If you get horchata or another aqua fresca, u get no refills, and you can't switch to pop after. So get light ice. Horchata was decent, creamy but not the best I have had, but good. I would get it again. Most of the food they serve is beef and chicken. My favorites were (in order) Pollo a la Cream - chicken in cream, my favorite, mixed with rice, it had a great balance, add some onion from the taco place, and crema (sour cream) and it was my favorite thing by far, I added some of the other stuff below to make the flavors deeper Asado de Boda - tender meat with a rich sauce that had a ton of flavor Enchiladas Bojas - they tasted like they were mole, but i couldn't figure it out, but it was a sweet deep taste. I was in the area and was craving tacos. Found this close by. Kinda got confused once I entered because they also had a nightclub connected. But the restaurant was to the right. We were seated right away. I love the vibe because they had a karaoke night that night. It was just hard having conversations with people and the waiter because it was just so loud but happened to manage. I ended up ordering the combination #1-which consisted of a taco, tostada and quesadillas. I got it all in steak and it was pretty good. It also order a horchata which was also very delicious. My favorite was the complimentary chips and salsa. I love the green salsa. It had a kick but so delicious. The only thing is our service. Our waiter came and kinda rushed us to order and once we got our food, he barely came to check on us so by the time we needed the check, we literally had to flag him down. He also brought complimentary chips and salsa. I asked if the green salsa had dairy but due to the slight language barrier, it took a bit of work to understand. I assumed that the green salsa did have dairy because it looked creamy. Being vegan, I appreciated the vegetarian menu and selected the burrito without cheese and sour cream. My friend ordered the chimichanga. When the food arrived, I was a little bummed there was a sprinkle of cheese on the refried beans, but my friend just removed it for me with a fork. I am guessing that the server didn't understand that I didn't want cheese on anything. My friend loved her dish. Mine was good too, although I would have appreciated the same little side of lettuce and tomato that she had with her entree. Prices were reasonable. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked. We all enjoyed the ambiance, the delicious food, the live music, the drinks (piña colada and sangria), the service, but the best part is how attentive all the waitresses and waiters are specially the hostess "Victor!!!". By far the worst Mexican restaurant in the state. The only thing good about this place was the decor. But since I didn't visit this place for their decor, it can still be appreciated. I ordered the cheese and bean enchiladas. Sadly they used the street tacos tortillas, the real small ones. The beans were super dry and it was still early in the afternoon. They even tasted as if they had been in the fridge for a while. Their rice tasted old and some parts tasted as if old rice was mixed in with new one. The cheese on top was super greasy, not your typical greasy amount but even more. I had one of their $12 margaritas, and again, disappointed. Look at the garnishes, these have to be at least a day old. I could squeeze more juice out of a walnut than I could out of this lime and orange wedges. This usually happens when either you no longer care about the small details of your food, or your bartender just stopped caring. But it comes down to who is in charge. Last, for a $12 drink, I wish I could taste the tequila, not just the syrup. Again, either revamp or shut it down. read more

Plenty of parking out front especially during the week. The place has a cool kind of divey vibe. LOUD music greets you when you come in and sets the mood for the friendly service and good food to come. Delicious chips and salsa came out immediately so we dipped and crunched while we went thru the huge menu. We were hungry and in a hurry so we each chose tacos. Steak tacos excellent! The steak is chopped small and is piping hot - same for the chicken. Comes American style (lettuce tomato and cheese) or Mexican style (cilantro and onion). Refried or black beans available. We went here as a large group for Mother's Day so as a large group I can say the service was ok. But if this is there service normally, then I'm not sure I liked it. We had to ask them for water, chips and chips to be refilled, drinks, ordering for kids, and even our own dinners. There was a certain language barrier which I won't count against them, however, the food was too blend for our taste. We asked for hot sauce but that never came and finally we had to ask for grilled Jalapeneos just to add some flavor to our. I'm not sure I'll return again, at least not with a big group. This is definitely my new favorite local Mexican restaurant! The portions are big, the drinks are huge, and they are very attentive to all guests. I went on a Saturday night and they had live music and a karaoke contest which was super fun to see. It was lunch time and there were not many people there or we were early so we sat down quick and ordered. I didn't read the menu and ended up getting tacos American style with lettuce and cheese vs. the traditional onions/cilantro. Overall I would say that the tacos tasted good, not too chewy (carne asada taco). The chips come with three types of salsa which is nice. The tacos were fresh and not too oily which is what counts, but it was not a stand out meal where I would say I must come back. Time to try other tacos in the area! Los Fernandez is inside a strip mall right off of Barrington Road, not far from Golf Rd. We rolled in here 16 people large and got a table pretty quickly on a Sunday early afternoon. The dining area was huge and our large party got seated with no problem. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which was huge. Several others did as well. The chicken fajitas had a lot of veggies, but a decent amount of chicken (wish there was more). The interesting thing is, since we sat right next to each other, we got only 6 tortillas for 3 different people's fajita dishes. Thankfully they didn't charge us for ordering more. Besides the tortillas, the fajitas came with refried beans and spanish rice. I forgot whether it came with sour cream, as usually I don't care for em so that part I generally block out from my brain. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were amazing. There was not a lot of oil residue sitting at the bottom of the cast iron fajita plate, which you sometimes see with fajitas, so that was a definite plus. Despite our large party, we all got our food nearly at the same time, and we didn't wait more than 10-minutes to get our food. One cool thing about this place is that they have guacamole (pre-made) or guacamole made to order, right at the table side. My kids thought that was pretty cool. One thing to note, because of our large party, we were limited to divide the check only four ways. I get that it's a pain in the buttocks to get separate checks for everybody, so not really a complaint, but more of an FYI. Overall, great service considering the amount of people we had, and everybody was well fed. Food was really good. BATHROOM REVIEW: Bathroom was along blue wall near the back. Chips and salsa is amazing! The green one is spicy and I love it! I order the chicken fajitas every time I go and they are amazing. The chicken is seasoned well and very flavorfull. The size of the chicken is also good. My mom ordered the Tampiqueña and it's a skirt steak with a cheese enchilada- the steak was amazing. You can get it cooked how you like, we do medium rare. The next time we went, my mom ordered a burrito suizo with steak. She loved that too. We have not been disappointed with anything we have ordered. The mango margarita is delicious and I love that they use real fruit instead of syrup. The place is pretty big with very courteous waitstaff. They also have live music band on weekends and the overall vibe of the place is fun. Amazing variety of drinks! I don't know why I waited so long for this review, but here it is... The very first time I visited Los Fernandez was back in 2013. We were at the nearby hospital for a check-up, and decided to visit for some good Mexican food afterwards. After all these years, I still remembered it was a fantastic experience. But the problem was, it was really out of the way from where we lived then. But last year, we moved...right down the street from Los Fernandez (yayyy!!!!). Since moving closer, we've visited at least half a dozen times...and each time, it was a blast. The food is AMAZING, the service is great, and the atmosphere screams fun. It was our first time trying this place. Price per portion was great! They had a live DJ for music and gave you both spicy and mild salsa with chips.
