I have been waiting (mind you with reservations) for almost three hours. Fact of the matter is that people literally have finished their meals but are just sitting at tables on their phones and not budging. This has been a ridiculous wait indeed and I HIGHLY refuse to give them more than 1 star because we had the nachos while we waited and the were not at all good to begin with. It is super crowded and just not what I expected in the least. The staff seems to really not care when it comes to the frustration some of us are feeling as they seem to just go with the flow. Not sure if this is an all the time thing but I ABSOLUTELY refuse to never come here again. I cannot understand how this is possible in such a big establishment. My mom and i were running errands and decided to go here for lunch. We walked in and waited a couple minutes, there was no host to greet us or seat us. Eventually a server came up to us and seated us. ...that was the worst part of our dining experience, being ignored and waiting to be noticed. Once we actually got seated we were happy. They served us some chips and three salsa, all of which were tasty. We then proceeded to order margaritas. I got strawberry and my mom got mango. They were pretty large and tasted homemade yummm As our main course we ordered a dish that was for two it was a fajita platter. It was huge!! Tried them for the first time on Friday night. I was surprised how big the place is, they certainly have plenty of tables & booths, plus a bar area, to accommodate a crowd. They had live music which, although the singer/keyboard player was very good, the volume was WAY too loud for 6 p.m. - even if it was a Friday night it's not like they are a nightclub. The hubs & I had to yell at one another across the booth to hear one another - same goes with the waitress - so we weren't really off to a great start. They have a huge menu and everything sounded quite good. I had the Cuban sandwich, which was HUGE. It tasted good & the bread was great, but other than the various meats (of which there were plenty) the other fillings were more pilled right in the middle of the sandwich & not spread out so I rearranged the fillings a bit for better coverage. The sandwich doesn't come with a side but it was so big that wasn't an issue as I only ate half and took the rest home (they do have various sides a la carte if you feel so inclined). The Hubs had the Enchiladas Suizos platter (chicken) which he said was just average. Their free chips & 3 assorted salsas were quite good (2 of the 3 salsas are spicy so if you don't like spicy there is 1 for you). Our server seemed pleasant enough (aside from us all having to yell at one another over the music) but she wasn't very attentive. She came over once right after our food was delivered to ask how it was and then disappeared. Our sodas & waters were never refilled at all so we basically stopped eating when we realized she was no where to be seen and had been sitting with empty glasses for 10 minutes. After sitting another 10 minutes and still not seeing our server we finally flagged down another server after a few attempts at getting someone's attention & asked for boxes, mentioning we have no idea where our server went (in all I'd say she was gone for 30 minutes). I visited here last night with my mother, aunt, and grandmother, and we had a great time. The place seemed well kept, service was friendly and attentive, music was good, and the food was great. Needless to say, I am shocked to see all of the negative reviews. This is a great place for anyone that appreciates and loves Mexican cuisine, or are looking for a new place to try. I highly recommend the chiles rellenos, and I would guess my grandmother and aunt would recommend the enchiladas, as they were raving about them after. They loved their (huge) strawberry margaritas, and we all loved the fresh guacamole. This is also a great place if you are celebrating a birthday for an adult. read more

This is a great place for couples, families large and small and friends night out. We have come here a few times and have never been disappointed. They have live music on the weekends which makes it fun. Their carna asada is unbelievably good. On our last visit we had the fajitas plate for 2. I love the food at Los Fernandez it's truly authentic!!! My favorite is the Huachinango Frito which is basically deep friend red snapper... You must try it, you won't be disappointed! They also have this drink called Pitbull Margarita which is two beers upside down in a margarita which is so refreshing... Perfect for the hot summer days! read more

**This review written 40 minutes after leaving without being seated on 4/21/18. I am sitting at a different restaurant, food ordered, drink in hand.** We arrived around 8pm with a group of 5, and the first person in our party to arrive was informed it would be a 25-30 minute wait. We spent our 25-30 minutes watching groups walk in and be seated, with the queue gradually being seated. After the 30 minutes had passed, we we're behind one other group. Inside the restaurant - from my perspective - there were 3 tables empty, bussed and open for seating, yet were not being used. After 45 minutes, two of the 3 tables were taken by the group in front of ours, and one group who walked in after us. After 1 hour of waiting, with 1 table near the hostess desk still open, we were not seated. Our conversations with the hostess simply resulted in "you're group is next up." After that hour mark passed, we chose to leave and go to nearby restaurant. Our group of 5 could've easily sat at the table near the hostess desk, but the wait staff did not seem to think so. What is most frustrating is seeing recent reviews of this restaurant being so positive and negative. Tonight, our group felt very neglected, passed over and left with a feeling that we were not wanted at Los Fernandez. We could've easily been seated at that table by the hostess desk. We could be enjoying their food right now - though, by recent reviews, seems to be fairly ordinary. Maybe our group lucked out. Maybe our neglected wait turned out for the better. not sure this place even deserves one star. We're still waiting for our food as I type this. Although the table sitting next to us- with six people- who sat down at the exact same time are finished eating already!!!! Chicken quesadillas are Soggy. Hope our enchiladas and tacos are better. Do NOT order the smaller margarita with the two coronas in it,- It was warm & too much beer for the little margarita glass- ruined the taste. AND be warned- Thursday night is karaoke night and I'm pretty sure they think every single person in the restaurant is stone deaf - it's so loud you can barely even talk to the person across the table. And it's only 8 o'clock. Restaurant is fairly busy. Still waiting on our food. Update-- food finally arrived. Was not worth the wait. We will not go back. Stayed at the Country Inn across the parking lot and was given a 10% discount which was a nice surprise. Excellent service, reasonable prices for food and drinks. I am one of those weirdos that LOVES liver on occasion. This was THE BEST prepared liver I have ever had. Side salads were generous and fresh with my favorite type of homemade ranch dressing. I would have never known about this place till a friend invited me out for her birthday...my co-worker also knew about this place and said it was pretty decent. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday night, I do recommend a reservation during that time as there was a bit of a wait when we got there. The staff weren't able to accommodate us with separate checks, but they were able to charge as many cards as we wanted so that helped. The drink menu is extensive...they are generous with the alcohol that is in them. The food menu is decent, I had the chicken flautas which were very good, along with the rice. Upon sitting down you get three different salsas - one spicier than the other, also very good. There is live entertainment here, and karaoke and there were about 10 other birthdays going on here along with our table...this IS a great place to celebrate a birthday, I'm just sayin... and the birthday boy or girl gets a small cake as well! READ THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO GO AND EAT THERE ,I liked this place before today , sadly I had a bad service , my waitress forgot my wife's order , we all got our food and ;but my wife's dish never came , so I talk to the manager I guess , guy dressed up , giving orders to the people working there , 20 minutes later the dish arrived my food already cold because waiting on my wife's food my kid ordered some stake tacos with aguacate , no aguacate , they took the plate brought it back with the aguacate on them friggin tacos were the same tacos cold , and the worst part is that they added the tip to my bill 18% on $110 bill so beware of that if you don't pay attention you will leave double tip I believe this is 100% ilegal to do unless is more than eight people can be added ,sorry but I will never go back there read more

I love this restaurant. The food and service is great. The atmosphere is very fun. It does get very busy. My only complaint is if you are planning on making a reservation don't make the mistake I did. I sent them a message through messenger to make a reservation for 4 people. They asked for the details and they confirmed my reservation. The day of my reservation comes I tell the hostess my name and they said they do not have any reservation under my name. In addition they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. Which they did not mention that when I made the reservation. So me and my party had to wait 20 minutes to get a table I didn't mind waiting. I messaged them telling them the situation and the person replied "to expect this at all the restaurants especially on Saturdays" which did not answer my question of why they didn't tell me they didn't take reservation for a party of 4. Went out with friends for my birthday. We eat dinner elsewhere and came here for dessert and drinks. Place was not very busy. We ordered cheesecake and fried ice cream. 45 mins later our dessert was still MIA! I decided to call in the dessert order from our table on my cell phone and see if take-out was quicker. Within minutes the waitress came by with an attitude and claimed " we are making your birthday dessert:" 1. Thanks for ruining my friends surprise for my birthday 2. I wasn't aware they make the cheese cake fresh to order. 5 minutes later a pre-sliced cheesecake bathed (drowned) in caramel & chocolate sauce arrived at our table. It is extremely difficult to find anything positive about this restaurant except it is nicely decorated. Common in many Mexican restaurants, the chips arrived shortly after we were seated. The chips, oily and no taste. The server, we saw her only once when she took our order. Our order arrived promptly, served by someone else other than our server. My wife took two bites of her meal and could not eat anymore. I however was able to take about five bites and had to stop. The meals were so terrible which could explain the lack of our server returning to check on how we were doing. The beans were cold, the beef and chicken, cannot even describe the terrible taste. The entertainer was good, but too loud for the size of the restaurant. Unfortunately I had to track down a server to get our check without any consideration from them when she saw our uneaten meals. So disappointed! Los Fernandez was a nice little place with great food at their old location next to the Walgreens across the street. We paid the new Fernandez, a visit during lunch time. It is now a huge, cavernous place. Combination night club, bar and restaurant. It reminded me of one of those massive beer tents in Munich during Oktoberfest, with a touch of Tijuana. The place was elbow-to-elbow packed even as big as it is. Good for the owners, bad for customers (unless you like crowds, slow service and excessive noise). The music (live), extremely loud. So loud, it was hard to hear myself think, even less being able to hear the waiter and simply impossible to have a conversation. The quality of the food itself went down several notches. The service, below par. Will never set foot there again. Not my scene. But maybe you will like it. Judge for yourself. read more

Very good place to eat at, food is delicious if you're ACTUALLY eating at the restaurant but even then my boyfriend and I had a bad experience. About two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I came here and he ordered menudo for his hangover only to be disappointed in how the menudo wasn't cleaned good enough and still had a lot of fat on it. He even told me this was the worst he's ever had. Although his experience wasn't pleasant, I still enjoyed my camarones a la Diabla and caldo de camaron. Today though was our first time having take out and I was actually pretty excited. It was all excitement for nothing to put it nicely. Got camarones a la diabla (my favorite dish) only to be disappointed, they were overcooked and mine were barely spicey. On top of that it wasn't saucey like it normally is, and the shrimps weren't cleaned good enough. We ordered a few other things as well and they were poorly made. To drink we got 3 Jamaica waters and they were very sweet today, another let down. Our bill came out to 51$ and I couldn't stress enough how disappointed I was and what a waste of money it was as well. And to think the boyfriend and I were thinking about taking our families here.... Called the manager and let him know about our awful experience and he was very kind in me being able to notify him on these mistakes, as he would talk with his kitchen staff , and told me to give this place another opportunity but I'm not quite sure that will happen any time soon... read more

Came to celebrate a Birthday. Ordered the Milanesa and it was kind of dry, and the sides were bland. I didn't like my food. Service was real slow. Music got annoying after awhile. This restaurant ruined my family's Easter meal. We waited 1.5 hrs for our food. My mother asked to speak to the manager about the wait. The manager never came out of the back/ kitchen and instead sent some lady who wasn't a waiter or manager. Lady basically told my mother she was lying ("I'll have to check the computer and make sure that's correct"). We then asked for a discount, to talk to the manager and a formal apology for the wait and rude service. Lady informs us she's calling the cops on us because we wouldn't pay the bill (a complete lie). As she's threatening to call the cops I tell her that at this point we just want a formal apology for the poor service and for calling my mother a liar. I then ask, "Well, are you going to apologize?" She says no and states that everyone should be treated with respect. I then say, "Exactly. That's what I'm trying to tell you." I proceeded to wish her a happy Easter and paid for my family's meal. Im disgusted with the "service" that was given today.
