We stopped into Los Dos Molinos while back in Phoenix, and after our 20-year absence, it was a complete joy to see that Los Dos is still serving up the hottest son-of-a-gun food in all of Arizona. The place continues to have that easygoing "just doing it our way" vibe you know and love it for, and it remains our favorite New Mexican chile-it-up restaurant on the planet. Clearly a lot of people feel that way, since even at an off hour in the middle of a summer afternoon, you'll find locals in there savoring the F&B. If the delicious dishes start to singe your tastebuds, don't forget to order a pitcher of the heartiest margaritas in town (or at least a flavored iced tea). Los Dos is the best of the best!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere. The family that owns the restaurant are such wonderful people. They take good care of you impeccable service and very friendly. I drive an hour once a week just to see them and eat their amazing food. Also dog friendly.

Have I really never written a review for Los Dos after 20 some years of going here anytime I am in Phoenix?! For history's sake I will give them 4 stars but today was more like 3. Went for Saturday brunch for the first time. No wait. Sat right down. Service was slow and food was slow to arrive. Fortunately drinks came quick. The servers have never been super friendly here and years of being popular have certainly made the restaurant comfortable in doing things their way and customers be damned. If you love the food you just learn to roll with it. And really the food is the deal. Intense, uncompromising New Mexican food that will set your hair on fire. Some like it hot indeed. In the old days you'd be guaranteed a wait and planned to just have a pitcher of margs and chips in the meantime. Now you can sit at your table and do the same wait after you order.

DONT RECOMMEND! I brought my kids and boyfriend to eat here after a long day. We waited forever for service and there was only 1 other table with people. Then we get our food. The steak was burnt. We kindly advised it was too hard to eat. They took it away and brought it back and said " that's how we make it" and gave it back. We ordered a tamale. It was so dry I am had to drink water to get it down my throat. Very disappointed. Still gad to buy McDonald's for my kids on the way home. It's a shame when McDonald's is better than a a Mexican food restaurant. DONT RECOMMEND!

Love this place. I was told about this restaurant 10 years ago by a former player. I came 10 years ago and it was amazing. Now 10 years later I've come back. The food is just as fantastic as it as then. I love that this place has survived Covid. Small quite spot great color and decorations. Service was fast. Chip and salsa are great. The salsa has amazing flavor and a bit of a bite in their spicier one. It's great to know that there is a family owned & operated for place for over 50 years. It's a place I will make sure to go every time I'm here for work in the future. The green chili stew is amazing and so filling. Not to mention the low prices for their food. So affordable great to feed a family for a little cost. Can't say enough about this place

    Its live and gets good!

Okay first of all let me tell you about the good style.... If you like spicy and flavorful sauces like enchiladas, carne con chile or burritos or something eith a saucy sauce, this place is the place you want to go too. The food has an authentic new Mexico tatste and the service is exceptional! Just to give you an example Erik gave us great recommendations, took time to explain spicy levels and also the difference between your regular style Mexican food vs this new Mexico style food Overall, the food was delicious, the music was great and the service was exceptional! Come vist them... I know i am!

When is Los Dos Molinos coming to Orange County in Southern California?

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing and sat down as we normally do. While I was walking to the restroom, which is located past the kitchen area, I heard a server/bartender we've seen several times before ask the cook, in an obviously annoyed tone, if two people had just arrived. When he said yes, she responded, "Who the fuck!?" The cook then looked directly at me. At that point, I honestly felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We decided to stay since my boyfriend had already ordered a beer, but the experience immediately felt different. We felt like our presence was an inconvenience simply because we came in an hour before closing. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. We ordered the beef skewers and a burger. The skewers were okay, but they were not nearly as good as we remembered them being. The burger, however, arrived completely cold. What makes this especially disappointing is that we used to really enjoy coming here. We understand that being close to closing time can be frustrating for a restaurant, but customers should still feel welcomed, especially when they are coming in well before closing and have supported the restaurant in the past. We really hope this was just a bad night, because we genuinely used to love coming here. But after this experience, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

He was incredibly kind and attentive, especially with my friend who is deaf, making sure we always had water, napkins, and plenty of chips. I told her that even though neither of us are into spicy margaritas, I knew she'd love it and I was right! Every margarita was delicious. I also ordered the lavender lemonade, which was refreshing and just as good. Ghost Ranch never seems to miss when it comes to drinks. Potato tacos! Another must have My friend ordered the Aztec Cake and insisted I'd regret not getting it. She was absolutely right. It was bomb and Torrance offered us a side of chips .TY. I ordered the short rib. It was flavorful, tender, and filling, with lots of garlic and savory flavor. I'm not sure if short rib is just not my thing, but it didn't wow me the way the Aztec Cake did. I warmed it up later and it was delicious a second time so no complaints. Excellent service, delicious drinks, and a fun way to spend the Fourth. We'll definitely be back!

I got the frozen margarita and it was a bit sweet, but nice for the summer evening. Our server wasn't super attentive, but was nice whenever they came around. There's a sampler entree platter I'd like to try, but of all the appetizers we tried, the best was probably the chips with guacamole and salsa.

Needless to say the waiter made all the difference, frankly - the service was very impressive and the food was pretty darn good too. Oh, I forgot to mention the chips and salsa? It was always full of tomatoes and onions, peppers and shredded meat, but on today's visit, I felt it was lacking all of the above. I will say the meat was seasoned well, but there wasn't much inside my burrito. Please see photos below. The Carne Asada burrito was a little bit larger. It consisted of pico, guacamole, beans, cheese, and grilled steak. The steak had a nice char on it. We each ordered a side of green chili. It was decent, but definitely did not have that New Mexican Hatch green chili flavor that I was searching for. I will say I do enjoy their chips and salsa. The salsa is chunky and a bit watery, but definitely has good flavor.

Blanco seemed like it would be a good choice, however I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. Sitting at the bar, service was pretty good. The bartenders were busy making drinks at times, but overall were attentive. The queso was delicious! We started with the appetizer sized serving and the chips were very good with a thick texture and good crunch. We saved some of the queso, intending to use it for dipping with the mixed grill fajitas we split. I will put that queso on anything, it's tasty! On the mixed grill fajitas platter, the carne asada was the item we enjoyed the least. The shrimp was definitely my favorite. Perfectly juicy and grilled, and had a great sauce over the top, it's labeled as spicy but I didn't find it to be too spicy, it just had a good flavor. The chicken was very juicy and then the steak was okay. I would definitely come back to try the short rib tacos, as other reviewers said were pretty tasty. Blanco reminded me of yummy Tex-Mex restaurants I've had in Texas, although its description is Sonoran Mexican food. Maybe it depends on the dish ordered. Either way, both are delicious food styles. And my rating reflected my overall enjoyment of the green chili queso, fresh chips & salsa, and juicy shrimp. I think the difference between 4-5 stars for me, comes down to having a nice ambiance, attentive service, and some items standing out. My cocktail was decent, however I wouldn't order that particular margarita again, I don't love mescal but I keep trying drinks that have it because I do like cocktails that have a note of the mescal flavor not the predominant taste. I did check with the bartenders before I ordered it and let them know, they said it's mild mescal taste, but I think it was pretty strong. We had missed happy hour by coming in 530pm, it ends at 5pm. I'd like to come back next time for HH. And thank goodness they are smart enough to provide free 2 hour parking in the Novus garage close by . That makes so much sense for customers. Some reviewers said the restaurant doesn't have any parking options besides valet. Unfortunately, with every great expansion food, drinks and service is not always constant among the chains. Our experience at the Blancos downtown was on par with what we use to experience when we went to our first Blancos. We had excellent service and good food. We started with guac, drinks and then proceeded to entrees. Several of us had tacos- tacos are two for 18-20 dollars and comes with rice and beans. We tried the sweet potatoes and the carne asada tacos. I love sweet potatoes, but this taco may of had too much sauce on it for my liking. In the pass, the dish had a lot less sauce so you can taste the potatoes. The other thing to be careful about is the ingredients in dishes- one of our guest is sensitive to onions and we clearly asked about the guac and informed that they were carmelized onions and they were raw. As for drinks- always good. Especially good if you catch a drink at happy hour. As for ambiance- it's an open restaurant. So not the place you go for a quiet dinner but more of a festive causal place. Our seat was next to the party room, so we had extra noise around us as the door was open. This restaurant also has a very large bar along the windows. Also, plenty of patio area when it cooler outside. Fun place for groups! Cheers!
