Chicken chimichanga lunch portion
Caryna F.

We stopped in for a quick late lunch on Monday. There were some folks at the bar and o few tables with customers. The menu has a lunch menu, which I really appreciated. Warm Chips and a very nice salsa basket arrived quickly. We both ordered a $12 chicken chimichanga which came with lettuce, sour cream, rice and beans. Quite good for a lunch portion. The chicken chunks were fresh. We finished up with an order of sopapilla, which is really a (Spanish) New Mexican dessert or fry bread. It was okay, but I'm really spoiled with the food I get in NM. I'm used to a lighter and fluffier texture, served with honey. We will come back, and sample a few other offerings. It was a pleasant lunch. The ambiance was festive. Prices are good. I'd like to try come of their mixed drink offerings. They looked good.

Fried Ice Cream

Great late night place. Service is quick and friendly. Bar area separate from resto so noise from tvs are minimized. Hubs had quesedaillas and he said they were great, I had the seafood rice and I was pleasantly surprised by the large amount of shrimp and scallops. My only retraction are the pineapple bits mixed in. But that's a personal ick wc I missed in the description. Though I doubt the seafood was fresh caught they were still cooked well and the rice was tasty w a cheese sauce. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment bec the fried ice cream had toasted coconut on it, again not mentioned in the menu. All in all a nice homey late night dinner spot. Would return would recommend with reservations.

Special Toltecos Burrito

Familiar with the Alexandria location, this was the first time I've tried this location. My BF and I ordered takeout for lunch. Their lunch menu is a good deal and is pretty varied in offerings. I had what was essentially a carnitas burrito with tomatillo sauce that came with rice. I thought the carnitas was tender and the burrito was filling. Free chips and salsa also came with our order. I wasn't a fan of the chips as they were not very crispy, but the salsa was spicy which I liked. My BF had a burrito too and said he thought it was better tasting than food he's had at the Alexandria location. Our lunch was just over $20, and our food was ready within 12 minutes of ordering. Id return here again for dinner or drinks!

We use to come here all the time before they moved to Dulles Mall. Since they moved to the mall the food has become average and the drinks below average. I had the Pollo Asado the chicken was not seasoned , I ordered the Hawaiian Margarita it literally taste like juice. The house Margarita is watered down. The waiter was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. This is my last time eating here, it's really sad I use to love this place.

Taco salad with grilled chicken.

4 stars for food; 2-1/2 for service. I had the taco salad with seasoned chicken and it was so flavorful; I could not have made it better my self. There was plenty of cheese, pick and chicken to satisfy; I could have used a bit more lettuce but it wasn't worth mentioning. The service, however, was lackluster at best. Our server took a while to come introduce herself and was slow in bringing back our drinks and taking out order. She seemed disappointed the two of us weren't ordering tons of drinks. We were on our way to a concert and aren't "pregaming at a restaurant people". The only quick response was from the runner bringing chips and salsa. Salsa seemed well balanced (some places overdo it with the onions) and fresh. The chips were wafer thin, just the way we love them! Despite our server's inattention, we will return when back in the area... for the FOOD!!

Their "ceviche."

Now, when I address this to the manager "Daniel" I was quite repulsed by his response and demeanor which was very off-putting, stating that I am getting it for free where I correct him by stating that it's not "free" I had to purchase a drink, and it's a promotion your company runs, and if you're going to skimp the portions and have a shitty, pompous, and degrading response, then why run that kind of promotion at all ?! We started with the bang bang shrimp--perfectly crispy with a delicious sweet heat that wasn't overpowering. Easily one of the best appetizers we've had. For my entrée, I had the twin lobster tails they were tender, buttery, and flawless. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the Connecticut lobster roll, which was loaded with generous chunks of lobster, lightly dressed, and served on a perfectly toasted roll with crispy fries. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

It's in a newish shopping center, which, for us, had a bonus-- there is a Harris Teeter there. We needed to pick up some items, so we did before having dinner. We were here for an early dinner. Now that it's getting darker so early, we try to avoid driving after dark, when possible. Thus, we were here around 3 p.m. and were glad to see they were serving dinner at that time. To drink, I chose a mocktail called "What a lychee" which consists of "lychee, pineapple juice, club soda". It was garnished with a lychee. I did enjoy this drink. My husband had a non-alcoholic Stella Artois. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. Having looked at the menu before arriving, we each knew what we wanted. I chose to try the "Blackened Pan Seared Yellow Fin Tuna" which (supposedly) consists of: "Topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sundried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, creamy lemon sauce served with rice." My husband chose the "Shrimp platter," which (supposedly) consists of: "crispy beer battered shrimp, coleslaw and chipotle sauce served with hand cut French fries." It took a while for our food to come out. As I was eating, it dawned on me that there was no crab meat or sundried tomatoes. Also, the sauce sure was a creamy lemon sauce. It was more like a miso-flavored sauce. Hard to say if the menu got changed, but no new menus were printed up to fix it. Or was it that the young man who cooked the food wasn't familiar with the entrees? Still, despite the discrepancies, I did like this dish, although it would have been even better if they had prepared it correctly. My husband noticed that there was no Chipotle sauce on his dish. Instead, there were two small containers: one with ketchup and another with tartar sauce. He, too, thought that his shrimp was well prepared, although the breading didn't cling to the shrimp. This experience left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we appreciated the friendly, attentive service. Yet, on the other hand, we wonder whether it's worth going again, given the possibility of not getting all the ingredients for one's entree. We liked the ambiance, which evoked images of the beach. They have some nice paintings on one wall depicting the seashore, a lighthouse, and beach houses.

There were very few customers. I grabbed a spot at the bar - in fact I had the whole bar to myself. Pete the bartender approached and I requested a menu. After looking it over, I found no oysters on the half shell - so I asked. Turns out, that is a separate menu. I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell. They had three species on special - so I ordered 4-4-4 to make my dozen. And a pint of Goose Island IPA, and then the crab cakes appetizer. The raw oysters came out in about 10 minutes. Complete with a fresh lemon, horseradish, cocktail sauce, and mignonette. I also asked for some hot sauce - preferably NOT Tabasco sauce. Pete brought out two local hot sauces I've never heard of. I tried the first one - it was pretty good. I squeezed the lemon onto all the oysters, then added a couple of drops of hot sauce per oyster, and then some of the horseradish. Overall, tasty oysters. But a bit on the small size. The crab cakes were okay - a little bready from a texture perspective. The Goose Island IPA was cold and refreshing. Paid with a credit card. Service was good. #KellysOysterBar

I want to mention I was meeting friends and never did we once feel like we were rushed at all. They were very careful to watch and approach in a perfectly timed manner. The food was all very good. The fried zucchini was served not at all as I would expect. Very thin, but good. The tzatziki sauce had way too much garlic. The fried squid was excellent. Probably the best I've ever had. Extremely tender, and the coating was not hard at all. The scoldolia (garlic spread) served in the center had very little garlic in it. It should have a lot of garlic, unlike the tzatziki sauce. The octopus was served with a lovely, what I believe to be, lemony hummus. The Bronzino was excellent. The seafood souvlaki special was very good. It was served with rice and Greek style green beans. My friends had the loukumades (fried donuts). They said they were very good. I had the galotopoudiko which was good--could've been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go back. My only comment is for the prices, I would expect a little nicer atmosphere. It's a little cold and baron. The atmosphere at Nostos is better. Northern Virginia's Hidden Gem for Korean-Chinese Cuisine If…read moreyou haven't discovered Hao by Haoru in Chantilly yet, you're missing out on one of the most satisfying and unique dining experiences in all of Northern Virginia. This place serves Korean-Chinese cuisine -- a beloved fusion that's been popular in Korea for generations but is surprisingly hard to find done well in the DMV area -- and they absolutely nail it. Everything here is wok-fired and made fresh to order , and you can taste the difference. We started with the jajangmyeon -- thick noodles coated in a deep, savory black bean sauce -- and it was the real deal. Rich, comforting, and not overly heavy. We also tried the jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), which had a beautifully complex broth with just the right level of heat that builds slowly and keeps you coming back for more. The crispy deep-fried options are golden and bursting with flavor -- we ordered the shrimp and could not stop eating them. The combo sets are a smart choice if you're visiting for the first time, letting you sample multiple dishes without the decision fatigue. The menu is a harmonious blend of bold Korean flavors intertwined with savory, umami-packed Chinese cooking -- it's the kind of food that feels both familiar and exciting at the same time. The space is casual and welcoming, service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality you're getting. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean-Chinese food or trying it for the very first time, Hao by Haoru is the place to go. Easily one of the best restaurants in the Chantilly area.

From the outside, it looks like it seats maybe 75-100 people, but once you walk in, you realize it's easily 2.5 times that size. The layout feels open without being overwhelming, which helps it handle the crowds well. Service -- We had excellent service, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. We had a primary waiter, but 3-4 other staff members also stopped by throughout the meal to make sure everything was going smoothly. Whether it was refilling waters, checking on our infant child, or making sure our food arrived on time, the staff was consistently attentive and helpful. Variety -- The menu offers a wide range of both drinks and food. The wine list, in particular, is extensive. There are plenty of options for both lunch and dinner, with a strong mix of à la carte selections and traditional entrées. There's enough variety that most people should be able to find something they'll enjoy. Pro tip -- The restaurant is located inside a very busy mall area, so street parking can be limited. Plan to add a little extra time to your commute and parking search. Pro tip -- There are approximately 10-15 Tesla charging stations within walking distance, making this a convenient spot to grab a meal while charging your EV. Pro tip -- Public transit options to this area are somewhat limited, so driving is likely the easiest way to get there.
