Taco plate with an additional taco - deliciousness
    La Shauna N.

Absolutely delicious! The place is only opened Fridays and Saturdays which I learned the hard way by driving there on multiple occasions and finding out they were closed. This place is probably the best Mexican food in Hayward. The beans are so flavorful and the owner is so kind. Really a nice environment in a slightly hidden part of downtown.

Los Compadres has been here for 50+ years. don't remember being here before. offerings: traditional menu-slightly different from modern taquerias. eats: 2 sopes with rice & beans (10.99) -corn meal dishes topped with beans, chile verde, lettuce, cheese, salsa fresca, mild sauce & sour cream. -chili verde didn't taste spicy, slightly dry. the red salsa has a bit of heat. take outs: -will slower try older mexican eateries to get idea what traditional mexican tastes like.

Ive been eating at this family run restaurant since i was a little kid. Started with rice & bean burritos and still eating the rice, bean & cheese burritos!! Their homemade salsa is delicious and make sure you buy a bottle to take home. I don't eat meat anymore but would recommended you try the chili Verde super burrito with the chili verde sauce on top!!!! Also make sure to have a cold beer or 2! Oh and tell Ignacio ashley sent you!

Good eats! Nothing awed me, it's a family owned restaurant, quick service and friendly.

It was soo good. The table salsas were super bomb too! They compliment their food soo well. They have 3 Salsas. A Red Smokey salsa Spicy Orange Salsa medium not spicy Salsa Verde not spicy but yummy. The service is good but not too fast. They are mainly a sit down spot tucked off with parking in the back. Plenty. The decor inside is simple but bright and fun. We went in circles... the turns are short. ***does not allow outside food or drink inside (unless it's for health reasons)*** FOOD: Ordered 5 tacos at $3.95 per taco, no matter what the meat is. Lots of meat. Lots of onions and cilantro. Lots of lime slices provided. Radishes provided...wished there was more. Surprised there wasn't any jalapeños provided. Ordering takeout, they immediately provided all types of salsas without asking. SERVICE: Takeout orders didn't have much service. Directly handed the bag of food. VIBEZ: Mainly males and construction workers. Casual. Fast dining. Standard taqueria vibes. Located on their own grounds with parking in the rear (may be a tight squeeze and complicated especially during peak times). Would I come back? I want to try their burrito. :)

Anyway, I came here randomly for lunch because I really liked the one in Dublin. I ordered a quesadilla and 2 tacos with a drink. Honestly it was kinda steep, but that's just how the economy is now. The salsa bar was stocked and it was hella good. The service was nice and everyone greeted each customer so it was good. It was crowded when I went, but there was plenty of seating for everyone. Will come here again if I'm in the area.

While it is part of Southland Mall, it's not attached to the actual mall. It's near Panera and several doors down from Panda. Most tables were filled by the time I arrived on Sunday evening but with only 1 person in line to order. I ordered 3 burritos and 2 tacos to go, and it came to about $55, tip optional. To the left of the ordering area, there is a chips/salsa bar with containers for the salsa/lime, and bags and "boats" for the chips. I prepared chips, pico de gallo, and lime while waiting for my number to be called. Thirty minute commute later, I got home, and we took everything out. Chips were large pieces, very crunchy, and still warm (not sure if warm originally or because they were on top of my food). Tacos were grilled chicken and carne asada. There were 2 tortillas as usual and plenty of meat on top. Squeezed some lime on it, and it was yummy, but I should have poured some salsa on it so that it didn't taste as dry. User error, but I didn't want to be greedy with the salsa and didn't bring enough for the chips and meals. My daughter took the chicken taco home but said the pieces of chicken she picked at had very good flavor. She also took her chicken burrito home, so I can't comment on that. My carne asada burrito had ample amount of steak along w/beans and rice. The pico de gallo kept it from being dry, but I didn't like that it had bell peppers in it because to me, even though it's very little amount, it still overwhelms the taste of everything. The burrito was so large that I could only finish half of it. My husband ate the super fish burrito. While he liked it, he said it didn't have enough fish and possibly had too much sour cream and guacamole (which he's never said before!). Also, he felt the cheese also overwhelmed the taste. I'm thinking if there were more fish, it would have equalized everything though. Overall, if I were in the area, I would return but make sure I dine in to get a better feel of all the flavors and possibly order something else.

Not a lot of taco spots are open late at 10p but I saw that PNT was open. My family and I pulled into the driveway and were confused because it looked and sounded like a bar. There were a few people standing outside and I asked if this was a bar or restaurant and the gentleman said it's a restaurant. We walk in and got some stares because it was late and we had kids. Didn't matter to us. Everything on the menu sounded delish and they had al day breakfast items. We ended up going with the following: 1. Chicken sandwich- 10/10 my teen loved this. It was a crispy thinly sliced chicken breast with all the fixings, and pressed to perfection. 2. Chicken Caesar salad - 10/10 the lettuce was Romain, tossed in Caesar dressing and parm, with grilled chicken filet. 3. 4 tacos de asada - 10/10 yummy chopped steak, seasoned and grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if the evening chef cooks better or maybe we were starving, but the food was great! Ambience at the time was pretty loud but I figure it's because people hanging out in the bar area. Definitely will be back.

‼Absolutely horrible tasting food that is ridiculously over priced oh my god. NOT WORTH MY $44 !…read more I got these food items: Asada tacos- 1/2 of the taco meat was just big oily chunks of fat, I spat it out immediately. Rest of it was tolerable to chew. Tortilla was dry and oily. Al Pastor tacos- bland meat with a lingering dry pepper aftertaste that makes the meat taste old. Took one bite and was immediately repulsed. Chips and dip (guac and salsa)- chips are oily and hard to chew. Guac was bland, no garlic or cut tomato. Salsa was a viscous sludge in a small tub, had the same pepper taste as the Al Pastor. Horchata drink- too much cinnamon and saw multiple lidded to go cups of this already made in the fridge behind the register, no expiration dates on them. ALSO PLEASE UPDATE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, I was charged $11.95 for the chips and dip but the menu says "house chips and guac $9.50" ... how is salsa $2.45? Only positive thing I would mention is that the free tiny salsa, slice of lime, sliced radish, and pickled jalapeño and carrot was nice of them. Wish the pickled veggies didn't drip vinegar all over the bag (it was wrapped in tin foil). Never been here before and never coming back again.

From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. The food was fantastic, the ambience was beautiful, the drinks were spot on, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We started with the Trio Ceviche, which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife had the Paella, and I ordered the Short Ribs--both were absolutely fantastic. Everything was plated beautifully and served quickly without feeling rushed. We also had the pleasure of meeting Miriam, the restaurant manager, who went above and beyond to take care of us. Her warm hospitality really made our evening special and turned a great dinner into a wonderful overall experience. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the delicious dishes on the menu. Casa del Toro is definitely one of our new go-to places to dine! Highly recommended!
