    Chimichanga

My friend and I were shopping next door and decided to stop here for dinner on a Friday evening around 5:30. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the host who was warm and welcoming. As he brought us to our booth, we both mentioned how fun the decor was at this restaurant. Soon after we were seated, the server came over to take our beverage order. The drinks arrived promptly. He also brought complimentary chips and salsa. I asked if the green salsa had dairy but due to the slight language barrier, it took a bit of work to understand. I assumed that the green salsa did have dairy because it looked creamy. Being vegan, I appreciated the vegetarian menu and selected the burrito without cheese and sour cream. My friend ordered the chimichanga. When the food arrived, I was a little bummed there was a sprinkle of cheese on the refried beans, but my friend just removed it for me with a fork. I am guessing that the server didn't understand that I didn't want cheese on anything. My friend loved her dish. Mine was good too, although I would have appreciated the same little side of lettuce and tomato that she had with her entree. Prices were reasonable. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked. Service was great. We both would definitely return!

Came here for taco tuesday thinking that all tacos are 1/2 price as the add says. Even on tbe table it says 50% off. Ordered my steak tacos and they came back full price. i asked why it's full price and they said that it's not included in the special. I showed the manager the website that they provided on the menu and even on the table and he said that they were old and outdated. so we needed up paying full price due to old menus...

Los Fernandez Restaurant has many drinks and food I really love it the service is great they are so polite and friendly.

First time and I loved it. Came to celebrate my birthday with my parents, small kids, and husband. We all enjoyed the ambiance, the delicious food, the live music, the drinks (piña colada and sangria), the service, but the best part is how attentive all the waitresses and waiters are specially the hostess "Victor!!!". I put his name with explanation because he was so attentive to all the tables and brought my girls a milkshake which they loved and brought a smile to their face. They will be requesting to come back! And now the karaoke will start. Nice! Such a great night Amazing!!

I tried out this restaurant recently, and it didn't disappoint. They have a vegetarian menu. We tried their fresh guacamole, cheese fries, and veggie enchiladas. The portions are huge, and my favorite was the enchiladas with spinach and cheese! Flavorful and delicious. On the weekends, they have Karaoke! The service was excellent as well! I'll definitely be back!

By far the worst Mexican restaurant in the state. The only thing good about this place was the decor. But since I didn't visit this place for their decor, it can still be appreciated. I ordered the cheese and bean enchiladas. Sadly they used the street tacos tortillas, the real small ones. The beans were super dry and it was still early in the afternoon. They even tasted as if they had been in the fridge for a while. Their rice tasted old and some parts tasted as if old rice was mixed in with new one. The cheese on top was super greasy, not your typical greasy amount but even more. I had one of their $12 margaritas, and again, disappointed. Look at the garnishes, these have to be at least a day old. I could squeeze more juice out of a walnut than I could out of this lime and orange wedges. This usually happens when either you no longer care about the small details of your food, or your bartender just stopped caring. But it comes down to who is in charge. Last, for a $12 drink, I wish I could taste the tequila, not just the syrup. Again, either revamp or shut it down.

Looking for another Mexican restaurant that was conveniently located for a quick after work place to grab dinner. Glad we tried Los Fernandez on Golf Road. Plenty of parking out front especially during the week. The place has a cool kind of divey vibe. LOUD music greets you when you come in and sets the mood for the friendly service and good food to come. Delicious chips and salsa came out immediately so we dipped and crunched while we went thru the huge menu. We were hungry and in a hurry so we each chose tacos. Steak tacos excellent! The steak is chopped small and is piping hot - same for the chicken. Comes American style (lettuce tomato and cheese) or Mexican style (cilantro and onion). Refried or black beans available. Los Fernandez is a find come check them out. We'll be back for sure!

This is definitely my new favorite local Mexican restaurant! The portions are big, the drinks are huge, and they are very attentive to all guests. I went on a Saturday night and they had live music and a karaoke contest which was super fun to see. The place was completely filled when we went for dinner time but they were still quick to take orders and bring the food out.

Restaurant review You can never go wrong with tacos. I was recently in town and cravings for tacos and spotted this restaurant next to Mariano's grocery store. It was lunch time and there were not many people there or we were early so we sat down quick and ordered. I didn't read the menu and ended up getting tacos American style with lettuce and cheese vs. the traditional onions/cilantro. Overall I would say that the tacos tasted good, not too chewy (carne asada taco). The chips come with three types of salsa which is nice. The tacos were fresh and not too oily which is what counts, but it was not a stand out meal where I would say I must come back. Time to try other tacos in the area! Pros: quick service, three types of salsa, appears to have live music on the weekends Cons: none Hidden deals: Monday 8.99 chicken enchiladas, 6 dollar house margarita

I got -shrimp po boys (x-tomato) with fries -one of each sauce -peach cobbler On my 15 minute drive home everything was still fresh and warm and crispy. -Fries were SO perfectly seasoned I almost didn't even need a sauce, which for me is crazy as I need a sauce with everything (but I always try it first without). -The po boy...my god. It was so crispy, fresh, the shrimps were perfectly battered (hate when they hide the shrimp between 10 layers of batter), the lettuce was fresh and surprisingly not wilted by the time I got to my destination. I'm not one for cheese on my po boys, and almost got it without, but im actually really glad I kept the cheese on. -Sauces were all great, the Roumalade is where it's at though. I could've really just had 10 of those and been happy! The tarter was a bit less zesty/tart than what I'm used to, but I ended up putting the hot sauce in it and it was delicious -peach cobbler i have yet to try, but it looks so glossy and creamy, will be eating tonight! The service was really just the cherry on top. Elizabeth, the owner, is the one who greeted me, and she was just a doll. She's a sauce queen, like me, so she made sure I try every single sauce! And gave me the peach cobbler on the house as it's my first time there. She's just the sweetest! You can tell her, her husband, and her son just have so much fun together. I'm just so warmed by my experience there, as she went so above and beyond, AND my food was impeccable. I'm quite the critique with my food, and only rate honest to what I feel, and this place deserves 5/5 stars hands down.

I stopped in for lunch to pickup a large order or shrimp and fries. I was greeted by Elizabeth initially. She insisted that I upgrade to the plate instead which included cole slaw and potato salad for a small extra fee so I proceeded to lock it in. Shortly after, her husband Kenny greeted me and we had a friendly talk for a while. They hooked me up with an additional side and drink (they did not have to do that) which I thought was a very kind gesture. My food came out prompt, hot and fresh. I ate a few shrimp and fries while there before hitting the road. Everything was crispy, seasoned well and appetizing. I ate the cole slaw and potato salad later at work and enjoyed each. Overall, this is a business I'd certainly return to in the near future. Cost is very competitive and on par with most places so this is a reason to further recommend them. To the owners, thank you for an excellent first impression. Hope to see you again soon!

It is the classic set-up, where you pick a base (usually rice) and the protein (usually raw fish), and enhance the texture and flavor by directing the counter person to add various toppings and sauces. The counter person was very friendly, giving us plenty of time to make our choice. She was also generous with the toppings, and I'm pretty sure she would have customized it anyway we want. The prep area was very clean, tidy, and organized, with each bin fully stocked with the prescribed ingredients. There is only one size, with one large scoop of fish and rice being the base, and it's plenty. Some toppings are extra: if you get the basic with tuna and no extra-costing add-ons, it is $12. I ended up getting a predefined bowl called the Da Kine (Marinated tuna) for $13, and it was good: nice mix of flavors and made it simple. Some differences from previous poke places we've been: -- they offer a sushi rice option, taking the same hot white rice, and squirting a sushi (vinegar and sugar) mixture on top of it. In my case, it didn't really add much. -- they have a premarinated tuna option, along with the unmarinated. Some places are now letting you choose your sauce spice mix first, and then marinating your protein choice for you right there. It's a bit more work, but I think it does add something worth it. The marinated tuna that I had was fine, but definitely lacked the absolute 'wow' when eating just freshly cubed ahi tuna. It looks like the Poke Bros are THE place for Poke all around Chicagoland, and they have found a good place to source their ahi and salmon (hopefully) daily, as good as can be expected this far from the ocean.
