Guacamole had 90% Onions and just enough avocado to hold the onions together. I ordered a pork taco chicken tacos soft tacos and a beef burrito and none of them did I like is a something to meet tasted terrible on all of them didn't care for him did like the beans and rice I might like to try their fajitas on a Thursday when they have two fajitas dinner for $14.99. Our waitress was very nice but very spastic the best way I can describe her very anxious and there was only one other couple in the restaurant who were almost finished with their meal before we even got tires ordered so I don't know why she had such anxiety and getting things out but but she was very nice. My Friend had a beef enchilada I think a cheese enchilada and something else but I can't remember but she said she enjoyed her so I guess that's what's important she enjoyed hers but like I said service though she was very nice was okay and it was like 50-50 that I didn't really care for what I had some things like the chips salsa and cheese dip alight guacamole is not what I could have called a guacamole since it had more onions than avocado so I think it be worth going to again to see if it gets better because one of the most important things that I like is salsa and chips. read more

I would advise against ordering from this restaurant on doordash. If there is an issue they will not make it right. There was incorrect information on the door dash menu where something said it came with steak and it did not. When I called to talk to them about it, first off, he said well let me pull up doordash and see if it says it on mine, then he stated he didn't know why it said that because the meat is extra, then this woman in the background was cussing about it stating it wasn't her problem it was doordash's problem. I then asked what can you do to make it right, and he told me I could come down there and see if she would give me the steak. Really? I will never order from them again nor will I set foot inside their restaurant. The more people know about this "wonderful", (yes this is sarcasm), customer service this restaurant offers, the better. But I must give them hats off, my mother's dinner was good.
