Sometimes I honestly forget this restaurant is there - not because it's forgettable, but because my attention is normally pointed toward dodging potholes and traffic on Germantown Parkway. From the moment we entered the door - greeted with a smile and immediately seated. The server was amazing and actually shook everyone's hand at the start of the meal. I asked for a couple of recommendations - he provided excellent feedback. The food quickly came and was nicely seasoned. The good: *Tortilla chips (they have a seasoning that's very good, slightly salty though) *Salsa (fresh and very flavorful) *TV's in the bar area, a sports lovers dream *Service 10/10 The meh: *Taco (shrimp) Salad shell was a cross between lightly baked and soggy. It wasn't horrible, but it took away from the overall taste and crunch. Yeah, I like major crunch with my taco salad (don't judge). *Plentiful parking, but the lot can be like the Talladega Speedway. The service was great, and Nina did a wonderful job keeping us informed about the food which took forever to come out of the kitchen! The food was OK, nothing to write home about. The margarita was very bland. Probably not a place that we will revisit anytime soon. I was disappointed that the server did not tell us there was an 18% service charge on the bill already as I tipped her very well. It would've been nice for someone to tell us this upfront and not to find out when you get home and look at the bill in detail. My daughter was looking for a Tekila she saw on a commercial with a fountain and some spectacular view. It def was not the Cordova location. Very drab looking and one section looked like a storage area. Then there is a sign that says "Out floors are slippery." We slip and slide to our booth, then go to the bathroom. Return to our table and the chips and salsa await us on a dirty table. We slip and slide to a new table and order food. Both orders come out wrong. The only great thing about the experience was a good waitress to correct the orders quickly. So that's how they got 2 stars. May have to drive to the other Mexican restaurant on the next block. Tekila's Cordova was a huge disappointment as we normally visit the Southaven location. Also as we slid out the door, customers behind us mentioned that they felt the floors were cleaned improperly and need to be stripped so we can stop sliding around. read more

I've been to Tekila several times but decided to do a carry out order. I tried to call several times to place to go order but the options don't allow you to take to a live person. I tried online ordering and it wasn't a breeze so I opted to walk in and place the order to go. I stood at the bar for a while but no one offered assistance. So I asked the host, Christian could he assist me with a to go order. He said of course and was extremely helpful. He reviewed my order and ensured everything was accurate before receiving payment. The wait wasn't long, maybe 10-15 minutes. The food was fresh and hot. I ordered my usual which is chimichanga. The shrimp were cooked well and plenty of veggies inside. They make fresh salsa right at your table with fresh chips and bread. Calamari was good and liked the green salsa that accompanied it. Table had taco flight, chicken Alfredo, & steaks. Taco flight doesn't come with sides and fried shrimp tacos had tails still attached. Limited actual Mexican dishes offered. Flavors are good for all dishes and you can tell are nice recipes made in house not bought prepackaged. Steaks were a little dry and overcooked. Potatoes were cold and over salted. The dishes and silverware are stored in a cabinet behind some tables. You have to get up for servers to access them. Had tres leches dessert. On website it states gratuity added to parties 6 and more. We had 4 people. They added gratuity to our bill. That upset me. I can calculate my own tips and do a higher percentage. If I can afford a $200 dinner, I can afford to leave a tip of my choice. Big parties I understand as a previous server myself but random forced gratuity, no. Food wise I will return. read more

The food is consistently great. We eat there 2-3 times a week it's like our " Cheers" bar. Julio and Lauren, the place couldn't run without them and it shows . Don't go on a day they are off. Service is very slow , it's as if it's a totally different restaurant . The unfortunate part about this restaurant is they have used it to build their family of other restaurants but have reinvested nothing in this original location. Lots of parking as this place is located in a strip mall. I pass by here whenever I visit Memphis and decided let's try this place. We were greeted right away and sat in a booth near the the front. Our waitress was friendly but she got busy so we were forgotten about. When she finally came back to check how we were doing we informed her we haven't ordered yet. We get our order of Buffalo wings, fries, enchilada, enchiladas, and taco in. When it comes out we are missing a few items and again can't find our server to let her know. The food was just okay. There wasn't much that made it stand out to me. The horchata was not to my standards of horchata. To me that makes my meal at a Mexican restaurant. The house the restaurant is in is beautiful. There were only 2 servers, so service was slow. The wait staff was courteous, although experienced a language barrier in answering questions about the menu. The food was plentiful and delicious. The exceptions were the cheese dip and the fish for the tacos. The dip was very thick and became solid, and it tasted exactly like a Swiss Colony cheese wedge. My dinner mate thought the same. The fish for tacos was a huge plank of fish that looked and tasted like a frozen Mrs. Paul's fish plank. She had a beef tamale and beef enchilada with rice and beans. Tamale looked good with a not so thick corn shell. Candyce said both were very good. Luckily we were able to immediately sit at the bar. This location needs more staff. The bar was dirty when we sat down and the servers actually thought the used drinks there were ours. Service after that was good. I had the tornado margarita as well as the walk me down and Long Island Tea. I wanted to try a different drink but they didn't have the required cups clean. The tornado margarita was good. The other two well drinks were extremely strong and I like that. I asked the bartender to make it strong and he delivered. Great job. We ate some chorizo queso in a hot skillet. It was amazing. I could literally eat that with some veggies and be happy. I ordered the Tekila Special which was chicken, steak, and shrimp on a bed of rice with grilled veggies and queso. I will return. read more

I took my daughters here last week. They had some good lunch specials - good prices and great portions. I enjoyed the fresh salsa and warm chips. The chips were seasoned, which is a unique touch.
