Trash. I used to recommend this place to all of my clients now I will never do that again. If I'm asked about this place I will share my story of them of how they charged me for another persons order on top of my order and how they acted it was our fault and how they treated my mom after she just asked when our CORRECT order would be ready since she'd been waiting 30 additional minutes after THEIR OWN MISTAKE and how lovely the owner acted and how good of an example she is to her own employees. I was promised a credit which I never got and now dealing with that dispute because the owner is a liar ha. Stay away . Los Compadres is a family favorite of ours. Last time I ordered Asada Enchiladas with an egg on top and I wasn't disappointed. The queso we ordered for an appetizer was FIRE! It did also taste somewhat stale?! Maybe it was an off day for the queso. The sopapillas and tortillas were good. Our food was served to us 40 minutes after we ordered, and was cold, we tried explaining that to their manager at the time. She said she saw food was hot, that they were understaffed and had new cooks. They could've given us a heads up to avoid waiting as long as we did. She kept trying to justify their mistakes and gave us an insulting 1.50 off one plate when all food was cold. I called and asked to get the general manager info and told me she'll just explain the same thing to her brother, so it will be pointless to call him. We wanted some form of discount for the crappy food quality we got. They don't care about their PAYING CUSTOMERS. She literally treated us highly disrespectful. A cousin recommended this place for the family to visit. We were a big party of 11 people and had a very long wait, over an hour. However the host was very nice and kept assuring us they would seat us as soon as possible. When they did, they served our drinks right away and took our orders. I got a taste of a few dishes. The menudo is one of the best I have tasted at a restaurant! Also, I would recommend their green chile over their red chile for the stuffed sopaipillas. I had the eggs and enchiladas dish and liked it, the beans on the side were surprisingly good. For dessert, we shared some sopaipillas with honey. If you ever want authentic New Mexican food this is the place to be. I've tried a lot of the menu but I can't stop coming back for the eggs and enchilada with desebrada (shredded beef) w/red and green a.k.a. Christmas. The shredded beef from here has wayyy more flavor than anywhere else in my opinion. I get it so much my waiter already gets it started for me when I walk in. Service is ALWAYS fast even on sundays when they are PACKED you'd think it would be a long wait but really isn't. Free chips and salsa as well (salsa is amazing). Los Compadres is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque! If you want deliciously authentic breakfast, lunch or dinner this is the place to go. They serve it up quick and get your hunger satisfied! Juevos Rancheros is my usual breakfast, but this time I ordered the beef enchiladas with eggs over medium and red chile... And I ate it all! Of course we also had chips and salsa and several cups of coffee. The staff at Los Compadres always recognize us as long time customers and takes a few minutes out if their hectic day to say "Hello! How are you doing today? It's been a little while since we've seen you." They show their appreciation that you keep coming back. My 11 year old son always orders the large bowl of menudo and just about finishes off the whole bowl. That's what it takes to keep him quiet for about half an hour! My Tacos and my husbands burrito didn't have much flavor, just kinda bland. Horchata was pretty good. Flan was a watery disappointment. I guess it was up to par with what you'd expect from a chain so can't complain too much. Just not somewhere I'd recommend to others. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Regrettably, I spent two hours of my life at this establishment. We were sat decently fast and waited over 20 minutes for someone to come by and take our order. Fast forward another 45 minutes and we finally received our food. Not one apology regarding our long wait time as the "manager" was assisting with bringing out the food. The worse part about our experience was the food being cold. The manager defended the restaurant saying the plates were warm, but we had two out of the three plates sent back with the server to have the food warmed up, the food also had no flavor. When we discussed these issues with the "manager" they offered us $1.50 off our bill and yet again defended that the plates were warm. They could care less about our experience, I highly recommend going to another local New Mexican restaurant as you can expect terrible service. read more
