We were from out of town and wanted some Hispanic food. The place was not busy at all but I saw a few takeouts. The food was delicious, but I had expected the quesabirria to have more flavors in it. Also, It was my first time trying it. The server was a young man who was very patient and enlightened us about the ingredients. Al Pastor street taco was FIRE - sooo good! The carnitas was delicious too, but pastor was definitely my favorite. Also, they made us the freshest strawberry margaritas from scratch - we heard them make it and great tequila ratio. The decor is festive and fun, really enjoyed our visit! read more

What a great taco spot! I stopped here after working up an appetite shopping at the nearby Gilroy outlets and I'm so glad I did! The interior has such a fun theme and is bright and colorful, as well as clean. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly employee who told me I could sit wherever I wanted. After about a minute, he came by with water and chips. He kept our drinks full for the entire meal, and remained friendly throughout every interaction. And then there's the actual food!! I can be pretty picky but this place knocked my socks off! I will 100% be making up a reason why I need to return to Gilroy so I can come back here. read more

I mainly go on their weekdays deals, for example, Monday the have $1 street tacos, which in todays inflation and greed, it's a solid deal. Food is your basics, not amazing but not bad. This was the best Mexican meal I've had in years. Bacon wrapped shrimp. Came with the standard rice and beans but a choice of salad or fries. I liked the onions and Ciliento coming as a side dish. The decor is what I would have expected in a restaurant in Mexico. Sturdy. The Mexican motif was carried off very well with lovely scenes on the chairs. I was the only gringo in the place - that means that the local Mexican people favor this restaurant. The source served with the chips had a nice bite, not too hot but not bland. Top notch house made tortillas and great refried beans. The large platters reflect market prices (close to $20 for a big dinner with sides) but the street tacos are a bargain @$2.75. Ordered from DoorDash, there was a 20% off deal which made me choose this place over other taquerias. This is my first time trying them and I am pretty impressed. I got the quesabirrias, tacos de pastor, and horchata. Quesabirrias: 4 quesabirrias, onions, lime, salsa, and a sizable side of consume. All for $14, which is significantly cheaper than other places. The flavor was good, the cheese was melty, the taco was crispy, it was everything I expect from a quesabirria. This is going to be my go to place when I am craving them. 5/5 Tacos de pastor: the flavor of the pastor is great. The tacos were the small street taco size, so in my opinion for $2.50 they are not as good of a deal. The salsa that came on top was good, but I wish it came with onions as well. Overall 4/5 Horchata: it's good, a tad bit grainy but it's still enjoyable. It was $3 for a medium, but the medium is huge! I've been charged $6 for an horchata of similar size elsewhere. What a cute little restaurant! Driving back to Southern California from the bay area, stopped in Gilroy for the outlets. Googled for good Mexican food, and this place was number 1. 4.5 stars it said. Definitely deserves that. I'd have given it a solid 5 if that hadn't forgotten the avocado on my burrito. But........ to be honest, other than paying for it and not getting it... it really didn't need it. I got the chili verde burrito and it was delicious. Not overly spicy (too bad because I loooove spicy) but fun of flavor. I'm picky about chili Verde, so I was pleasantly surprised. The green salsa i got the side was AWESOME. Spicy and flavorful. QuesaBirria. That's all you have to remember. I ordered the QuesaBirria for lunch today through DoorDash & I was blown away. They weren't small but they weren't huge. They were the perfect size. The cheese to meat ratio was great as well. Sometimes you get a taco or quesadilla w/too much cheese or not enough. These were perfect. The consume was great as well. Sat September 3rd, 2022 @ 1:30pm ZERO STARTS When we arrived we were greeted and sat at table #9 table of 5ppl (3 kids, 2 adults) Ordered 5 jarritos, quesabirrias with consomé, super burrito w/carnitas & lengua, quesadilla & quesatacos. After 30 min, food arrived. Quesabirrias were good but consomé was a bland-watery soup with cold lard/fat. Hubby ordered the super burrito; Carnitas were BLAND looked and tasted like boiled pork, the lengua was SLIMY and STINKY, meat old and BAD! Tacos and quesadillas were super GREASY and BLAND and they put no salsa. Service was VERY VERY SLOW. I saw 2 waitresses and 3 tables in the dinning room. Not busy at all. Food arrived but No utensils. I had to flag down another waitress because our waitress vanished for 10min, show this lady called "Maribel" about the stinky beef tounge (lengua) and no apologies no nothing, just took the plate away. Waited and waited for something to happen and no one came. Finally waitress #1 returned, Asked for the check and it took her HOURS to bring. I mentioned about the "bad burrito" and she only replayed "I know, it was removed from your bill" ‍ QUESABIRRIAS were good but service and other food MEDIOCRE!!! Micheladas on point! Haven't had one that good in a while! Molcajete a tu gusto tambien! Everything was very very good. The tacos de tortilla a mano bring you back to your childhood like that scene in the movie ratatouille. This past year I was sad to find the place closed. I hadn't realized they were just remodeling and now open & expanded with more a festive atmosphere to dine in than before. I ended up ordering my usual- this time tacos and quesadilla. I still want to try all the seafood dishes they offer and will dine in for that soon. They offer handmade tortillas tacos now as well. Love the new remodel. Very colorful and inviting. We went at 2:30 pm on a Friday, and the place was empty. There were quite a few to go orders. We had the chicken chimichanga, super burrito and chicken enchiladas. All were very tasty, and the service was great. Lettuce does not belong in a burrito. Unfortunately that's how they make their supper burritos, which coincidently doesn't have guacamole in it. Their carnitas was just roasted pork, mediocre at best. Definitely not real carnitas. Last of all the horchata was sickeningly sweet. This place is a strong pass. read more
