How is this restaurant open? This doesn't even taste anything close to Mexican food. The service was great but the food was horrible.

Absolutely horrible service. We had to wait 15 minutes before our waiter came over to take our drink order. When the drinks came the order wasn't correct. After we placed our food order we NEVER saw our waiter again. We needed drink refills and never got them, my husband had to go to the hostess stand to get the check. The person he spoke with at the hostess stand could care less about the service. It is unfortunate, because we like their food. We won't be going back EVER. read more

The food is just ok. The DJ's music is SO LOUD, it's extremely painful. The music is so loud you can hear it in the parking lot. Do your ears a favor and go somewhere else!!! Don Sebas is just down the street and the food is much, much better. read more

Dined in a few times and it was alright. Ordered the enchiladas supreme and specified all chicken, and they have me one of each filling (beef, bean, cheese, and chicken). So that was wrong, and we called to address it, and they said they can't give us a credit unless we physically bring in the enchiladas. That's silly. I worked as a takeout person in a restaurant for 5 years. We never had a problem crediting a customer if we messed something up. Other than that, the food just sucked. We've been here twice now and it's a great family place, food is pretty good! The ambiance is awesome I love the decor and it's a great place to bring a large group or family. The pork enchiladas are so good and their chips are always super fresh, salsa is good too! Large portions whatever you order. Service was also amazing and very professional. We did carry out, so I don't have much to say about the ambiance. When we arrived there were a fair amount of people for a Saturday dinner and it was not too loud. The food was just ok. Decided to try this for some Mexican food near my house but wasn't really impressed. See my ratings below: Ambiance: 4/5 - The decorations felt very authentic and there was plenty of room in the restaurant. The night I went there was nobody there but it was a random Wednesday night. Price: 5/5 - The price was solid. They have options for $14 for a 3 entree (taco, chalupa, burrito, etc). Nothing to complain about the price as it was solid with the portions as well. Food: 3/5 - Here's where I had a bit of an issue. My chalupa felt more like a hard shell taco. It wasn't like a standard chalupa. I also asked for beef in the chalupa and I never got that. The tres leches also had sprinkles which I'm not a fan of. Without the sprinkles i feel it would be so good as tres leches is one of my favorite desserts. We have been going to this restaurant for over twenty years. it was a favorite. always took out of town guests because it was a great place to go and the food was excellent. We hadn't been there in over a month and went tonight. Shocker! . New management, new staff and an old, . new menu. Ordered a favorite margarita and were told they didn't make that one. Ordered tried and true from the menu and was not thrilled. The food had no flavor. it was terrible. The beans and rice were dry. The filling in the enchiladas was tasteless.. barely any sauce on them. Even hot sauce didn't help. It was also more expensive! The service was good and the staff friendly, but not the same. And not as many people there as you normally would see. We'll try it again and see if it improves ... hope so. read more

Nothing but great experiences over here! My husband's family has been going to Los Toltecos for years and will continue to do so! Inside is definitely your run of the mill Mexican Restaurant, but the food is what has us coming back! If you like hot, ask for the spicy salsa (you're welcome). They've recently added birria to their menu and it is AMAZING! We've had both the birria tacos and quesadillas. The meat is so tender and we could drink the consomé with a straw. Extremely flavorful! If you stop by for lunch, their lunch combos are a great deal and come with a great portion. The Carne Asada and Pollo Asado meals are a family favorite. I ordered delivery from there for the first time a few weeks ago. The order took a while to get delivered but to be fair I ordered a lot of food. I got their fried calamari, which was OK. I also got their version of an appetizer sampler. That got ate up real quick. I got their Molcajete for two and my friend and I shared. You just can't go wrong. Got chicken quesadillas for the kids. Of course they love that. And as always, my son loves a good burrito. The servings even for delivery is huge, so needless to say we were eating on leftovers for two days. read more

I got the quesobirria (birria quesadilla), not sure how it was any different from birria tacos, because they seemed exactly like 3 birria tacos to me. I haven't eaten inside the restaurant for years, but what I remember is that it was nice inside. Within the last year I have taken out twice. Delivery was fast. Both times I ordered steak. Once, Steak Vera Cruz, and then Chori Steak. To my surprise and amazement both steaks were very good. The last time, my wife had the Enchiladas Supreme (4 different enchiladas). The bartender literally ignored me for almost an hour while chatting with her "regulars" and checking messages on her phone. Even for the check.
