My family and I moved to the area about a year ago and have found Los Mariachis to be our favorite dine-in place in town. Fantastic food, generous portions, reasonable prices, clean dining rooms, fun atmosphere, and the service is ALWAYS good. The staff has been helpful, kind, generous, and friendly consistently through many visits. And we have three kids 5 and under, so we're likely not the "ideal" customers for any restaurant. We're from LA, so we like our Mexican food. After a trip to the Pacific NorthWest, where good mexican food is Taco Bell, we were dying for real good Mexican as we passed through this town. It could always go either way on places like this, but we were up for the adventure. It turned out that they had great service and great food. Chile relleno Burrito was amazing. The chile relleno was fluffy and tasted perfect. The rice, the beans, the chips, the salsa, everything was amazing. Enough spice to make it good, but not too much. The texture of the beans was perfect. There was not one thing wrong with the food that we got here. It got busy for lunch and was a little loud, but I understand why so many people were here. I'm lucky enough to live here and we probably eat at Los Mariachis about once a week-every 10 days on average, and that's for the last nearly 10 years. For about the same price as fast food, you can get a far, far better and tastier meal here, and staff is very accommodating to your preferences. We've tried the other Mexican restaurants in town but always have preferred this one -- for the price, for the salsa (just hand me a spoon), for the selection, it beats them all. Our favorites: nachos deluxe, taco salad with grilled chicken ($1 extra but worth it), mandilon plate (we always end up taking some home and using it in a killer breakfast omelet), trio enchiladas. And the Mexican omelet is fabulous -- you can get it anytime but will pay $1 more if you order during non-breakfast hours. The Grande Burrito or Chimichanga is HUGE: you'll definitely take part of it home (or end up with a big tummyache). When you celebrate a birthday, you get sung to and also a free dessert. They make it fun! We've never had a bad meal here -- in nearly 10 years. read more

Straight-forward Mexican food. I had the 3 enchiladas platter (2 beef, 1 chicken) and they were solid. My wife had fish tacos. One kid had tacquitos, the other had a grilled cheese and fries. Everything was tasty -- the service was very good. I rarely eat out. My strict diet allows a maximum of one off meal per week- and if I were to go out this is one of the best places in an otherwise horribly messed up town. Los Mariachis is about 30 miles from my house or if we take the motorcycle, we can stretch it out to 50, we try to visit at least once a month, if not more... Our standard order is their Molcajete...You can have red, green or Diablo sauce, seafood, chicken, beef or a combination... It is served in a stone bowl, with sides of rice, beans and tortilla shells...my wife and I share the meal and have leftovers (which is incredible, because I am an eater)...It is DELICIOUS!!! Driving through Red Bluff and thought we would get some food. Los Mariachis had good reviews so we thought we would give it a try. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID!! Service was great, salsa bar had a good variety and the food was AWESOME!! I had the macho burrito with Carne Asada and it was unbelievable!! My wife had fish tacos ala carte, one son had the quesadilla with Carne asada and my other son had the 3 item plate with two tacos and taquitos. All of them loved their choices! My girlfriend and i stopped by on our drive back to la. We both ordered the chilaquiles in salsa verde, they come with beans. I asked if i could get the beans with chorizo and they were happy to do it. The food was GREAT! Nuff said. It you never had chorizo with beans then please do your palate a favor and try it. All in all great choice when it could have just been easier to go to a fast food joint considering the drive back on the 5 is filled with then. Rice was a tad dry, however the refried beans more than up for it. yum. yum. Enchiladas were moist and cheesy stuffed to the max w/shredded chicken in red sauce. We were wraned ahead of tm that portions were overwhelmingly large as we're like stick figures, so, we're super smart to order one plate and split. My husband was less impressed with his chile verde burrito because it didn't have enough verde sauce to suit him (we later discovered it at the salsa bar). Big portions. Los Mariachi's has very good service every single time I have been there which has been periodically for the last six years. The food is also very good but I usually have the chile verde either in a burrito or as a dinner plate. My son has been having his birthday dinners there since he was 5 years old in which they always take a picture of him in a sombrero having a scoop of fried ice cream with whip cream and birthday candles. Everything we had was absolutely delicious especially the sopas!!! One of us had a burrito that was giant, and delicious and like I said the person with the sopas couldn't eat them both and couldn't get over how good they were. I had the carnitas . . . the best I've ever had and being from Sonoma County that's saying a lot!!! Friendly service. Good menu selections. I asked for nothing spicy and was told none was on my order of beef taco and cheese enchilada. The red sauce on the enchilada was mildly spicy but more than I wanted. I asked for sour cream to help. The slice of carrot must have been habonera pickled. I nearly had an attack! No one had said to me; after I specifically stated no spicy. Part of my taco was burned . The bathroom was old, left something to be desired and no paper towels or dryer. Went there for lunch after driving back from Sacramento. Was seated, ordered drinks and was brought chips and salsa. Salsa was very mild, not much flavor. We ordered our food after a kinda long wait, and then waited over an hour for our food. We finally walked up to the waitress and ask for our amount for drinks as we were leaving, waited too long. She never said sorry, you food will be here soon, nothing except no charge for the drinks. If we only wanted drinks we would have driven through a fast food. Came home without lunch and will not be going back there again. I had a friend tell me they had the same experience there and never went back. read more

My family loves this restaurant. My 3 year old requests it every time we go out to eat. We eat here a couple times a month...and have since we moved to Red Bluff 4 years ago. Reasonably priced - good food, friendly staff. They are always checking to see how it's going or if you need anything. Love the molcejete - delicious tomato/onion soup served with rice, beans & tortillas. (I get it w/o mushrooms) Carnitas is wonderful here- we usually order it crispy. Carnitas fajitas for 2 is great as well. Flautus -- wonderful :) Portions are large here -- salsa is good -- love the salsa bar with the pickled spicy carrots. They are kid friendly --my kids LOVE their beans...even the rancho beans. Highly recommend this restaurant. Parking is fine you can usually park close by -- you may have to parallel park.
