Stop by if you're looking for a quick bite and yummy Dominican food. Restaurant is located on the same block as Target. You have to take a big step up to get inside the door. When you walk in you order from one side and go down the line picking what you'd like to get from the food selection. Some items that were available today included plantains, white rice, arroz morro, beef stew, pernil, veggies, mangu, beans and chicharron. There is no menu so it's hard to tell what else is available besides what is on display. They do have the morir soñando drink which is like a creamsicle drink. You can pick anywhere to sit. The place isn't super spacious but good for families. If you're looking for no frills spot check this spot out!

I was pleasantly surprised by this location. My friend had recommended this place and I was a little skeptical about going. However, customer service was amazing. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. The food was so good, I couldn't put my fork down! I highly recommend.

The chicken stew and cabbage side are soooo good, I could eat this everyday. Good portions for the price and the staff are really friendly. They are always playing good music too :)

I tried their chicken empanadas which were great! Not too oily yet deliciously crunchy! The meat was also perfectly seasoned. I would definitely return to try some of their other options.

Since I've moved to DC, I've been craving Dominican food! I'm coming from Boston and Dominican spots are very prevalent, so I ate Dominican food pretty regularly. I currently live in SE DC, so not very many Dominican spots near me. Most are across the city. I happened to be in the Columbia Heights neighborhood yesterday, and I remember a colleague telling me that would be a good neighborhood to check out Dominican food. She wasn't wrong. I pulled up google maps and noticed one within 5 minutes from me. I made my way over there! I will say there were a lot of food options when I arrived. This place is popular. In the half hour, I was there so many people came in and out. The line was moving kind of slow, though. There were only two women on the floor, but the food was worth the wait! I ordered arroz con gandules, pernil, platanos maduros, and a side of vegetables. They filled up my to go box, and the food was so good! The only point of criticism is that the food was a little too salty for me. I generally add salt to my food, but here they definitely season it a lot. If I lived closer to here, I'd def frequent this spot more, but at least, I know where to go whenever next I'm craving some Dominican food.

Really Dank Dominican food!! So delicious and flavorful. There's lots of options on the menu. I tried the pulled pork. I will definitely bring trying other menu items! Definitely give this place a try! You won't regret it.

The service & food here is always amazing but does anyone know if this restaurant is still open? I've tried calling for the last couple of days to put a catering order in and no one picked up the phone.…

Yes, they are open. They never answer the phone but they are open and they have another location called Mechos off of New York Ave.

Going to visit tonight. Where is the best place to park?

Right around the corner is a parking structure for Target. Best place to park and short walk to Los Hermanos.

I do appreciate I can build my plate to my preference. Pictured was the combination pork (braised & pulled) over rice and beans topped with gravy. Be mindful if you do not eat or desire a lot of rice to let the staff know; otherwise, you'll get a healthy serving of rice with your meal. To date I've eaten nearly every option they serve which are simply delicious. This restaurant is good to visit for all hours throughout the day and evening. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor patio spacing to accommodate groups and their customers. The music varies but I've heard my share of bachata played over the speakers. The owners and staff are committed to serving their customers. I do believe this is a family owned and operated establishment. For the first timers visiting you may order similar from behind the counter similar to chipotle or order made to order menu options such as the coconut cream fried red snapper over rice. They also have tasty empanadas. Overall 4.4 out of 5

It Really Brings A Piece Of The Island Right Here To Maryland Just Minutes From DC . Parking Is Limited, But There Are A Few Spaces Directly In Front Of The Restaurant. The Space Is Small & Intimate, But Very Welcoming. It's Only Been About A Year Since They Opened, But It Feels Like A Place That's Been Around Much Longer Because Of The Love And Energy Inside. The Customer Service Here Is Top Tier!! It's Owned By A Husband & Wife "The Medinas" They Are Truly Special. So Warm, So Kind, & So Genuine. The Sancocho is amazing. Its a hearty meat stew that in my family we call it the hang over soup or the feel better soup. Growing up if I had the flu or a cold my mama would whip this up. Their soup was good... but I wish it had tripe and more meat in the stew and a bit more seasonings. Would i order it again? Probably not. Mofongo. Something that I absolutely love.. It didn't taste fresh.. the chiacharrones ( fried pork cracklings) was not crispy :( The saving grace was their chicken guisado.. a very hearty chicken stew ... that was a chef kiss. The employees are great. But if your looking for delicious Mofongo.. ita in lower east side NYC..

Unfortunately, due to bad past experiences with mofongo from other places, I decided to skip the mofongo and go for a guisada (stew). Generally speaking the beef stew, which was served with beans and rice was decent. However, for my tastes, the stew seemed to be really greasy/fatty. I do not think that I ever had a guisado with so many fat droplets in the "soup". Also, I thought the beef was a bit tough/chewy for a stew; I was expecting the meat to be a bit more tender. While the stew was not horrible, I will say that I was a bit disappointed that I spent $20 on it. Since this is a Domincan restaurant, a little Spanish might go a long way. Overall, I thought the staff was nice. However, this appears to be a place where the staff knows a lot of the customers (or at least the Latino customers), so you might feel a bit like a persona non grata upon entry. However, they'll probably will warm up to you after a few minutes. While I somewhat enjoyed my stew, I really enjoyed my margaritas more. Since I'm still new to the area, I might check out some other Latin/Dominican restaurants before circling back around this restaurant.
