Every aspect was bad from the food, the service, even the dirtiness of the place. Our waiter could barely understand us and three of the four dishes were messed up, the drinks were messed up. They forgot our tortillas. We spent over $250 eating there and it was the worst experience I've had in probably 10 years eating out. Mexican Pork Carnitas was so dried out I almost choked on a piece trying to swallow it. Wasn't what I was expecting as it had no flavor, completely overcooked and bland rice and beans. Worst Mexican food ever. Besides that they screwed up both our orders. He ordered a chicken burrito and got steak. I ordered corn tortillas, no salsa, pico or guacamole and they gave me flour and everything I asked to hold please. Disappointed and won't be back. read more

First off, this is a traditional Mexican Restaurant. Do not compare it's menu with Diego's or Carneval. You will find all of the typical menu items and more. The five stars is for the quality of those items and the more, the more being very fresh seafood. I had the 7 mares soup. My wife had the more traditional tres amigos. The broth in the 7 mares was perfectly spiced and the seafood was diverse and perfectly cooked. The crab body and legs were cut for easy access to the meat. The many scallops were surprisingly good. And the shrimp huge. The tres amigos was of course, way too much food for my wife to eat. It ended up being three meals. The restaurant was far bigger than Diego's or Carneval or Xalisco's, so it's probably easier to get in on a Friday night.,.. at least until it's discovered. I have been hoping to find a restaurant like Rincon Azteca in Redmond. We entered from a parking lot through the backdoor and passed through the kitchen to the dining room. The restaurant was nearly empty on this Tuesday evening. At a table, near the bar, was a group of men wearing orange t-shirts like those worn by hard working people. They were clearly enjoying themselves. We found a comfortable booth and settled in for a nice meal. While perusing the menu, we enjoyed the warm chips, spicy salsa, and cooling bean dip. Warning: the sangria is dangerous. It is so good that you can be fooled into thinking that it is a flavorful fruit drink and drink too much. My wife commented that her beef enchilada, rice, and beans was among that best that she had enjoyed in Redmond. My daughter's Grande Burrito was so large that she took much of it home for another meal. My 3 Amigos was the best Chili Colorado and Chili Verde that I have eaten in a long time. It reminded me of eating in a long-gone family-owned Mexican Restaurant in Sunnyvale CA. A shout out to Jose for his excellent and humorous service. There are several very good Mexican Restaurants in Redmond; however, in my opinion, Rincon Azteca is the best. read more

The best Mexican food we have had in a while. We are from California and this place is better than any of the Mexican restaurants over there. Service was great. Atmosphere was nice, not a lot of people but sometimes that's better. Definitely recommend the burrito de asada, the enchiladas and the shredded beef taquitos rancheros. Although Redmond has many Mexican food options this one has won us over with its traditional food. The servers are all very friendly and the ambiance makes you feel like you're at a family style restaurant. The menu is great! I'm a huge fan of their Enchiladas, Molé, and Carne Asada tacos. Everything we've ordered has been great and I'm always looking at the menu to think about what I'm going to try the next time we come in. This has become our go to Mexican food restaurant in Redmond and we will certainly be returning many times. read more

Don't come here if you are looking for flavorless, spice less food. Also I think they have the best margaritas in Redmond hands down. Some of the best Mexican in the area. The sauces are basic but tasty. Their Cadillac marg is better than most. The beans are great with a yummy smokey flavor. I like the R. We've been twice. Both times have been at non-peak hours, and service has been a little bit slow but quite pleasant staff. Good food and large portions at a reasonable price consistent with similar restaurants in the area. The restaurant is comfortable with plenty of seating and quiet dining. I'm looking forward to trying their seafood Molcajete, and I will review them again after that. If you are in downtown Redmond and want to sit down in a nice restaurant and have a family style meal, especially with children or a large group, you should check them out. I wanted to like this place ... I enjoy downtown Redmond, I am very partial to non-chain restaurants, and I love Mexican food. But this restaurant was disappointing. The interior is much improved from the previous Mexican restaurant that occupied this space. The furniture and art is all new and very bright/festive. The service was both friendly and accommodating; the only hitch was that we had to too frequently ask for things that should have been done without asking (more chips/salsa, extra napkins, the check). The menu is way too ambitious - there are five pages packed full of items. why not shrink the menu to three pages and do those things really well? And I have serious issues with the drink menu. Why do so many restaurants insist on only bringing one drink menu to the table? And why (WHY?!?!?) do so many restaurants have drink menus without prices! And why do so many restaurants make you ask about happy hour specials? Anyway, there is a happy hour at Rincon Azteca but I couldn't tell you what all it includes because there is nothing on the menu and no signage. The waiter said that the house margarita is a happy hour special. Of course, the house margarita doesn't even appear on the drink menu and the way it was described by the waiter it sounded like the swill that is served at far too many Mexican restaurants. Here's a tip - put ALL of your drinks on happy hour special. You can afford it - you really can. And if you can't then your restaurant has significant structural issues that need addressing. The margaritas we ordered were very good but very expensive - we paid $42.75 for three margaritas with the best one (and the most expensive one) being the Azteca (it was really good). The food was meh. The chips are just OK, but the salsa is better. The chips are also served with beans, which were very good. My wife ordered chicken fajitas ($21.95) and said they were good. I ordered two chicken tacos with rice and beans. The rice and beans were good but the chicken tacos were some of the worst I've ever had. Why? Store-bought hard shell tacos should be banned rom restaurants. And the quantity of the chicken in the tacos was really miniscule. For better Mexican in Redmond I'd go to any of the taco shops (there is one about two doors down from Rincon Azteca; there is Rigoberto's on 5th; and there is one on 97; probably others). read more

I experienced a wonderful Mexican food meal. We walked into Rincon Azteca on Sixth Street in Redmond, and we were greeted by a beautiful, friendly atmosphere. The tables are glazed with Mexican artistry. The booths are large and comfortable. The bar area is located toward the restaurant's rear and nicely decorated. They have a nice assortment of margaritas and an alcoholic menu. As for the menu, WOW!! A vast Mexican food menu. The Mexican carnitas did not disappoint--a significant portion garnished with guacamole and pico de Gallo. My friend ordered a Chile Relleno Burrito, and it was a savory size and yummy. We have enjoyed the other Mexican eateries on 6th Street, but we are delighted to add another fine-quality restaurant to our go-to list. read more

My husband and I went for happy hour Friday. I had the Tres amigos, and found the two meat dishes. Excellent. The chili Reno was good, as good as anywhere else in town. That made up three meals ultimately. Husband ordered the seafood soup, and I'll get that next time! (I liked it better than los Langostinos version.) They have Molcajete and they have seafood Molcajete! The latter is $35 and I didn't order it because I'm sure I couldn't begin to eat it all.
