I have been here several times out of convenience, and it has gotten progressively worse every time. I felt robbed after my last visit. 19.00 for a beer and a bowl of soup- ridiculous. I chose the tortilla soup because it was freezing cold in the bar area , and it sounded good. The soup was bland , boring and had limited ingredients. I had to order a side of avocado just to make it interesting to eat. The menu itself is tired and outdated. The food is mediocre and overpriced . In fact ,almost everything is over 20.00 now. I used to come here for the happy hour appetizers , and to watch a game. With food this bad, I don't think I'll even do that anymore. The only thing saving this place from one star is the friendly staff and good chips and salsa. read more

La hacienda is one of my go to Mexican restaurant in the area. The food and service is consistent in quality. I've been here numerous times and they do offer special meal options depending on the day. On Sunday they offered quesabirria tacos, they were delicious. They put a lot of meat which is my personal preference. The consume was nicely flavored as well and comes with it. The menudeo was delicious as well. There are different options of beans, they offer however they are all so delicious. My normal order is the enchiladas verdes and you could never go wrong with them. The serving sizes are pretty large. In addition, they have a great kids menu for those with picky eaters. The services is good. Our server, Cesar, is the best server here and is very attentive to the table and is great at answering any questions you may have. This place is pretty spacious and they play music. They have different seating options which the host will offer. I'm not sure why the reviews are so horrible. It's never been my experience here. I recommend trying the place out if you're in the mood for some good Mexican food. read more

First time eating at LaHacienda in Gilroy and won't be going back. The food was very bland and the meat in the Chili Colorado was tough and very dark in color. This was quite a disappointment considering La Hacienda in Morgan Hill is one of my favorite restaurants. There was such a difference between the two restaurants. I went to the one in Morgan Hill 2 days later and again say it's one of my favorite restaurant! Gilroy location has a lot of ground to cover to live up to the other location. read more

Horrible, Horrible service. No wonder it was no one there. We had a restaurant.com coupon for $15 off and the guy at the front acted like it was $100. Saying it needed the logo when there is only one La Hacienda restaurant on the app. They brought our food out and that was the last time we saw them. We waved him down and he acknowledged but never came back with the salsa we asked for. No refills on our drinks and they got my order wrong. I asked for a beef enchilada and they brought a taco. I had them remove it and didn't use the coupon. I returned it on the restaurant.com app. We won't be returning. I don't even rate 1 star but that was the only option. read more

You can never go wrong with La Hacienda. My grandma, mom, and I have been coming here for decades, our go-to. The food/portions have always been consistent, and delicious. It's flavorful, contains everything it said it would, doesn't miss out, and is a complete meal for a reasonable price. They have never been too expensive they have been loyal to customers for years. The ambiance is great. Music, if not, live music of a sole performer or a band. It's lively and engaging, people are nice and friendly. The drinks are good. 10/10 place would recommend, and I will be taking my kids here too most likely one day read more

Service was terrible I've should have known when the server came to us that we weren't going to get good service I've had him a few times before and had bad service. not only me but a lot of my family and friends say the same thing his name is Alfredo. Not only bad service the food was cold and bland, to spend that much money was terrible. Found this place driving by. There's a lot more inside than you can see from the outside. They have an old fashioned Mexican decor and a large bar and seating area. The food was good with a great use of spices and flavor. The house red salsa served with the chips is my favorite kind that has some heat. The carne asada tacos were delicious with soft, tasty tortillas. The camaromes diablo was also tasty with a flavorful red sauce. Overall it's a great restaurant in the area. Went to la hacienda in Gilroy to celebrate a school graduation. We brought a small cake and asked the waitress to hold it for a surprise. when we were ready for the cake she brought it to us in the box with a few plates there was only 7 of us. when we got the bill they charged us a 25 dollar pastry fee. when we refused to pay the fee they refused to take it off our bill. We were not told of this fee up front and it was not noted anywhere. the owner was very dismissive and we said the bill would be paid minus the 25 or the police could be called. the food was just fair and service was acceptable we will not return. read more

La Hacienda has been consistently one of our favorite restaurants here in town. We started Gianna's birthday festivities Friday night and it did not disappoint. My inlaws were here in town and I was proud to bring them here. Food was amazing, music was fun and service was great. I visited on 11/22/25 with my sister, cousin, and 90 year old aunt. The food was fine, waiter was very helpful and friendly, as were the hostesses. The gentlemen who initially seated us appeated to be management, likely the restaurant manager. We were seated in a booth but it was too low for the table to be comfortable. My aunt asked to move and we were moved to a table. As she is 90, she then asked if there could be more light as she has trouble seeing, particularly in low light. at this point it seems the manager felt she was being difficult and became loud and sarcastic, asking 'you want us to start a fire?'. not necessary and made us uncomfortable. This is a beautiful restaurant with good food and great music playing in the background. The atmosphere can get quite loud but it's a good kind of loud due to live music. I think people would have a great time coming here even if it's just for cocktails. They have a pretty nice bar with Mexican decor that give it a cantina feeling. I stopped this afternoon looking for a place to eat. Although I live local, this was my first time stopping by. I walked in, and stood at the front, by the sign that says, "please wait to be seated". I waited for around 5 minutes, yet nobody noticed me or acknowledged me. After realizing that I wasn't going to be noticed, I peaked around the corner to see if I can spot an employee to order something. It was basically a ghost town on mute. I walked out slowly giving a last chance to be noticed, but that never came either. Disappointing. I've given this restaurant three tries now, and it just never seems to get any better. We've had the same server this last time. Not the most friendly, and always seems annoyed. This last time we went, we went specifically for happy hour. In order to be able to order off the happy hour menu, you have to sit in the bar. They were somewhat busy, and there were some drunk ladies- so it was really loud inside the restaurant. We asked to see the happy hour menu, they didn't have one printed or posted anywhere. The server will list it off to you, which makes it difficult A because it's loud, B because you can't see the prices and C because he rushes through so you barely can hear and understand what he's saying. Mind you there were a whole bunch of people of a lighter shade getting what seemed like top tier service. I will never ever go back here. We enjoyed lunch on Tuesday using a "Taco Tuesday" promotion we received in the mail. The food and service was good BUT when we asked the waiter to confirm the pricing of the promotion, he said no we don't honor the coupon, after pushing back, he said we will honor BUT we had to order drinks which is NOT noted on the promo. When the waiter presented the bill, he said the promo is only valid Monday through Thursday BUT that is NOT noted on the promo. If it was not for the quality of the food, and the otherwise good service, we would never patronize a restaurant which places PROMO ADDS, and then tries not to honor them (bait and switch). I love this restaurant. It's amazing. Don't give me wrong. I've gone there several times all it took. Was this one time for me to not want to go back there. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday, and I know that they take you a sombrero, and they seeing you happy birthday. I told our waitress that it was his birthday and she said OK. Cool and then didn't do anything about it at the end. I didn't know I had to ask for that to happen. I've gone there many times for birthdays for his and mine, and I've never had to ask for that to happen. It was very unfortunate and saddening that that didn't happen. If I knew that we weren't going to get that experience. We would've gone somewhere else that would have done that for him. Since we had both gone there for birthdays prior. We were both expecting that little mini celebration to happen and it didn't please next time someone tells you that it's their loved ones or their birthday.
