Last night in Oregon and decided to grab dinner at this family run restaurant, which was very good and tasty and the staff was great and service was terrific. We ordered a mix seafood bowl and the flavor and the seafood was delicious and tasty. We also ordered the Ceviche and it was very good and tasty with lots of shrimp, scallops, crab, onions and tomatoes. The grilled chicken was very good nothing I had before the spices and flavor was terrific! The chips and salsa were great it was complementary and the homemade salsa was really good! My husband + me + our adult daughter came here for anniversary + birthday dinner....we were treated very well. Celebration . We were surprised at the graciousness of our hostess! While Los Langostinos remains a busy restaurant and some of the food can be quite delicious, my recent experience was disappointing due to a noticeable lack of organization and attention to the overall dining experience. Throughout our visit, there were several issues involving service, order management, and the checkout process. There also appeared to be a lack of attention to our table, which made the experience feel disjointed and frustrating. While no restaurant is perfect, these issues combined to create an experience that fell below expectations. At the end of the meal, we respectfully shared our concerns regarding the lack of organization and service with another server and asked that the feedback be passed along to management. Rather than feeling that our concerns were acknowledged, the response felt dismissive, giving the impression that the feedback was not considered important. As paying customers who were attempting to provide constructive feedback, we expected a greater level of professionalism and interest in understanding our experience. What was most disappointing was not the issues themselves, but the apparent lack of concern for feedback intended to help improve the customer experience. Good customer service includes listening to customers, acknowledging concerns, and treating feedback as an opportunity for improvement. During our visit, we also observed other customers experiencing similar frustrations, which suggested that these concerns may not be isolated incidents. Based on previous visits, it appears that changes in management may have contributed to a decline in the quality of service and overall customer experience. While the restaurant continues to attract customers and has menu items worth enjoying, there seems to be a disconnect between customer service, operational consistency, and the value placed on customer feedback. I encourage customers to respectfully share feedback with the owner and staff when expectations are not met. Constructive feedback is one of the best tools for improvement, but it must also be received with a willingness to listen and improve. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to restore the level of service that customers deserve. read more

Went here with family out of town after seeing great reviews. We were expecting a nice sit down dinner but instead they had drunk karaoke that was so loud the waitress got most of our orders wrong and didn't bring many of the drinks we ordered and couple of entrees. One of the guys doing karaoke even had the audacity to stand at each table until they put money in his tip jar; he did this several times. After we finally asked if they could turn it down the music just a little, which they didn't, we got dirty looks, and the staff completely ignored our table. Several other family's were noticeably uneasy by all this and left. This place needs to figure out if they are a restaurant or a 'want to be night club', and stop soliciting money from tables for their drunk karaoke. What a terrible experience. read more

Tried this hidden Mexican restaurant near Coastal Ranch supply. Surprisingly large space with a huge varied menu including mexican fare, American and some itslian. . Good service from our hostess Mercedes. Enjoyed the Shrimp quesadillas. Large portions. But the turkey ham club was soggy and the cheddar cheese was probably american slices, so it was just so-so. Great fries. Tasty Cadilac margaritas. The one odd thing was the water. It had a really bad taste. Which is strange for Central Oregon. Maybe its well water? Soooooo.....we're torn. First off, Los Langostinos (The Prawns) is located in a strip mall in Redmond, Oregon. The location is peculiar. But one thing we've noticed when it comes to Mexican restaurants is that the location has ZERO to do with the quality of food. Sometimes the worse the location, the better the experience. We went for date night hoping to have a solid Mexican food experience. We walk in and the waitress, is about as kind and accommodating as you can be. A real gem. We were seated at a table against the wall; no biggie. There are only tables, no booths. The restaurant alone feels mind map, almost like the my decorated it their self. Nothing really made sense. All very cold and stark and dark. The waitress was very attentive. She got us chips and salads and our menus. I feel like a Mexican restaurant can almost be judged by the 'chips and salsa' experience. The chips were bland and the salsa was warm. Not a deal breaker, but... We each ordered a margarita. One perfect margarita and one fresh margarita. The margaritas were HUGE! Unfortunately they were flavorless and waaay too sweet. Still we weren't giving up. The restaurant is called The Prawn because it focuses on seafood. There were a few other options but not many. Again we love seafood and we knew it the restaurant was focused around seafood, but it was literally JUST seafood. . I ordered the ceviche and my wife ordered the fajitas. The Fajitas - Tons of meat and the portion size was huge. One word describes them, bland and tasteless. Sorry, that was two words. It was odd, they didn't even taste Mexican, just kinda eh. Ceviche - Tons of seafood. No complaints about the portion size. There were grilled prawns that sat on top and tons of other seafood. But, it was tasteless. I can't explain it. It was limey, and fresh but just kind of 'ok'. It also came with the world's largest oyster. It was so big I had to cut it into four pieces (see picture). In the end, I think the chips and salsa surmised it for us. It was the metaphor for the experience to be had. Just ok. Im sorry, we really wanted to like this place. The people were kind and attentive and helpful. It's almost like it's owned by people with access to fresh seafood and want to own a restaurant. The idea is great, the execution feels flat. Holy moly, this place is amazing!!! Can't express how glad I am to have found a Mexican seafood spot in Central Oregon. I got the Aquachile as a meal, and let me tell you, it was FIRE SO fresh, SO flavorful and exactly what I have been craving. My husband is not a seafood guy, so he got a sampler plate with carne asada, chicken, cactus, etc and he was blown away. They even had an awesome kids menu for our toddler. A close Mexican friend recommended this restaurant , and several people rave about it on Yelp. We love Mexican food, but Los Langostinos is not for us. Granted, the portions are huge, and our server was nice and helpful. The menu was fairly extensive and the prices were reasonable, but many popular Mexican dishes were missing. If you love authentic ceviche that is fresh and made with simple ingredients and artisan cocktails created with traditional Mexican flair, you need to visit Los Langostinos. You have to be watching for their somewhat obscure spot on highway 97 in Redmond, but when you get there, you'll find plenty of seating in an open industrial setting with super sweet and attentive staff. As said, the ceviche was incredible, but the entrees of halibut and Cameron de Coco, were equally delicious. Somehow, we managed to share a plate of churros and ice cream after all of that wonderful food, and the plate was cleared. This was our first visit to Los Langostinos. We had read the reviews and they weren't too bad most were pretty good. But, we can say that some of the others were true as well! I ordered the Halibut and my wife the Shrimp Tacos. The halibut was very good but, could have had more veggies. Seemed a bit light on the serving size! The Tacos were not that great! She said there wasn't much flavor, and the shrimp and breading needed some sort of seasoning. She had some of the Mango salsa, and it didn't have any Mango flavor. She wasn't pleased and said overall the meal was bland and virtually tasteless. Waitstaff seemed to be a little non-attentive for not being that busy! We got our food, and nobody came to check on us, and see if there may have been any issues or if we needed refills. I had to literally flag one of the other waitresses down to get a beverage refill! I watched our waitress check on the other tables and assist them but, not check on us! Very disappointing since looking at other reviews on Yelp and Google had the same issue! We will not give up on this place yet but, hopefully the next time it will be more pleasant! But, I really hope they find their way to actually correct these issues, because we would like to be able to enjoy the meal and give you a 5 star rating! It's up to you! read more

By far worst experience I've ever endured at a restaurant. When first entering no one came to sit me and my family down for dinner so we kind of just went and sat at a table, after a few minutes an amazing young american guy greeted us with some chips, salsa, and waters (mind the fact this young american guy was the only good part about our dinner). After about 15 minutes of eating chips and salsa a woman quickly came over to ask to take our orders; note: me and my family were not yet ready to order yet. She insisted and rushed to take our order and when asked for reccomendations of popular plates she rudely said "why don't you just look over the menu I don't know what you like! I have a lot of other customers to serve" if that's the case she should learn how to organize herself, make sure each customer has the same experience all around, and always make anyone and everyone feel welcome to a restaurant because that is what we all go out to a restaurant for dinner. Am I right? Next, my Mother ordered a michelada which I used to study a little of mixology and I don't think a michelada should come a quarter of the way empty apart from that it tasted as if someone poured half a mug of clamato and threw a remaining beer to fill the rest of the mug priced at 12-15 dollars if I'm not wrong. When we asked the same woman if we could get a replacement michelada or just a regular beer she said she couldn't exchange it. After asking her to replace our drink she made us wait another half hour for our food and even forgot about bringing the beer. Once the food came out it was okay as we were wanting to start to eat, no tostadas with the aguachile, no utensils, no napkins, no more offers for drinks, nothing we simply were ignored the rest of the night until we asked for our bill. It doesn't matter how good the food is if the service is not good the whole experience is not good. It really tainted my experience to have to have delt with this last night as it was recommended by my mother as a new fancy seafood restaurant in Redmond,OR never again returning to this place. read more

Let me start by saying the staff is very friendly. The food was meh! I ordered fish tacos. The slaw was from a bag like you get at Safeway. I wish we had a good first experience. The food was amazing! But I'm worried about our servers there. Maybe the waitresses were overwhelmed with the four tables, but one of the waitresses became agitated that we couldn't figure out what we wanted right away. I felt super bad and apologized for the three times she had to come back to us, however she didn't give us much time to figure out what we want. There are so many amazing looking dishes, we struggled! And after we got our food, we were kind of left on our own, and as a few regulars came in, and the tables before us cleared out, we began to wonder if we were forgotten. We went to the front and asked if we could get our check. Our server said "I am so sorry, you sat so far away we can't see you, also it's so busy in here." I'm not sure what was happening for them today, but I hope that if they change anything, it's being gracious to those who are just trying to learn the menue and explore food in Central Oregon.
