I came here with co-workers for dinner after a day of meetings. Being from Arizona, I wondered how authentic the food here would be, but I quickly found that the food was delicious and the real deal. Our server was the real deal, too, and spoke with a wonderful accent that proved it. She was helpful and friendly, and the ambience was comfortable and fun. The chips had just the right amount of salt, and the salsa was tasty. I appreciated that one of the salsa options was flavorful without being spicy. (Don't worry; they have a spicy salsa, too, if you have a less tender palate than my own.) My entree, the Bandera Mexicana Enchiladas (with three enchilada sauces in the colors of the Mexican flag), was delicious and filling. Awesome house margaritas, best I have ever had. Not at all too sweet, but just enough with the fresh lime tart taste. (And healthy amount of tequila) Fajita (chicken) were perfect with loads of onions and a big pepper, super flavorful. Warm chips and very good salsa. Plantains are normally not my jam, but these were fried to perfection. But the star of or visit was our server, Vilma. When you visit, ask for her. Absolutely the best! I hate to do this but someone has to point it out to the owners. I've try talking to them but does not seem to help. The issue is the speed of the Bartender, I think he may also be the owner/manager. Anyway, he makes a damn good margarita, but he gets so backed up every time. Last night I thought I'd outsmart the system, I ordered 2 margaritas when 1st arriving, then ordered my tacos (best in the area). Then waited, going thru 2 bowls of chips with salsa (some of the best in the area). Wouldn't you know it, my dinner came out before my drinks !! I went to T'kila with my wife and a friend visiting from out of town. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant this night and i wonder looking back if there was a specific reason why. I swear we went on a joke night. I've heard very good things about this place from friends that i respect their food opinions of. But the food was awful, our friend couldn't even eat his food, he just paid, tipped and left to another restaurant after. He let us try his dish and it tasted like they dumped ragu over an enchilada. Straight pasta sauce. My wifes dish was also bad. Mine was the best and it was still worse than taco bell. When they refilled our waters they messed up and topped off our tap water with sparkling water so then we had half and half water and couldn't even wash down the awful food and the waitress didn't come back for 15 minutes so we could ask for new water. I didn't see any adults working in the restaurant that night, so maybe there was just an emergency and their kids had to look over the restaurant for a night or something and it just happened to be bad timing. I don't think T'kila is a bad restaurant necessarily, but my first experience there was the worst i've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I will try again in the future and will change the review if my experience changes. read more

This place may be a little hard to find after dark. The sign isn't lit. Went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Maybe they were not expecting many people but they only had one person server. I think she was a bit overwhelmed as the service was slow. I had the chicken enchiladas, which were fine. The rest of my party had the fajitas and tacos which were fine as well. It's an open space location with cool luchador masks. Wouldn't be my first choice for Mexican but in a pinch, I'd go back. Okay so the food is super flavorful and just all around everything you want when you get that Mexican food craving. I will absolutely judge a place by their chips & salsa, and this place nails it. Tacos here are a must and so is the skinny margarita. They have a Salsa & Bachata Night the first Tuesday of every month too (starts with a group class followed by a social.) My wife and I went on 9/7/24 for dinner. Of course, we were served complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were tasty. Salsa was tasty and needed more kick. My wife had chicken enchiladas. They were served with rice and beans. The enchiladas were very tasty. They actually had a little kick to them. I had the brisket enchiladas, a pork belly taco, and a chorizo taco. The pork belly taco was tasty, I enjoyed the slice of pineapple on the taco. The chorizo taco was a little dry. It needed some sauce. The brisket enchiladas were very tasty. I don't remember if the menu said the meat was shredded or not. I enjoyed the pickled onions served with the enchiladas. The rice and beans were well seasoned and flavorful. I am very happy to say the rice was very well seasoned. Our server was great. Came by many times to check on us while we ate. They serve Mexican coke products. The difference between Mexican coke and American coke, Mexican coke uses sugar, not the high fructose corn syrup. Mexican coke is better. Overall a great meal. We will be back. read more

This was my first time coming in. I came in in the middle of day on a Thursday. It wasn't busy, and there was no other customers at the time. I sat at the bar, and I was quickly served a water, given a menu and told of the specials. There was a gentleman serving at the bar and a waitress was also there. It was nicely decorated with plenty of places to sit inside and outside as well. They gave me chips and salsa while I decided on what to get for lunch. I decided to get a rice bowl with carnitas as the protein. While I was waiting for my rice bowl, I was eating the chips and salsa. I noticed that there was a bug in the salsa. I showed it to the waitress, and she said she didn't think it was a bug. It looked an awful lot like a bug to me: it had a pale body with wings and antenna. She replaced my salsa, never giving me back the salsa bowl so I can take a picture and closer look. I didn't think anymore of it. Now that I'm reading some of the previous reviews. I'm concerned that it was a nymph kitchen pest. Their health inspections mention kitchen pests quite a bit from routine to follow up inspections. Anyways, I got my rice bowl. It was pretty good, though the portion was smaller than I expected. It was okay, a little bit too salty for me. Instead of tortilla strips, they had put chicharron pieces on top instead. I did study the menu a little bit because I was looking to order more food to take home, but had decided against it. They have a lot of different things on the menu that other people may like. Pretty solid service and okay food. However, I will not be coming back due to a couple of concerns. read more

Our first time here, and we rarely have Mexican food, partly because there is nowhere we like to go. The service was very warm, friendly and prompt. Lots of interesting options for mezcal drinks. The tacos were super flavorful and the portions generous. The nachos came out piled high, the chicken was grilled rather than stewed. Amazing and inexpensive food. They run specials daily, from wings and Margherita, to Chicken Fajita specials. They always start you off with. Basket of chips and salsa. I love how their salsa has a Smokey touch. A usual order I order from here is there Achiote Wings, it has a nice sweet, garlic, peppery taste. On Tuesdays they have their $2 taco specials which is an amazing deal, all the meat was seasoned perfectly. I also go their desert for the first time here, the tres leches is amazing! Next time I go, I'd only be going for the tacos and buttered cream corn mash. The chicken fajita was really bland. The rice and beans also tasted very bland. My bf got the carne asada and it was cooked tender but bland as well. The only thing yummy to me was the one steak taco I got and the mashed corn that I tried. The only in house tortilla come with the tacos. My tortillas for the fajita came out dirty and cold. The wait to sit took forever (but it was cinco de mayo). There were enough seats but the staff looked like they were short of folks, cause they didn't attend to us for 15 minutes. Overall, not bad but not the best. I'd say they were average. read more

Had a quick lunch date with my husband. We arrived when they opened and seated immediately. There was music playing and the sweet smell of flavors coming from the kitchen. My husband wanted nachos and I wanted fajitas. The food was delicious and the perfect amount of spice/flavor. The portions were perfect, didn't want to overdo it before our movie date. I loved going to their location in Aldie. I went out of my way to go there. I finally visited the Leesburg site. I showed up and they gave me a seat. They came back with chips and salsa and walked away without asking me what I wanted for a drink. Finally came back and gave my drink order and I said I was ready to order. I wanted the chicken enchiladas and I asked if it came with the black refried beans. She said yes. My meal arrived with no beans. I told her and she said, you want beans? Yes. She came back with a tiny bowl of watery black beans. Not refried, which is the entire reason I went back to Aldie. The most delicious beans I've ever had. (From November 2020) It was Tuesday so you know that meant Taco Tuesday! Called my order in to go, 5 tacos and a margarita. Got back and began making everything presentable. The de suadero taco was my favorite of them all. The fish taco was a bit dry. Tongue and pastor tacos were tasty. However, for the price of the tacos, they're smaller than other taco places I've visited. The Margarita tasted fine; it was frozen so it felt like a tequila slushie. Glad I could try this spot but there's a lot of other taco spots near me. read more

I went here two nights ago and ordered the fish tacos. When I got them I took a bite and it tasted very potent but I had also ordered chicken tacos so I just continued eating those. The person I was with (my father) also said that they tasted a little bit funky. Finished my meal, went home and went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning it was uncontrollable puking. I called my father and he ended up calling out of work because he felt nauseous. The rest of my day was filled with throwing up around 15 times which resulted in me having to stay in bed all day and cancel plans that I had previously made. I stopped throwing up around nighttime and was finally able to eat some crackers. I'm not sure if this was due to a bad batch or something but whatever the case may be, I will not be returning. read more

This place is so close to home. I've been hesitant to visit because it's always empty when I walk by. Looking for a late snack, parking was convenient see decided to give it a try. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant has a small bar and some indoor and outdoor tables. Complimentary chips were appreciated. The salsa was good with a hint of spice. The chips were good and bad. So some of the chips were stale and some were fresh. It was weird. Our server gave us a second batch when we devoured the first basket. I ordered the steak fajitas and again mixed bag of feelings in this. The steak was super delicious, tender and hot. But the rice was stale, almost hard. The pick was delicious and fresh yet the guac had no flavor. They have daily specials, happy hour specials and a huge menu. I'm sure we will try them again but hope the food is much more fresh. read more

My husband and I came here for lunch and we enjoyed our experience overall! The chips and salsa they bring out are so good and almost addicting! I ordered the tamale sampler and a fish taco. My absolute favorite tamale was the sweet corn tamale - so moist and yummy! The chicken tamale was a bit on the dry side. I loved how the sampler came with pickled veggies. I thought the fish taco was good, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered a variety of tacos, and his favorite one was the de suadero. I love this hole in the wall. Their weekly deals are hard to beat. I'm a big fan of the chicken tinga tacos. I also love that their salsa is a little different than the average Mexican restaurant. My favorite menu item is their salt air margarita. Hard to beat on a beautiful sunny and 75 day on their patio. The service can be slow at times, however, I go there in no hurry and it has never been an issue. On the one occasion I did need to leave in a certain time frame, I let that be known to my server and they accommodated my needs. read more

T'kila is a pretty popular place around Aldie. I think more of a 3.5 rounded up to four stars. Some of the reviews say that this place is a hit or miss, I agree. Service is inconsistent; however, their food is pretty good. I recently came here for brunch. I didn't know they serve Sunday brunch. Their bottomless brunch is $18, I think. Virginia has weird alcohol laws so there's no such thing as bottomless mimosas. Mimosas and Sangria are $5 on Sunday brunch. Out of everything that I've ate that day the pozole and the Jalisco enchiladas. I've also popped in for lunch, you can't beat their $9.95 lunch special. Everyday they have daily specials for food and drinks. $2 taco Tuesdays are my favorites. Try the chicken tinga or barbacoa. But I'm still obsessed with the pozole. read more
