Came here for a benefit fundraiser and had a really good time. Everything was great. The service, ambiance, food and entertainment. We ordered food and nonalcoholic drinks since it was so far away from our side of town. When we asked one of the waitresses for a refill on lemonade she said she would have to charge us for another drink... really??? It wasn't even fresh lemonade. Anywho... we had a great time, for a great cause. They have entertainment once a month I believe. I ordered the San Antonio and the fajita meat was so tender. You only get two tortillas though. The rice and beans were good too. I didn't finish the enchilada but it looked good. I gave them 5 stars even though they wanted to charge for another drink because it isn't the restaurant but the waitress who didn't know better since we weren't charged at all for the nonalcoholic drinks. read more

There would be only one reason to come here and that is if you need a late night Mexican spot to eat at. Me and a large group of friends came here after a night of dancing around midnight. The waiters were super helpful in seating our large group in a timely manner. I ordered the asada and pastor tacos. The asada tacos weren't bad but the pastor tacos did not taste anything like the pastor you would get from a taco truck. The color and texture was off. Customer service was great and the drinks strong. the food was average and cold. It's like they put premade beans and rice in the plate and forgot to stick it in the microwave. I highly recommend La Parilla, steak, chicken & shrimp combo and a frozen margarita on the side! If they can get your order right. The avocados were slimy and bruised. I had to remind the waiter about my margarita. My husband ordered the burrito with ground beef, they gave him tough-chewy steak. The list goes on... First of all the owner, son, and staff are all awesome. Now the food...fajitas excellent, the ceviche is spot on. One I first came to Houston this was one of my first restaurants and it was legit good food. Haven't been in a while because the food slipped somewhat to me and some subpar visits. The chimichanga here made me fall in love back in 2014. Over time it got inconsistent and a hit or miss. When they are on it this is great Mexican food. Hopefully things get back right. read more

Excellent Pollo Con Mole Enchiladas dish and good service. This was the first time I tried Mole sauce and I thought it was awesome. The sauce was a bit sweet and reminded me of chocolate, which is weird because it's on enchiladas, but it was good! My co-worker ordered the burrito and was a bit disappointed. It was huge, but he said most of it was lettuce and shredded cheese. He didn't finish it. My other co-workers enjoyed their dish though. When you walk inside you might be a bit confused. Half the place looks like a make-shift night club and the other half looked like a regular restaurant. Keep in mind though, I came in at 1:00 AM on a Saturday morning so it might not always look like this. There were people dancing in the small area and loud music playing. It was kind of weird at first because the dance floor is about 20 feet away from you and you are just sitting on the other side of the restaurant eating food. There was also an older lady wearing a cat costume smoking a cigarette about 20 feet away on other another table. Our waiter was friendly and very polite. This helped contributed to my 4 star review. I ordered the Chicken Verdes enchiladas and there were not one, not two, but FOUR bones that were in the first half of the single enchilada I was eating. I approached the manager and all he said to me was "Well you're still talking to me now, aren't you?" So the whole didn't kill you scenario was his cop out excuse. I was appalled. I don't do this. I don't complain at restaurants because I know the service industry. I didn't do it with the expectation of getting my food comped, just to let him know this isn't good for business and general health concerns, but he was very rude when I even tried to simply talk about it saying "if a chicken doesn't have bones, is it a chicken?" Which is fair, but not in my enchiladas which I don't wanna choke on? He just tried to make it seem like I was being unreasonable in my claims when no, it was FOUR bones I found in one single enchilada on the plate. He sent us a round of tequila to make up for it but does it really? If I hadn't noticed them and picked out the bones, would I have choked? A little bit of customer service or a willingness to help goes a long way. I ordered through the Yelp app and apparently they never received the order. I would have been fine with that because I know that sometimes things happen but instead of trying to help me fix the issue, they treated me as if I'd walked off the street to steal some of their food. I tried showing then the confirmation email but the manager didn't seem to care about that, he just basically told me to figure it out myself but there was nothing they could do for me. We go here very frequently for the last 5 years and love it. The food is always hot and fresh and served with a smile. The inside decor is a little dive-ish and we don't mind. The top shelf margaritas and the jack Rita are really good. I love their red salsa but its a bit too spicy for me so I stick with their green salsa which is tangy and milder. However, I already made my order so I had to commit. The food was good. I wanted to really savor and enjoy the food, but the 1950's music kept ringing in my ear. Again, I wanted to be out of this establishment. So I forced myself to eat as quickly as I could. Unfortunately, I could not get out quick enough because the waitress took her time to close out my bill. Of course, because of her "taking her time" and because the loud music, I only tipped her $ 2.00. One of the biggest feats of this place is that theyre open until 2am daily. If you're about that life, you're probably about Los Reyes. ~happy hour til 7 and the drinks are strong~ The food: Moderate in flavor and a bit overpriced but it's a good spot for a quick fill up on tortillas and queso. The chip and salsa are actually something to brag about. I love when restaurants have a solid red AND green salsa. Los Reyes nails it on the salsa front for me. The chips are also fresh. I tried the chimichanga the first time and it was a bit soggy but worth trying again. Tortillas are store bought :( The bar: Fully stocked and located near the live music/dancing area. (Oh btw this place is huge). The margaritas are premixed but their happy hour includes them and $2.50 tequila shots. The service: Also a winner! Jake is great. He's very attentive and keeps your glass full! The owner also makes rounds, checking on customers and welcoming newcomers.
