We ordered over the phone - 2 chorizo breakfast burritos, one w/o potatoes. My hubs asked for the total and were told it was $17 plus some change. We figured $8/burrito + tax. My husband went to pick it up for us and I asked him to get some chips too while he was there. When he came home, he told me they charge for chips now. I don't remember them charging for chips before. Is it new? So our total was $19 and change. For $2 extra, their chips didn't taste fresh and lacked salt. The salsa that came w/it was good though. They didn't mark the burrito that had potatoes or no potatoes. Also, before rolling up the burrito in foil, they didn't pre-cut them in half for us. If you want some authentic Mexican food this is your place. Everything we've ordered here is delicious although my favorite is the Shrimp wrapped in bacon plate that comes with rice beans and a small salad. Parking is minimal but close, and the place is pretty small, but this is one hole in the wall you must frequent. Dont walk, run! Los Potros is my go to for Mexican food here in Tracy and has been since I've lived here. The staff is warm, welcoming and always a positive experience. I mostly take out on doordash nowadays but I call in to make changes to my order and they are friendly and very accommodating. I speak to the same woman and she is a sweetheart. I can honestly say I've never had my order messed up here. Also I cant recall a bad meal either. My go to is the wet burrito (no sour cream, extra gravy lol) while my wife enjoys their birria. My review is based on their tacos only. Los Porto's recently moved here within the last year or so. The restaurant is nice and clean. The staff are always a pleasure to deal with and food is always prepared in a timely manner. The street tacos are your typical size tacos. They put good size portions in the tacos and they are really tasty. They also have a cool salsa bar. The salsa bar has a bunch of squeeze bottles, which makes it convenient for the customer to add salsa to every bite. Their prices are extremely competitive for the quality of food they provide. Their burritos are as much as $4 cheaper and the tacos .75 cents cheaper than some other places in town. I recommend this place if you haven't tried it! read more

Los Potros is a solid Mexican restaurant with a good variety on their menu. The menu prices are a little high. To feed 3 adults and one child it came to roughly $50 which seemed high to me considering there were no beverages and it was take-out only. Food - I had the chile verde which I found to be pretty good. The amount of pork they gave was a little underwhelming, but it was flavorful and the homemade corn tortillas they gave were very good. Rice and beans were both good so overall I enjoyed my meal. My daughter enjoyed her meal and the others enjoyed theirs too so overall I'd give the food a solid 4-4.5 stars. Definitely not the best we've ever had, but way above average too. Service - Not much can be said about the service. They were doing take-out only. We called in our order and I didn't have to wait very long to get my food. They were very busy between food delivery services, pickup orders and people ordering at the restaurant. The ladies were quite friendly so I'd say overall service was good. My only real gripe about Los Potros is it's a little pricey for what you get. Paying $14 for a meager portion of chile verde feels a bit underwhelming, but because they are nice and everyone else enjoyed their food I'm trying to let that slide. I take one star off just because it's not the most affordable place in town and there are other places in town with food just as good for less money. I would definitely return, but it definitely wouldn't be a normal stop for me just because my money can go further elsewhere. read more

Great service .Ordered pick up and was disappointed. The country potatoes were plain , not even salt , I added salsa for flavor , just like the refried beans ,No flavor at all . Expected the potatoes to have been cooked with bell peppers and onions or something. The mole was either watered down or not homemade , didn't taste bad but definitely not mole . The search for good mexican food has been ongoing since we moved to Tracy 5 years ago. I'd never tried this place because honestly, it's a legit hole in the wall. Driving past it never appeared to be the cleanest area... certainly not a section of town I'd go to alone. But then again.... is it not known that those are the characteristics of an amazing mexican food restaurant? Their prices are comparable to most other places in Tracy... My husband ordered a Carnitas Super burrito (like always) and I got a "Create your own Combination" plate because I get the need to try a few different menu items. I ordered 1 Carnitas flouta, 1 pork tamale, 1 chicken enchilada verde. -husbands burrito. He rates it a 7/10. Considering we were both raised with some of the most authentic mexican food in Cali, that's not a bad score. We believe the tortillas may be made fresh in house. It was a nice touch to have guacamole served with it. - Carnita Flouta- made fresh to order. Topped with shredded lettuce, guacamole, crema, and crumbled cheese. The flouta itself wasn't the largest I've had, but still a good size. Probably one of the best I've had in awhile. - Chicken Enchilada Verde- I'm all about that green sauce. And it was bomb. It was also nice that the chicken inside was seasoned and had a light amount of a red sauce on it. It gave it an extra pop of flavor and helped keep the white meat from tasting bland. - Pork Tamale- The amount of pork was very minimal. I'd say the tamale was 80% mass which was a let down for me. This was served with a red sauce and topped with cheese. The sauce definitely saved the day on this one. Overall the service was good (To-go orders only right now) and we enjoyed the food. Okay so I never give 5 stars but I literally would go here a few times a week if I lived in Tracy! BEST carnitas enchiladas... get the green sauce!!! It's so fresh and the pork is amazing and has some crispys it's so good. Relleno is great as well, nice flavor and a light breading which is nice so you taste the pepper and cheese!! Salsa is fresh and so are the chips. I'm trying to think of what else I've tried but know I want to go back and try more food from there. Rice and beans have great flavor and the take out is also nice because they box things separately. Make it nice so the crispy tacos don't get soggy in the rice and beans! The flan - I loved the flavor but my man didn't like the consistency, I think it was amazing so you try it and see what you think! read more

The burrito wasn't too big and the portions were perfect. I recommend it, the service is always great every time I go. Tacos are amazing with grilled onions and jalapeños, the salsa is good as well very flavorful. The horchata, you gotta order a large! Best of the best. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants. They are most often mom and pops, and I'm normally not a fan, so I rarely review them as I don't want to provide my bias against Mexican cuisine a damaging review against a family establishment. However, this place was the best Mexican Restaurant I have ever been to in my life ( even the fancy three dollar sign ones ). Despite being in a less than desirable location in Tracy, the internal decor is quite charming. It is also often always packed despite being so out of the way for most people, that usually spells good things. Service can be slow as they are usually very busy and it's family run, but they are very friendly ( at least the times I've been there). The Food comes out very fresh and delicious, and the quality/quantity ratio is amazing. Whether or not you want to leave full for six dollars or thirty , you get great quality food either way. I recommend the Tacos and Burritos. I wish I was a teenager again so I can indulge in this food more often. I'll be back anyway. read more

I came here for takeout last Saturday the 30th. This place is located at basically the very end of 11th street. It's in a building by itself. It has that local business & family feel to it. We got a few items, 2 hard shell tacos for my son, a combo fajitas, super burrito, & 4 flautas. We also got chips & salsa. The salsa had some heat, which I like, most of these spots hold back the heat. We also got a big side of beans & rice too. I thought the food was good. I would go back for sure for take out. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time, inspired by its good reviews on yelp, despite it being a longer distance from our house compared to other Mexican restaurants. We are so glad we did because it was absolutely delicious. Although the exterior is somewhat inconspicuous, leading us to accidentally pass it initially, we encourage you not to be deceived by appearances. The building may be old, but the interior offers a clean and comfortable atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we received excellent service. They started us off with chips and salsa. Normally, I can resist filling up on chips, but these were exceptional. The chips were thicker, but not too hard, and the salsa was delightful. We ended up devouring all the chips For our main courses, I had a super carnitas wet burrito, while my husband enjoyed his beef combination plate. Both dishes were incredibly tasty. I was fortunate to be able to stop by for lunch with a couple of coworkers. The interior, while a little dated, was super clean. We were greeted promptly and when we sat down we got menus and drink orders in immediately. The chips and salsa were on point. There was a good kick to the salsa, which I really liked. Out food came quickly. I built my own combination, and had beans & rice and two sopes with carne asada. The portions were generous, and overall the food was good. The salsa and carne were on point. My only criticism was that the sopes were a little tough to cut through at the bottom, but that will in no way prevent me from becoming a regular customer there! Barbacoa (braised, shredded beef) is falling apart in delicious morsels with cooked-in-fat fajita style onions and peppers all in a slightly fried tortilla. Never had anything like this and am still dreaming about it four hours later. Absolutely recommend! Al pastor taco - Excellent. Achiote seasoning was on point. Meat was juicy and tender with just the right amount of carbón. Fish taco - Good. The fry was greasy and more akin to a Filet o Fish than Baja style. Michelada - Excellent. One of the best I've had. Small little spot on the corner. Drove by it twice. I ordered online and food was ready within 15 minutes. It was so easy to use. I love the ability to order online because you can skip the lines and by the time we drive there, it's ready! I ordered the kids chicken quesadilla for $4.50. Perfect portion and oh my gosh sooo flavorful. Literally just cheese and chicken but mouth watering lol! I decided on the fish ceviche with tostada. Colorful and even more flavorful! We unfortunately did not care for this place at all . First off it was pretty expensive for a taqueria. I payed $57 for 3 wet burritos and 1 super. Meat was very dry and there was a lot of fatty pieces. My daughter kept pulling chunks out and putting on a napkin saying it was not good.I thought she was being picky until I tried my burrito. Once I took a bite I knew what she was talking about. The sauce they put on burritos was not good at all . To me it had a funny taste . Especially the red sauce , it tasted like chili powder.
