This place is amazing. I always come to this restaurant for brunch whenever I'm in Mexico or nearby…read moreTJ, I love coming back and when I do I always make sure to get the chilaquiles I loveeee the ribeye chilaquiles, the ribeye is packed with flavor, the chilaquiles are well cooked and amazing salsa, the drink menu is perfect I always like having a good amount of options. The price for the food and the drinks is unbeatable for how good the food and drinks are. The service is spectacular they're always attentive and make sure everything is going just fine, as for the atmosphere and overall restaurant vibe it's very calm with a nice elegant feel to it even tho it's a small eating area, the presentation of food and drinks is amazing I love the theme they're going with, and not to mention you're also near by the beach I absolutely love this place and I always keep coming back, if you're looking for a lowkey brunch spot with amazing food, drinks, and service this is the spot. Don't skip it !!

Good: *Waiter and host was very courteous and professional…read moreand kind. *I like how they put the check inside a mini book of questions to ask Saint Michael. *The who we had was good the French toast was great. The omelette with frijoles and potatoes was great. *The mango mimosas were good. *The café de Olla was natural. It was average. *They gave you a piece of pumpkin bread before you eat while you're waiting for your food. *The restaurant was clean with a small Catholic feel to it. *Parking outside was OK. Bad: * Very small café not good for large group parties. * A bit more pricey for the quality of food and drinks. * They prefer USD dollars or card. Conclusions: Due to the great services we were provided by the waiter, and if we're ever back in La Playas for breakfast or brunch, we would go back to San Miguel restaurant. I will highly recommend you try it.

I loved this place! It is a very cute coffee shop and definitely is much more modern than most…read moreplaces in Mexico. It's minimalist architecture gives it a very hip & artsy vibe. They had seating options inside and outside from couches to lounge on to vintage door table sets to do work at. Their menu consists of various hot/iced teas & coffees, pastries & other baked goods, waffles, acai bowls, and many more! Everything here is fairly priced compared to shops like these in the States. I'm not sure if it is on the higher end of the spectrum for Mexico though. I ordered the Nutella latte with almondmilk as a dairy-free option. It was a hot coffee drink which I thought was OKAY. It just tasted like regular coffee with a few dollops of nutella thrown in there that did not really mix or melt in well. It was not a bad drink, just thought it would have had a more Nutella taste to the entire thing. The real reason I gave this place five stars is for the Waffle con Fruta. It's presentation was beautiful and it tasted better than it looked! Definitely would recommend this place simply for this!

I order a chicken bagel sandwich and it was great. I got it to go and it came out in a nice little box with the sandwich tied up with a string. Was that necessary, no but the attention to detail was great and it made it look even cooler. I work down the street from here and it's starting to be my quick grab and go coffee shop. I will try their breakfast food next. Oh the one thing I didn't like but it's not a really big deal is, no WiFi.

The Waffle Spot is truly a San Diego hidden gem! This place has been around for as long as I can…read moreremember, I love the nostalgic feel as soon as you park next to Sir Waffleot! It's good to see that they appear to be reviving their image and going stronger than ever. Thanks to their recent activity on social media I feel that more locals are starting to revisit this Mission Valley gem...not just tourists who happen to be staying at The Kings Inn hotel they're connected to. They now offer lunch and dinner (not just at the Amigo Spot next door--who now has a happy hour at 4:00, which is awesome), we will definitely return to try that out next time! Their breakfast here is solid and better than ever! You can't go wrong with their famous churro waffle, which is sinfully delicious! My eggs were cooked perfectly and our sausage links were plump and flavorful. Their kids menu is great as well, any item for $9.95 makes it easy and a definite win no matter what your kiddos choose. Service was warm and welcoming. Both our server and busser were friendly and attentive as well. My son was excited when he recognized the busser from the last time we were here (last summer); when the nice gentleman acknowledged my son he said to me, "See mama, I remembered he was so nice, like last time." Keep up the good work Waffle Spot staff and social media team...you're doing it right! We will definitely be back soon and reminding our friends and family not to sleep on the Mission Valley gem!
